As soon as I got out of the car, I could hear people whispering and talking as they keep glancing somewhere. It was strange, the school was in uproar. I shrugged it off and made my way to my locker, I could still hear people talking but I wasn't paying attention to them.

That was until someone slammed my locker shut, making me jump with a start. I looked at the person to see a very annoyed Kayla. I sighed as she groaned and gave me tired look.

"why are you acting like a zombie?" I said opening my locker again and taking my books.

"people. No! actually one certain individual. They just don't know when to stop. " she said as she groaned again making an irritated face. I laughed at her face and closed the locker.

"What happened now? Another guy got snatched away from you?" I asked as she let out a frustrated sigh and we started walking. People were still talking and but this time, I couldn't hear it.

"I wouldn't complain to you if that was the case. " she said and I raised my brow at her. She always complains to me, no matter what the case is.

"okay fine. But this is not that. It's about someone else. It's so frustrating!!"

"what?" I asked and walked to her class to drop her off, its one of the thing I got used to with her.

"Louise. He just doesn't know when to stop!" she said and I looked at confused and annoyed.

"I don't get it. I told you to give him a straight answer-"

"you fucking asshead. Listen to me first. I told him to back off and I told him to in . "

"so, now what?" I groaned as we stopped in front of her classroom and I leaned against the wall. "Did he come after you again? Did he try something?"

"No..... But. Ughhh!!!!! I mean, I think he's trying to make me regret what I did by his actions. "

"and you regret it?. "

"huh?..... No!!!" she said as her eyes widen and she took a few steps back crossing her hands dramatically. And I looked around smiling at people and trying look away from her as if telling people that I don't know her.

"then what is the problem?" I asked her as she looked behind me and just froze. I raised my brow again, and turned to see Louise?

He looked different. His hair looked great. And his whole personality looked different.

He was with his swim team mates and he was smiling as the guys were annoying him and laughing at his new persona.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I turned to Kayla and she wasn't there. I looked inside the classroom as she slammed her bag on the table and cursed like a sailor.

What's wrong with her?

I shook my head at her as I too started to walk to my class which I share with Louise. His teammates left him as he walked to the class and I saw people whispering and looking at him.

So that was the reason for all the talking and whispering since this morning.

"Louise!" I called and he looked back with his normal expression which was no expression.

"morning. " he greeted waited waited for me to reach him and we started walking to the class.

" this new style looks great on you. " I said and I saw a little smile on his lips. I was surprised to see it. The stone face person smiling and laughing around is.... weird.

"Thanks. "

"I was wondering about our study time together. Today?"

"yeah, sure. I'll text you my address. " he said as we got in our class and took our seats.

"what's the reason for the change?"

"Maa finally let me do it. " he said with a humor and chuckled.

"guess I need to switch places with you, Storm won't even even let me grow my hair. " I said with a groan, remembering what he said. Louise let out a little laugh and soon the bell rang.

My thoughts wandered to what Kayla said and I wanted to talk about it to Louise, but I stopped myself from getting into their matter. I don't wanna hurt his feelings by making him remember.

I entered the cafeteria and saw Kayla sitting on our regular table. I got my food and went to her. She turned and looked at me as if she was expecting something and her face fell.

"you're not happy to see me?"

"What? No. I just wasn't expecting you to sit here. That's all. " she said playing with her fries and making a sad face.

"are you drunk? In daylight? Why wouldn't I sit here. " I said placing my tray on the table and looking at her was if she's gone crazy.

"there. " she said as she pointed her finger at the table where Luise and his team usually sits. There were a lot of people surrounding it now, mostly girls.

"so?"

"Everyone is going to him today. I thought you would too. "

"I have no reason to. " I said and sat on my seat as she smiled at me. "I don't get everyone's deal. Why's everyone talking so onto him? Just because he changed his style. I mean he's the same as before. They should really try to see the people for who they are and not for how they look. "

I said as I saw discomfort on Louise's face and his team mates tried to hush the people away *sarcasm* very politely. Louise was never a person to work for attention and it showed on his face, how much he hated it. When the people were gone from around him he laid his head down on the table over his arms.

He must be having it hard today. Things will be okay and about normal in a few days.

I looked at Kayla and she was glaring at me.

"what did I do?" I asked confused and went to eat my fries.

"nothing. " she said with a tight smile and my brows scrunched in confusion. I shook my head went back to eating. She was quiet and that was really weird for me. I brushed it off.

She must be on her that time of month. I should keep my mouth shut for a few days, I guess.

After school, I decided to meet Louise and go straight to his house. Hilda said Storm's not home so I see no reason to go back now. I'll go once he's back.

Louise drove in front of me as I followed him behind him. Once we reached his house I saw a lady in green sundress talking to a guy, who was delivering manure. His mother I guess.

She looked at Louise as he got out and a smile covered her face. I got my bag pack and followed Louise.

This will my first time at his house, so I decided to introduce myself. But before that, his mother was walking to me. Once she was in front of me, I saw bright smile in her face.

"hello Mrs Florence, I'm Haze. Louise's classmate. " I said as she greeted me and welcomed me inside her house.

"Haze. "

"hmm" I stopped as Louise called me and I looked at him.

"it's -i... Look. No one has ever been to my place and there was reason to that. " he said as his eyes were almost pleading. I got confused and let him talk. " I trust you so can you please keep whatever you see in there a secret. "

He said making me more confused but I nodded. It can't be bad right. Whatever he's trying to keep secret, it can't be bad.

"sure. " he nodded at me and we went in.

" hurry in kids. It's really hot outside. Come have some refreshing juice. " I head as I walked im the living room and saw his mom holding a tray with two glasses of juice.

"Thank you Mrs Florence. " I said as I gladly took the glass and gulped it down in a go.

"do you want more?" she asked and I shook my head.

"this is the first time Louise has brought any friend home. So just let me know if you need anything okay, Haze. " she said with a smile as she took back the glasses and I looked at Louise, what was he trying to hide. Nothing is wrong here.

"sure why not. " I replied and he looked at me giving me a face 'you'll know soon'.

Something shady is going in here.
