Chapter 3, Hanging Out
It's all fun and games until someone cracks their head open like a walnut and gets sent to the emergency room.
~ Aurelia's POV ~
My legs were pretty tired from swinging on these swings, the sun was beaming down pretty hard on us but we tried to ignore it and continue to play at the park.
We haven't been here for a while and we sort of missed being here, there was so many memories here including the first time I cracked my head open on the monkey bars cause I wanted to swing upside down.
"Rei, remember when you cracked your head here?"
Val asked as she pointed to the monkey bars, I nodded with a chuckle and walked towarsds the bar to relive the memory.
Well, I was about to when Marceline grabbed my hand and shook her head.
"Come on Marcy, it'll be so fun!"
I whined as I tried to walk back to the monkey bars only for Marcy to tighten her grip on my hand and pull me to the seesaw, Marceline looked at me and shook her head.
It's all fun and games until someone cracks their head open like a walnut and gets sent to the emergency room.
Marceline said dryly, I sighed knowing that she was right and got on the seesaw correctly.
Angie got on the other side and we began to play on the seesaw, I was sweating like crazy under this heat that when I got up from the seesaw seat, it sound like tape being removed satisfyingly.
My shorts were damp and I hated the feeling of my clothes sticking to my skin, it makes me want to jump off of a cliff or jump in front of a freight train but what can you do?
My hair was now in a ponytail, I was standing around trying not to die with the heat wave that was going on.
Almost everyone was sweating like pigs cause of the heat, but somehow nobody wanted to leave, only because this was our only plan and we didn't have a back up one.

"Hey, the pool's open today, we should go there and cool down."
Kyla suggested, nobody even disagreed.
We all ran to our bikes and began to ride to our houses just to switch out of our nasty, sweaty outfits and into our swim wear.
Although Kyla may feel as though as she doesn't belong in the group, she does and whenever she comes up with a plan or back up plan, she's just proving our point.
I grabbed my swimsuit and put it on quickly, I was dying for the fresh, cool pool water.
Aurelia's Swimsuit
I grabbed another pair of shorts and put on my flip flops, I grabbed a towel and some sunscreen before walking downstairs and leaving my house again.
I biked to Kyla's house since that's where we were meeting up, the pool was also closer to her house so that meant we had to pass by her house regardless.
Val and Angie were already there talking about something, I got off my bike and walked over there.
Marceline finally arrived, so we were all now waiting for Kyla to hurry up and walk to the pool.
"Jeez Ky, you take years just to get dressed."
Val complained, Kyla muttered a silent sorry and we walked to the pool together.
Once we got to the pool, we walked to some seats and placed our things down before putting on some sunscreen.
I walked to the steps that go into the pool and slowly walked down, the cold, fresh water hitting my skin was quite refreshing if you ask me.
So far I was the only one in the pool since the girls were putting sunscreen on or putting their hair in a ponytail.
"This is more fun than being at the park, although we should go back to the park one of these days to take some photos and spend time there."
Angie spoke, I nodded at her before going underwater and swimming around.
I used to struggle with swimming with my eyes open, I was so afraid of the chlorine getting into my eyes that I didn't want to swim at all at one point.

But luckily, Val taught me that there's nothing to be afraid of at all and that swimming with your eyes open is way cooler than swimming with your eyes closed.
So, it's really thanks to her that I can swim with my eyes open.
"So Rei, is your uhm, father coming to see you this week?"
Marce asked me in a low tone when I finally swam up to the surface, I sighed and nodded slowly before turning around and swimming back to the other girls.
Marceline knows a lot about my dad and everything about me and my mom, a bunch of times my father flaked on out on me and Venus which was why she was asking.
"Y'all are seriously lucky to have online school, going to classes with your pajamas on and not even having to see anyone you dislike."
Val spoke up, I looked at her and then looked at Angie before I began to start laughing.
"Those are the highlights of online school, but the lowlights are the fact that I'm not taught social skills and then when school's over, i have to teach myself to get out there."
I replied, Val nodded slowly but I don't think that she understood what I just said.
We all knew what we wanted to and become when we're older and out of school, we spoke out about loosely as well.
Val wanted to be either a lawyer because she was on the debate team and she was really good, which led her to realize that being a lawyer meant that she would be debating and probably winning.
I have no doubts on that either, Val is a good person and she knows what's right and what's wrong.
Kyla wanted to be an author, she fell in love with English literature and she knew that, that was going to be her passion whether she had people to believe in her or not.
Which she does, I believe in her every step of the way and will be buying a bunch of her books that she'll be publishing in her future.
Marceline wants to be a nurse or doctor, she feels the need that caring for people was in her blood and that she would much rather take care and help others than just caring and helping herself.
That's Marceline, she's never selfish and if she was called selfish, it's like a slap in the face for her.
Angie wanted to become an actress, although she was a step closer since she was in some movies, she just knew that it was her passion and nothing would be getting in her way.
Angelique is good at being an actress, she didn't have to try too hard but she always did because she wanted to get her dreams.
I, I wanted to become something big but I didn't know what it was yet.
If I wanted to play a sport, it wouldn't do my good since I didn't go to in person school.
"Should I ask my mom to switch me to in person school?"
I blurted aloud, all the girls looked at me and they thought for a moment.
For a second I was worried, I didn't really want them to tell me I shouldn't because I so badly wanted only for the sports though.
"Go for it, maybe you can come to our school?"
Val suggested, I looked at her and nodded happily.
Well I know what school I'm going to, and I know my friends will be there for me, I just needed to convince my mom.
It shouldn't be that hard, right?

Neophyte: Common Route
A story about self-discovery, interpersonal relationships, magic and magical creatures-- and a silent war. Marsha is about seven years past adulthood and still feels like a scared child in her parents' home. This is exacerbated when she discovers her father has apparently keyed up his destructive, sadistic habits-- leading to a mad dash out of the house with precious cargo in tow and only one idea where to go. This begins her journey, leading to a discovery that will change her life forever. And she never wants to go back. (Warnings: Lots of descriptions of abusive, sadistic and otherwise traumatizing and triggering behavior that a parent perpetuated toward a child or multiple children. Descriptions of violence, a main character with emotional issues that will be dealt with, and a whole lot of the 'aftermath' of battles in a war. Even a few descriptions of some of those battles. Things of that nature. If you can't handle one of those, please do not read.) {I had this idea to write a 'common route' and then 'romance routes' like they do in otomes? Book 1 is the common route, and then at book 2, you choose your love interest. Each of which is encased in their own book.}
