when i felt it (like the satyr felt the fire)
i wanted to embrace it but my past (like
prometheus to the satyr) told me not to—
it burns everything it touches
butterflies in my stomach churned & turned
into white moths burned out of the lighthouse
to no ships
waves of horny harmony
whet me into cliffs in a choked moment when
quality drops from 4k to 144p— all the world
an unkind haze
some cigarettes on the floor
bleed ash from their tips while others have
come to terms with their fires
