《Doctor // Kidnapped Dreamnotfound AU》The Weekend

"H-help."
(I know this one's kind of trash, but I promise they get better)
George POV
Ah yes, the weekend. My personal favorite time of the week. The only two days where I get to enjoy myself without working late shifts at the hospital I work at, 'Smile Bright Hospital'. Not so easy to smile when you're in a hospital, but whatever, ignore the bad name... And the fact that it sounds more like a dentists office than a hospital.
It's currently June 16th so that means I've been working there for about 2 years now and as much as I love helping people, God is it stressful.
Every single time I've finished with a patient another one comes rolling in. And don't even get me started on the people who think they're smarter than me and refuse to accept treatment and request another treatment that is not only more expensive, but won't even work for what they have. And their reason for doing that is because they read something on some bullshit website that clearly isn't even remotely reliable!
I could go on for hours, but lucky for you, I have better things to do. Like focusing on walking to my favorite cafe to meet my friend and coworker, Wilbur.
The cars to my right whizzed by at annoyingly high speeds. Always going at least 10 miles above the speed limit, and that's on a good day. But unfortunately nobody cares enough to do anything about it. Not even the police, but who can blame them... They've got enough on their hands with all the recent murders that have been going on lately. We got 3 last month just in this town!
But enough about what doesn't concern me.
It was currently 8:55 AM here in Florida, meaning that in around 5 minutes I would meet Wilbur at Teas 'n beans, mine and Wilburs favorite cafe. It's a small little shop on 4th street that me and Wilbur always meet at to either hang out or just have a good cup of coffee. We usually meet there in the mornings before work if the times happen to match up right by chance. I would walk there and Wilbur would drive. I normally wouldn't drive anywhere for a number of reasons. The main one being that I got nervous when driving, that and I simply enjoyed walking through town.
I swiftly turned the corner and began walking along the sidewalk that would lead me to Teas 'n beans. I continued walking and couldn't help but allow myself to quietly hum a soft melody that has been stuck in my head. I couldn't quite place my finger on where I've heard it, but that doesn't matter. I did however remember the name of the song. Heatwaves, by Glass Animals.
A smile crept up my face as the door to the cafe came into view.
Moments later I stepped into the cafe and felt myself be immediately met with the sweet aroma the cafe held. The cafe had a calming atmosphere with potted plants lining the walls, a mainly wooden interior and an overall cottage core style. It was run by Wilburs aunt, Margaret. A sweet woman who I've come to know quite well these days seeing as I see her nearly everyday for my morning tea or coffee (depends on how British I'm feeling that morning.) before work.
As I took a seat at one of the bar stool like seats at the order counter, A sweet and familiar voice rang out to me. "Good morning George! What can I get for you this morning?" Margaret asked me in her usual soft and sweet voice with a clear British accent added to it. "I'll have a-" I was cut off when I felt firm hands grasp onto my shoulders. "Aaah!" I screamed out as I swiveled around in the brown cushioned chair to face whoever it was that currently had their hands on my shoulders. My tense body soon relaxed when my soft brown eyes met darker ones. "Jeez Wilbur- what the fuck!" I lightly hit my best friend on the arm as he doubled over in laughter. "Don't do that! You scared me." I hit him again as I too began to chuckle lightly because of his contagious laughter. "You should have seen your face!" He laughed out. "Well next time, bring a mirror." I muttered sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes and returned to Margaret who I found trying to hide a giggle as she discarded a coffee cup from a previous customer. "As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted." I glared behind me to Wilbur who had started to calm down before what was meant to be a playfully harsh gaze was thrown his way. Apparently he found my gaze and words funny because he only started to laugh harder. I tried my best to ignore him and turned back to Margaret. "I'll have a..." It then hit me that I had no idea what I actually wanted. Due to being scared half to death I completely forgot what I was going to order.
In panic I took a quick glance at the menu that was sitting next to me, and ordered the first drink I saw. "Mocha!" I practically yelled by accident. I internally slapped myself across the face.
What was I thinking?! Basically ordering a hot chocolate? IN THE MIDDLE OF JUNE?! IN FLORIDA?! I'm an idiot.
"Are you sure?" She asked in both a confused and concerned tone. I've never ordered anything like that, not even in the winter.
"Mhm." I hummed, lacking all confidence in my voice.
Why did I do that?! I could have just said no and then ordered something I actually wanted!
"O-okay..." She trailed off as she turned around to start preparing my order.
During all of this Wilbur managed to calm down enough to take his own seat to the left of me.
"And for you Wilbur?" Margaret called over her shoulder. "Well! I, Wilbur, like a sane person, will order your finest cup of iced coffee." Wilbur ordered in a posh voice. I rolled my eyes and ignored Wilburs annoying attitude this morning. Not that I didn't find it entertaining.
"So, George." Wilbur turned to me. "Any plans for the weekend?" He asked casually. I thought back to remember if I actually had anything planned for the rest of today and tomorrow. "Nope." I answered. The same answer I give to him nearly every time he asks that question, and I expected to receive the same reaction I always get from Wilbur. The one where he tells me I'm lame and that I need to get out more often and rolls his eyes. However this time instead of rolling his eyes, they widened. "Man, you should totally come to my place tonight. We're going to do some board games, pizza, overall just hanging out you know? You have to come." He explained excitedly. A moment later he started naming off some people who were going to be there. "There's going to be Punz, Ponk, Scott, Hannah. Oh my god- dude you have to come," He repeated. "it'll be so much fun." Wilbur tried convincing me.
Out of that group I only really knew Hannah, the others I had only met once or twice. Wilbur kind of had his own group of friends meanwhile I had only met him through work, and if I hadn't, I would have little, to no friends at all.
"Please?" He begged. I thought about it a moment longer and decided it would be best to get to know Punz, Ponk, and Scott a little better anyways. "Sure." I agreed.
Wilbur did a mini victory dance before settling back down in his chair, while he was doing that I received my mocha.
My mocha...
Forgot about that.
"Thank you Margaret!" I thanked.
"So what time?" I asked after taking a sip of my steaming hot mocha that I definitely didn't want, but it would have been rude not to drink it after making Margaret go through the trouble of making it.

"5:30 PM. You can come earlier if you want but that's when everyone else will be arriving." Wilbur explained.
"Sounds good." I said, causing Wilburs smile to widen at my words as he received his ice coffee.
We carried on talking for another 20 minutes before Wilbur had to go grocery shopping. Somewhere in that time Wilbur had finished his drink and payed for it, as did I. "Stay safe." He said as he started walking out of the door.
Before I could respond, Wilbur was already out the door and walking towards his car.
I smiled to myself.
It appears that I'm finally going to have a somewhat eventful weekend.
Time skip
After I got home I did what any normal person would do to kill time. Netflix, YouTube and- you're not gonna believe it, but I actually did some chores for once.
Just as I was brushing up the living space I glanced at the clock to find that it was already 5 o'clock.
I quickly finished up what I was doing and practically sprinted into my room so I could start getting ready.
What should I wear? Should I bring any games? What time should I leave?
It felt like a million questions were buzzing through my head with not nearly enough time for me to try and come up with an answer to all of them.
Alright, first, I'll pick out an outfit...
I finally decided which task I would attempt first.
My eyes skimmed through the closet as I debated with myself which outfit I would wear for the night.
After a good few minutes of trying to choose an outfit I finally came to a decision. I chose a light blue hoodie with some white letters saying 'Error: 404' with a red boarder around them. Then I chose some denim blue jeans and some blue converse to finish off the outfit. (Just in case it wasn't clear already, blue is my absolute favorite color.)
I glanced my alarm clock to find that the bright red numbers read 5:10.
I spent 10 minutes just picking out clothing?!
I internally yelled at myself for taking that long just to do a simple task.
I rushed over to a drawer and sifted through it trying to find a good board game to bring. After deciding that anything I had, Wilbur would have too, I abandoned the drawer and headed over to the living room.
I swiftly grabbed my wallet, (because you never know.) my phone, earbuds and my house key before dashing out the door.
If I walked fast I could make it in 15 minutes, but not wanting to be the first one there, I decided to take my time.
So, I plugged in my earbuds and started playing my Spotify playlist on shuffle. The first song that came up, I recognized as one that Wilbur had actually recommended to me, it wasn't long before I realize it was also the tune I was humming this morning.
Knowing it pretty well by now, I started to quietly hum along with it.
As my feet made contact with the pavement, it's faint echo could barely be heard over the song, so naturally I turned up the volume.
Time skip 20 minutes
I made my way through Wilbur's neighborhood as my eyes scanned all of the houses for Wilbur's two story brick home, the only one like it in the neighborhood. Possibly one of the nicest as well. It certainly wasn't a rich neighborhood, but Wilbur's house was a minor exception. I suppose being the top surgeon in the hospital pays well for him.
It wasn't long at all before said house came into view, and not long after that I made it to the front porch.
I rung the doorbell and a few moments later the door swung open to reveal Wilbur standing tall to greet me. I shouldn't say he's standing tall seeing as since he's 6'5, so he always is.
"Gogy!!!" Wilbur exclaimed happily as his eyes landed on me. He swung his arm over my shoulders and started leading me inside.
Inside I saw Scott, Ponk and Hannah, meaning that Punz would probably arrive shortly.
"We were just about to start another game, care to join us?" Wilbur offered.
"Sure." I smiled as I sat down on the couch with everyone else. Ponk handed me a controller and a few moments later the game began.
Time skip 25 minutes
"YES!" Hannah celebrated as she won for the 3rd time in a row.
"Nahh, you cheated, we're switching controllers, you can't be trusted." Ponk said as he tried reaching for Hannahs controller. "I agree, hand it over Hannah." I laughed holding out my hand for the controller.
Just as Hannah was about to retaliate, the doorbell rang and all of our heads turned towards the front door as Wilbur got up to answer it. "Ayyye Punz! My boy!!! Been a while aye?" Wilbur held open the door for Punz and he waked in. Once he made it inside his eyes swept over the couch, or more specifically the people on the couch. I couldn't help but notice his eyes pause on me for a split second longer. Probably because he was surprised to see me here since we had only really talked once or twice.
Once everyone was settled on Wilbur's large couch, Wilbur remained standing in front of the group. "So who's ready to order pizza, on me?!"
A series of 'Me!'s were heard throughout the living room. "Alright, what should we get..." He trailed off as he opened an app on his phone. "Does Pepperoni and cheese sound good?" Wilbur asked after a few seconds. "Sure." I shrugged. "Sounds good to me." Ponk said.
"Okay then. Should be here in around... 20 minutes." Wilbur declared.
Time skip 2 hours
We all sat on the floor playing cards like children again having the most fun in ages simply because of each other and the card game in front of us.
"I win!" Hannah cheered as we all threw our cards down on the cream colored carpet.
"How do you somehow manage find a way to cheat in everything we play?" Scott said, refusing to believe that Hannah was better at both video games and card games than all of us.
"It's not that I cheat, you guys are just bad." She laughed.
I'm not one to side with people I barely know against someone that I do know, but this was the 4th game she had won the most of, I'm starting to think she really is cheating to be honest.
I glanced at my phone and read the time.
7:55?
It feels like I've only been here for an hour! I guess I really lost track of time...
"I should probably go soon, I'll be sleeping till noon if I stay up much longer." I stated, standing up.
"Like you don't already every time you get the chanced." Wilbur laughed.
"C'mon man, 5 more minutes? We can ask the magic 8 ball if Hannah is cheating. After that you can leave." Punz asked with a pleading tone.
5 more minutes couldn't hurt...
"Fine... But no more than 5 minutes, alright?" I gave in rather quickly. "Great! I'll go get it, I know where Wilbur keeps it." Punz sprung up and headed somewhere down the hall.
I sat back down and my gaze turned to Wilbur and he had an expression on his face that I can only explain with the words: How the fuck does he know where I keep the magic 8 ball?
After a few moments of waiting in a comfortable silence, we heard Punz from walking down the hallway. "I'm back~" Punz cooed as he walked back into the living room with the 8 ball in hand.
We all sat on the rug in a circle awaiting the moment that Punz would ask the 8 ball if Hannah was cheating. It felt like we were all children at a sleepover, it reminded me of when I would have sleepovers with my friends in elementary and when we would huddle around and tell each other scary stories in attempt to frighten one another.
"Alright..." Punz started as he began to shake the 8 ball. "Did Hannah cheat on any of those games?" He asked simply.
We all peered over to the 8 ball to read the answer.
'Cannot predict now' it read.
We all sighed in annoyance, meanwhile Hannah cheered. "You know what, next time we get together we can ask again, how about that?" Wilbur suggested and we all nodded our heads in agreement.
"Welp, I should get going I suppose..." I said standing up once more. "I suppose so..." Wilbur sighed as he began walking me out to the door.
"Would you like me to drive you? It's not very safe to be out this late." Wilbur offered kindly.
"No no, don't worry about that. I wouldn't want to be an inconvenience anyways. Besides, I've done this loads of times." I declined stepping further towards the door.
"Are you sure? It would only take like, 5 or so minutes. I don't mind." Wilbur offered again.
Just then Punz's voice hollered out from the living room. "Wil, relax, he'll be fine. C'mon, we're about to start another game!" Punz hollered.
Wilbur sighed in defeat. "Well- stay safe for me, will you?" "Of course Wilbur." I said as I took out my ear buds.
"Bye everyone!" I yelled as I stepped out of the now opened front door.
"Bye Gogy!" I heard from the living room, most likely from Hannah since her and Wilbur are the only ones who ever call me that.
"Be safe!" Wilbur called out as the door closed in his face.
A smile was brought to my face as I thought about how much Wilbur seemed to care for me. I walked through Wilbur's driveway as I opened my Spotify playlist and set it on shuffle once again.
12 minutes had passed since I left Wilburs home and I continued to walk down the streets of Florida. Few cars were parked on the side of the road, most likely belonging to workers working long shifts or couples on dates late at night. That's what I could only assume though.
A car to my left drove past me and I glanced into the drivers seat. My eye brows rose as I caught a glimpse of a bright white hoodie, a gold chain and blond hair. There's only one person I could ever see wearing that outfit, and that was Punz, I knew that because I had seen him wearing that same outfit only minutes ago, along with a couple times on other occasions.
I guess he left shortly after I did...
My thoughts were cut off as I heard a faint noise from outside of my ear buds.
I stopped in my tracks and took out my ear buds and glanced around.
I had stopped right in front of an alleyway containing no more than a few dumpsters and some trash, from what little I could see at least with the poor lighting.
"H-help." I heard. Almost a whisper, I don't even know how I managed to catch it.
I guess the side of me that was a doctor at heart is what led my feet closer towards the sound. The voice sounded strained, and I could only assume the person it was coming from had a reason for it.
What if it's someone hurt?
"Hello? Is someone there?" I asked cautiously.
