I wake up the next morning to giggles around me before feeling someone's grip tighten around my waist. I turn around and see Benny still sleeping lying there next to me with his arm just above my butt. I look up and see all of the boys standing there looking at us laughing.

"I thought they weren't dating"

"Oh Lilly I love you"

"Oh kiss me Benny"

"The new couple everybody"

"Lilly and Benny K I S S I N G"

I roll my eyes and throw a glove that was laying beside me at them all before grabbing Bennys arm and moving it.

Squints: Oww

Bertram: Shit I forgot she was a pitcher

Ham: Sometimes I forget she's a girl

Benny: shut up guys

He says it in a morning raspy voice and sits up. We all sit in the treehouse for an hour or so. At 8:00 we all go and throw our stuff in our houses and grab our baseball stuff and run back to sandlot. We all play till 4:00 when everyone walks home. I walk with Benny and Smalls. Smalls leaves and I kiss Benny on the cheek and go into my house. I eat dinner and spend time with my mom before going to bed.

We all spent a week playing baseball everyday at the Sandlot. Today we all went early but had no ball so we sent Squints and Yeah yeah to go and get one from Vincent's. After about 20 minutes they finally get back by yeah yeah dragging Squints.

Benny: we're have you guys been we've been waiting forever already

Yeah yeah: ahh Squints was per-vin a dish

Squints: shut up I wasn't

Yeah yeah: yeah yeah you were, your tongue was hanging out of your head and you was swoonin. Oh Wendy Peffercorn my darling lover girl ohh.

Squints: I said shut up. I got a lot of things on my mind

He walks into the dugout before grabbing a soda and sitting down.

Ham: this pop isn't working Benny, I'm baking like a toaster cheezer it's so hot out here

Squints: it's 150 degrees out Benny, you can't play baseball.

You: it's just heat guys since when had that bothered you all it was only like 20 degrees less yesterday.

Kenny: this is too much guys

Timmy: we're dying out here

Benny: vote then, anybody who wants to be, a can't hack it, panty waist, who wears there mommas bra. Raise there hand.

Everybody but me raises there hand and agrees as I roll my eyes.

Benny: fine! Fine! Fine! Be like that. So what are we gonna do.

Everyone looks at each other as yeah yeah laughs

All: Scam Pool Honeys!

You: you can't say that we all know if a girl came up to you would all piss yourself.

Ham: we're talking to a girl right now

You: that's different if Wendy Peffercorn came up to you your telling me you would all start talking to her.

Ham: well no

You: that's what I thought now can we just get to the pool.

They all yell yeah before running off to there houses.

You: I'll race ya

I say as I take off running and see Benny start running behind me. I start laughing as running even faster before getting to my lawn before him.

You: and look who wins again

Benny: only because you cheated

You: I didn't cheat maybe if you were quicker you could've beat me.

Benny: maybe if you started correctly I could've beat you.

You: nope no excuses by the way this is the third time not keeping count or anything.

Benny: shut up and go grab your bathing suit

I roll my eyes and run inside my house and go straight to my room. I throw on a floral bikini and a pair of Jean shorts, I also put on a baseball jersey and button it up. I throw my hair up into a high ponytail before, I grab a towel and put on my shoes before saying goodbye to my mom and running outside to my porch.

I see Benny already waiting on my porch with Smalls before the rest of the guys come running over. We all run to the pool and pay are admission and all the boys run in as I walk. I walk out to the pool from the girls change room doors and then I see Wendy my old friend who was dating one of the seniors last year that I was friends with. So I walk over to her to see all of the boys staring at her in her lifeguard chair.

You: hey Wendy

Wendy: oh my goodness Lilly

She hops down from the chair and hugs me.

Wendy: I haven't seen you in forever

You: I know it's been so long how have you been.

We continue a conversation before I see a couple guys call my name. I say goodbye and walk over to them. Once I get to them I see it's Jake and his friends who I don't know.

You: hey Jake

Jake: Hey Lilly oh umm this is Greg and Rob, there my friends from out of town

You: oh nice to meet you I'm Lilly

Jake: Lilly's that girl I was telling you about

They all nod there heads before I feel hands wrap around my leg. I look down and see Claire the 4 year old I babysit.

You: hey Claire

I pick her up and she wraps her legs around me.

Jake: so you gonna come to a pool and not wear a bathing suit

You: I'm wearing one it's just under my clothes

Jake: let's see it

You: I'm good I'll take it off when I want

Claire: leave her alone Meanie

You: Claire it's ok, Jake I'm gonna go bring her back to her mom

He nods and I walk away before bringing Claire back to her mom and have a small conversation with her as well. When a couple other little kids I've babysat or tutored run up to me and hug me. I sit there with them for a few minutes before walking away and taking off my shirt and shorts. I see Jake and his friends staring at me and I roll my eyes and walk to the Sandlot boys before sitting on the edge of the pool.

We all run in and immediately jump into the pool. After a couple minutes I look around not seeing Lilly anywhere. Then Ham comes up to me and dunks me under, I throw him off and come back up to the surface.

Ham: how does Lilly know Wendy?

Benny: she's the most popular girl in the school what do you think.

I turn around and see Lilly and Wendy having a conversation before some guy from our school calls her over. I see there eyes widen at the fact that she's actually walking over to them. There's some people that I don't know there too and I see them all checking her out. I stare at them but they don't notice me it makes my blood boil that someone else is checking her out, but then again we will never date I like her but she'll never like me.

Kenny: Hey! Squints isn't the only one per-vin a dish.

Me: shut up DeNunez

I dunk him under water before looking back up at Lilly who now some little girl is attached to her waist and Lilly's holding her up. Jake keeps saying stuff to her and Lilly looks uncomfortable. I was about to hop out of the pool and go to her but she walks away to the kiddy pool. She starts talking to a bunch of moms and little kids.

Bertram: damn she's even popular with the moms

Timmy: and the kids

Tommy: and the kids

Yeah yeah: yeah yeah Benny she's gonna be a hard one

Me: shut it Yeah yeah

After a few minutes she gets up and walks over to the wall of the change rooms before taking off her shirt and her shorts and placing them down gently on the ground. I stare at her as she walks over to us and sits down on the edge of the pool.

Her body its, it's just perfect I mean the way her waist dips and flows down to her hips that stick out just the perfect amount. And her petite figure but still has the perfect curves. I watch as her ponytail swings as she walks over to me. And before I realize I was staring for too long she sits down with her feet in the water.

I look at Benny whose staring at me and put my feet into the water before talking.

You: whatcha looking at Rodriguez

Benny: what! Oh- um- n-nothing

You: very believable

Benny: shut it

You: you only say that when you can't come up with anything else to say

And then before I know it he grabs me and throws me into the pool. The cold water hits my face and I immediately push up from the bottom of the pool and rise to the surface before jumping onto Bennys back and pushing him under. I push off of him and swim away, I swim to the crowd of Sandlot boys and start listening into there conversation.

Yeah yeah: yeah yeah to cruel

Timmy: she don't know what she's doing

Tommy: she don't know what she's doing

Ham: ya she does she knows exactly what she's doing

Squints: I've swam here every summer of my adult life. And every summer, there she is. Lotioning, oiling, oiling, lotioning, smiling, smiling. I can't take this no more!

He pushes Kenny out of the way and goes to the stairs before jumping out and walking to the diving board.

You; what is he doing?

Kenny: three summers of this I think he finally snapped

Yeah yeah: I don't know but that's the deep end and Squints can't swim!

We all watch as Squints walks onto the diving board he gives Wendy a smile before jumping into the water.

All: Squints!

We all swim to the edge of the pool and jump out and run to him as he's getting pulled out of the pool by the male lifeguard. We all watch as Wendy goes over to him and starts doing mouth to mouth.

Ham: cmon squints

Smalls: cmon squints you can do it pull through bud

Benny: cmon man, cmon

Yeah yeah: yeah yeah man he looks pretty crappy

You: Squints cmon

Bertram: oh god he looks like a dead fish

We all watch as Squints opens his eyes and smiles at us.

All: what?

You: Wendy!

But before she could do anything she goes back to give squints mouth to mouth. Squints grabs her head and kisses her before she pulls away from him.

Wendy: you little pervert!

Timmy: ah man he's in deep shit

She grabs his arm before pulling him out of the pool with all of the boys behind them. I grab my clothes and run out as I watch Wendy throw Squints on the grass.

Wendy: and stay out!

I watch as all the boys get there stuff thrown at them and I run over to Wendy.

You: oh goodness Wendy I'm so sorry. I'll make sure to smack him upside the head when I see him.

Wendy: it's fine Lilly make sure to give him a hard time

You: there all probably doing that

Wendy: I bet well I'll see you around Lilly

You: ya bye Wendy!

I wave bye before running to the boys, I reach Squints and smack him in the back of his head.

Ham: did you plan that

Squints: course I did, been planning it for years.

Ham: you guys he planned that, he knew what he was doing.

I roll my eyes and put my shorts on and my baseball jersey leaving it unbuttoned. We all start walking before I feel someone's hands wrap around my wrist and pull me too them. I slam into someone's body and I look up to see the one and only Benny.

You: what?

Benny: button that up

You: no

Benny: yes

You: why?

Benny: you really want people seeing you in just a bathing suit top?

You: it's not like it showing much

Benny: Lilly just button it up

I gasp and put my hand over my mouth before giggling.

You: Benjamin Rodriguez is jealous

Benny: no I'm not

You: yes you are, you don't want people seeing me in just a bathing suit top

Benny: your putting words into my mouth

You: your mouth just said it with out saying it

Benny: did not

You: I don't care what you say, you were jealous and we both know it.

I pull away from Bennys grasp and button up the top 3 buttons.

You; ok mr. Jealous! Better?

Benny: much

You; you were jealous!

I say before running away catching up to all of the boys who got quite a bit ahead. I run through them before stopping and turning around.

Kenny: woah Anderson coming in hot!

You: Benny is being annoying

"am not"

I turn around before seeing Benny staring behind me.

You: why is there a random baseballs over there?

All of the boys look and I make a run for it hearing Benny behind me and all of the boys laughing at the two of us. I make it to our neighbourhood before stopping and turning around. I don't see anyone so I flip down onto my front lawn before unbuttoning my shirt again.

"Now what did I tell you about those buttons"

I roll my eyes before looking up and seeing Benny again.

You; it's just our neighbourhood calm down Rodriguez!

Benny: I'll calm down when you stop calling me by my last name.

You: by the way that's four

Benny: four what's?

You: times I've beat you

Benny: again you cheated

You: you were all dumb enough to fall for that so it's not my fault this time.

You: that's another thing you say when you can't think of anything else

The grabs both my hands and pulls me to my feet before the boys walk over to us.

Ham: imagine getting beat by a girl

I give Ham the stink eye and his facial expressions immediately change into a scared look.

Bertram: she's gonna beat your ass for that one.

Benny: beat his butt. Ms. Perfect doesn't swear

You: shove it Rodriguez

Benny: button it Anderson

You: you get on my nerves sometimes

Smalls: well I gotta get back

Yeah yeah: yeah yeah me too

Kenny: I'm coming with

They all Jog off and go to there houses.

Timmy: Our mom is gonna want us home for dinner

The two of them run off as well so it's just me, Benny, Squints, and, Bertram.

You: so how was your first kiss Squints

Squints: all I could ever dream for

Bertram: I'm sure Wendy would say the same thing

He says it sarcastically

You: it definitely seemed like it afterwards, you know after she called you a pervert, dragged you by your ear, threw you on the grass, and then banned you and all your friends from the pool forever, must be true love.

Benny: damn Lilly really know how to ruin someone's dreams

You: well after it happened she said it was fine, so that's a good sign.

Squints: hell ya!

Bertram: anyways I gotta go. Squints you coming?

Squints: ya I'm coming

They walk off and it's just me and Benny like always

You: see you tomorrow

I give him a kiss on the cheek and walk inside before watching Benny run into his house. I spend the rest of my night like normal, but my mom comes up with the idea to invite the Benny and his mom over for Dinner tomorrow which I know is going to be super awkward. I go to shower all the chlorine off my body and after I get out I throw my hair into a messy bun. I change into my satin rosy pink shorts that are very short and have a black lace trim. Then the matching satin spaghetti strap crop top. I lay in my bed and don't fall asleep before hearing a sound on my window.
