"Amos." I greeted him, as Fred and I entered his small cottage.
The memorial had been outside in the summer sun - Cedric's favourite weather.
It had taken place by the willow tree we both spent so much time in and around growing up. Amos had used magic to plant a new willow tree next to the old one, in memory of Ced.
This was the first time I hadn't cried over him, and despite me feeling like I should've, I knew it was good that I was starting to realise he was gone and I couldn't do anything about it.
As we entered the Diggory home, there were a few things I noticed since I was last here a year ago.
The first thing was, that Amos had kept every picture where it was - he didn't put away picture of Cedric in a bid to hide his grief of his son, instead he kept them on the wall proud of his boy.
The second was that in the living room, the blanket Cedric had never finished making, was chucked over the sofa. Amos must've just stuffed the half done blanket to make a smaller one, because I knew he never finished it - Cedric had asked for my help with it during the summer holidays.
But of course, he never got to finish the blanket.
And the final thing was that sitting on that sofa was Cho Chang, wrapped up in Cedric's quidditch top - the one he always kept at school and had enchanted to smell like his home when he missed his dad too much - and she was completely still.
Cho wasn't sobbing, or crying like other around us, she was simply still, and was looking at her feet, whilst stroking Cedric's blanket.
Suddenly, she snapped out of it when she saw me and Fred approaching, and he quickly let go of my hand and gave me a nod - knowing me and Cho needed to speak alone.

"Hey Cho." I said softly, sitting down next to her.
"Hey Y/N." She replied, in a very quiet whisper, her throat croaky.
"Cedric loved you so much you know that right Cho? So much in fact, he used to write you love notes." This made Cho look up in confusion.
"Cedric never gave me any love notes." She stated, very confused now.
"He never gave them to you, but he wrote them - just never thought they were good enough, so he threw them in the bin..." I said, as I grabbed a bundle of around 60 notes from my pocket.
"I always went to the bin and picked them up and kept them - just in case he ever wanted to actually give them to you."
Cho laughed softly at this - typical Cedric behaviour.
She slowly untied the ribbon that had kept the notes together, and began reading through them.
Personally, I'd never actually read these notes - they were for Cedric and Cho, but I knew I had to keep them for some reason, but I'd isn't think it would be this.
Suddenly, Cho gasped. I looked at her, and saw a tear roll down her face. She looked up, but instead of bursting into tears, she was smiling.
"You kept the note from the day he asked me to be his girlfriend." She beamed at me.
"Bet you it was cheesy." I chuckled.
"It definitely was. Thankyou so much Y/N - you don't know how much this means to me." She whispered into my shoulder as she wrapped me into a big hug.
"Anything to make you feel better - it's what Cedric would want." I replied, and looking over my shoulder, I saw Fred.
He was dancing with a young girl - 4 or 5 years old - and was twirling her around and letting her out her feet on his and dance to the music. They were both laughing, which made me smile a bit more.

Fred looked over to me in that moment, and he cracked an even wider smile, and when the young girl began clinging to his leg, refusing to go, his eyes softened and we both chuckled.
It wasn't a miserable memorial service, it was filled with joy and love. Because that's what Cedric would've wanted. Us to be happy.
