《Dana and The Legend of Apollo and Daphne》It All Began With An Arm Wrestle

I eventually decide to file yesterday's account under, extremely abnormal and will never be mentioned again category in my brain. I do my best to forget and go on with normal life.
There was no sign of Apollo for days (and I wasn't complaining about it). Butch and I worked on my sword skills and hand to hand combat.
He kept telling me that kicking a guy in the groin wasn't the best way to get away from him.
I always responded with, "Well it worked twice on a god, how unreliable could it be?"
"Very," he would tell me coldly.
Butch wasn't always the easiest to get along with. Mostly because he didn't really have a good sense of humor. Sure he liked stupid humor like stuffing pencils up someone's nose, but not sarcasm.
Nevertheless, I loved him, and he was always there for me. He was one of the only people I could rely on. Besides Haidar and Simon (which apparently I was wrong about).
It was Sunday morning and I slept peacefully. Even Butch's snoring wasn't making me stir.
All was right with the world. No weird gods watching me. No monsters trying to kill me. My life was becoming somewhat normal.
But because I am the luckiest person in the world (not so subtle sarcasm) that all changed.
A knock on the door waked both me and Butch. He was on his feet before I was and sword in hand he walked to the door.
The sun had barely risen, but it's pink light was making its way through the windows. How early was it? 5 maybe 6? I wasn't sure but I did know that no one should be up this early.
I wish I was surprised by who was standing at the door. But I wasn't. Right in the doorway was Apollo. He had swapped his leather jacket for a plaid shirt, and his jeans were worn. The same pair of sunglasses sat on his head clashing with the rest of the outfit.

Right now he looked just like Simon and I could barely believe that I didn't notice the similarity when I first met him. You didn't know Apollo then. But something in me said that was a lie. I had to have met him before Simon.
"Ready for our date I see," he smiled as he looked me over.
I suddenly remembered that I sleep in a tight crop top and volleyball shorts. Now I don't know if you have ever seen volleyball shorts but they barely cover your underwear and crop tops do the same. No wonder I felt naked standing there and could feel the blood rush to my cheeks.
When Butch looked over and saw me he gave me mouthed the words "I got this," and walked outside closing the door behind him.
I ran over to my chest and pulled out some real clothes. Cargo pants with an orange camp t-shirt and Birkenstocks (very stylish I know).
Then I bravely marched to the door. What I saw... let's just say i would have been less surprised to see a griffin playing basketball. I found my brother and Apollo in an arm wrestle.
Dazed with confusion I asked, "What's going on?"
"Don't worry sweety, when I win this, we can get going on our date," Apollo said. He seemed to not be breaking a sweat.
Butch on the other hand seemed to be practically dying.
"Why are you doing this?" I directed the words at him.
I knew at that moment that I shouldn't have spoken to him. My words made him lose his concentration and his arm fell beneath Apollo's.
"Well, my love, your brother challenged me to an arm wrestle," Apollo's eyes were excited. He walked over to me and put his arm around my waist and pulled me to his side. "If I won, I could take you out, if he won I could never see you again."

"You agreed to that," I eyed Butch.
"It seemed less stupid before," He replied sadly.
"I assume your curfew is still the same," Apollo asked. I looked in his eyes and realised he was still Simon. He knew so much about me, there was no lying.
"Ya..." I didn't want to admit it.
"I'll have her back by 12," he smiled over at Butch.
Butch let out a grunt and moved to go inside. Before he got inside however he looked over at Apollo, "You better," he muttered and was gone.
Simon had always been honest about his feelings for me, but not like this. Apollo wasn't honest, honestly meant talking, he was acting on them and I wasn't sure if I like it.

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!

Ashley cheered, "but you could spice it up a bit. I mean, you barely even mentioned us." "The one with the power makes the rules and the intros," Avery admonished.
