《Make it Stop [PJO Mortal AU]》Chapter 1

Semidio High, Room 13.
The boy who sits at the desk on the right of the middle row sighs. He checks his watch. 40 minutes until school lets out. He sighs again and pushes his messy raven-black hair out of his eyes, and continues scribbling on the test.
A blonde-haired boy next to him circles all of the Cs, and messily scrawls his name at the top of the page. Jason Grace, he writes, and gets up to put his test into the bin. As he walks there, he accidentally collides with a brown-haired girl in front of him.
The brown-haired girl is used to being ignored. But for the first time, she watches as the blonde boy she crashed into mutters a "sorry," and she is surprised that he sounds sincere. She stands still as he turns his test in, and returns to his seat.
A blonde girl sitting by the window stares at the words on her test, letting them float around in her vision. She knows all the concepts, but her brain is tired and she wants to rest. Her grey eyes scan the sheet before she circles all her answers somewhat tiredly, and turns her test in.
Behind her, an obsidian haired boy with a black jacket and pale skin looks around warily, as if he's surrounded by enemies. His test is finished, but it's left there on his desk. The boy's eyes seem sunken and pitch black, like his soul has been shattered. Which, in a way, it has.
On the other side of the room sits a bulky Chinese-Canadian boy, who has already finished and turned in his test. He chooses this time to look around, then pulls out a book from his desk and starts flipping through it, not really paying attention.

In front of him, a few rows forward, is a girl with golden eyes and frizzy brown hair. She's wearing a pleated schoolgirl dress and a crisp shirt, that seems a bit small. The girl often tugs at the collar like she wants to loosen it, and she twists one of the buttons on the shirt, pulling and tugging until it almost comes off.
Two desks to the left of her is a punk-looking girl, with spiky black hair and a black jacket with buttons brandishing band names attached to it. Her eyes are electric blue, and she glares at everyone in range. However, the people on the receiving end of her glares notice that they seem half-hearted, not as piercing as her usual glares. What they don't know is how angry she is, angry with the world. Because life broke her.
