《The Lyrics That Defined Us.》hidden in the sand.

We were playing in the sand,
And you found a little band
You told me you fell in love with it
Hadn't gone as I had planned,
When you had to bid adieu,
Said you'd never love anew
I wondered if I could hold it and fall in love with it too
You told me to buy a pony
But all I wanted was you
—
Eddy was drunk.
Extremely, extremely drunk.
Maybe that's why he doesn't see anything properly. Well in his defence, why shouldn't he be? It's his birthday. He's turning 19. "You still have one year, to prove yourself that Brett cares about you." A voice in his mind said, not belle though. Every five years, Brett had said right? But it never meant that he would wish him every five years. It meant that he would wish him every year, but every fifth year would be special.
And that was decided when he was still...
... his best friend.
Now? Now, he is just someone. Someone from the past, forgotten as time ticked by. A close friend from the past who drifted away. Drifted apart.
So why was Eddy still sitting on his barstool at 10:23 PM wishing for a birthday message from a certain person named on his contact list when he had his new 'best' friends around him?
Well the answer is because he's drunk.
Atleast that's what he thinks.
There's no way the real Eddy would still wait for a reply, right? Why should he? Why would he? When he, himself didn't wish Brett a Happy 20th Birthday, even though he really wanted to?
"Dude you okay?" Soo-Lin shouted over the loud music. Eddy nodded plastering a huge smile, that came out of no where. Mary, was sitting on his lap, left hand lovingly around his neck. His hand underneath her black crop top.

And when he said lovingly, he meant lovingly.
Mary, 19 as well, was a medical student from Eddy's class. Ever since their first not-so-friendly encounter in their hallway, where they both crashed into each other, leading to a string of apologies from the boy and string of curses from the girl, they kind of magically grew attached to each other. "Dude, you owe me 20 minutes in life." The girl said, looking dead into Eddy's eyes, they were definitely very beautiful. "Why?" Eddy asked. "It's gonna take sometime to fix these papers that you've strewn across the floor, wouldn't it?" Mary had said, with a playful smile tugging at her lips, making it very distracting for the boy to pay full attention. "No problem. I saw that you had numbered them. But if you really would like me spend 20 minutes on you, I know a place." And with that Eddy calmly walked away. Leaving a very flustered Mary behind. Who knew twenty minutes would turn into, now, ten months?
Now Mary was the love of Eddy's life. And Eddy was the love of Mary's.
But wait, there was someone else extremely beautiful in the crowd too. Only problem was that, that the person was not visible to Eddy. His drunk hazy vision was literally killing him on the inside, he couldn't see the attractive person right 40 feet away from him.
"Wait, why did the person stop dancing?" He asked himself, the person was looking in his direction. His features were visible but not properly. Short, definitely an out-going person (going by the wild dancing), wears glasses too, just like Mary, has a good sense of dressing. Oh, wait, the cheekbones and jawlines are sharp as blades. "Beautiful" Eddy's mind wanted to say, but Mary's perfume came in the way of the thoughts. He looked towards the girl in his lap. Who was, thankfully, visible. Her smile, god her smile, was killing and the best thing was she wasn't smiling at any one else, just at Eddy. A smile reserved just for Eddy. "I love you, Eddy. Hope you had a great evening." She mumbled in his hair and kissed his cheek. "But baby, we gotta go now, it's late." She said.

"NO! Just twenty minutes more! Please Mary? I just met a hot guy!" Soo-Lin shouted. Mary looked behind at her friend and smiled, "Okay but just twenty! I'll book a cab in fifteen minutes!" She shouted back. Eddy rubbed Mary's back, "Baby, wanna have another drink?" Mary's eyes widened, "A big, whopping nope." Ah, such an angel. Eddy pouted but soon his lips got enclosed with softer ones. "You've had enough, Ed. No more." She said stifling a soft moan as Eddy played with her ear while kissing her jaw. "Okay, babe. You're right."
Eddy was a bit surprised when Mary suddenly jumped off of his lap. His body had grown used to her weight on it. "Where you going, babe?" Mary giggled, "To tell Rob that I'll be booking a cab in five minutes. He's too busy grinding on some girls. I'm just gonna go and ruin their mood!" She said while kissing her favourite spot on Eddy's cheek.
Well, then Mary was gone. For sometime and that person from before was way closer. He was visible now. "Woah, hold up. He's a man." Eddy's mind said. "Do you know him?" Eddy shook his head a "no" to rely to himself. "Do you find him cute? Seriously?" Eddy's mind asked, to which his mind replied, "No but maybe a little bit." His mind replied again, "Great reply, Eddy."
Eddy's eyes were closed but they shot open Rob screamed, "Dude that guy likes you!" Eddy clutched his shirt for dear life and only stopped when he heard his girlfriend's cute giggles behind the big man. "Yeah Eddy, I saw him looking at you for a long time too!" Mary spoke, stretching the word 'long'. He would've shrugged it off but something held his shoulders down and he was incapable of doing so. He took one last look at his mobile screen and sighed heavily. "Guys I guess it's time to go then?" Eddy said. He could stand up properly, much to a surprise, considering how drunk he was. His walk was proper too. Mary and Soo-Lin, the angels, led all the drunk men to the car. As soon as the cool air from the air conditioning in the cab hit Eddy's face, he felt his eyes droop. "I love you too, Mary." Realising he never actually said it back. Mary lovingly put Eddy's left palm on her thigh and placed his neck a way that Eddy and Mary both were comfortable. But before completely leaning down on his girlfriend and falling asleep, Eddy took one last look behind him, with a little hope to see that man outside the bar. Well, he did.
That man was kissing someone else.
Like an absolute animal.

Primacy Online
Life on Earth was nearly eradicated in World War III, but using alien technology, the Patriarch of the Church of the Resurrection built a new society from the ashes. He created what he called the Constructed Reality MMORPG, Primacy Online, a world so real that the players could not distinguish it from reality. After outlawing wars between the city-states on Earth, he declared that all wars would be fought inside the world of Primacy Online. Thirteen hundred years later, the release of Primacy Online VI: Legacy of Balor signals the beginning of World War IX. Players from Earth's city-states will be locked in cryogenic capsules and play Primacy Online in War Mode. Their achievements in the game will determine the victory rankings of their city-states, but if they die in the game, they will die for real. Patrick Armagh found flaws in the game mechanics of Primacy Online and exploited them to rise to the peak of the game. But when the Church declared he was cheating, he was perma-banned from the game. Now, the Church has declared that Patrick and all the other perma-banned cheaters will be included in a special Church group for World War IX, where they can earn redemption for their sin of cheating. However, Morgan Danan, Speaker of the City of Mann, and the generally acknowledged number one player of Primacy Online, has a deal for Patrick. With her help and his method of cheating, he has the chance to become a virtual god within Primacy Online, but by taking up her offer, he will become an enemy of the Church. Like a significant percentage of Primacy Online players, Patrick suffers from an ultimately fatal, degenerative nervous system disorder. He has less than five years to live. With death staring him in the face and nothing to live for, he accepts Morgan Danan's offer, and once again, enters Primacy Online as Crom Cruach, a disgraced legend. Will Crom Cruach, once again, become a legend, or will he be destroyed by the Church? What secrets has the Church hidden inside the game?
