《Hire an Incubus》1.

It was a cold winter evening and Lisa was sitting on her bed, wrapped up in a blanket. She was trying not to look at the garish poster which had come through her mailbox earlier that day. She should have just thrown it in the trash but against her better judgement, here she was, sitting on the bed with an advertisement for the most out there organization she could imagine.
Hire an Incubus.
The organization's aims were very simple. To provide a service for men or women who were well, lonely is the best way she could put it. When the supernatural had started coming into the open and mixing with the human population, of course businesses like this were bound to start up, and by God did they. Incubi were sex demons and of course if they were living among humans, they would have to make a living and of course what better to make a living out of than what you did best?
Lisa felt strange about the whole thing, she felt no need to judge what other people did, it was none of her business. However she was almost certain that it was something that she would never do.
Yet here she was looking down at the glossy poster that was leering at her. 'Tired of human men?' It read 'Need something better in your life?' It questioned further, an illustration of a woman which resembled something one would see on a 50s poster. The whole poster had a 50s theme which was ironic considering how sleek and fashionable incubi were these days. You could pick them out from a crowd in the city, all tall and incredibly alluring. The poster was a cheesy yellow, which made the illustrations pop out. In a little bubble of text it read;
'Easy!
Fun!
Discreet!'
This was also painfully ironic too, how was this in any way discreet? They were literally shoving their advertisements through doors, everyone knew about them.
Nope. Lisa had decided, she didn't really mind the solitude that much, who cared if she hadn't been with a guy in ages? Certainly not her. There was absolutely no way that she was engaging in this, she didn't really have the nerve anyway. There was no way she was calling that number. It didn't matter how hard it was for her to talk to guys, there wasn't a chance she was going to to call that number. No way.
The phone rang for a few minutes before an operator answered. It was a woman, with a bright sunny voice, not at all seedy or sleazy like Lisa had imagined.

'Hello, this is Hire-an-Incubus, you're speaking to Debbie, how can I help you?'
Lisa's voice was shaky and embarrassed, she didn't know why but she felt quite awkward on the phone, she was probably about to sound rude to poor Debbie.
'Yes, um..hello, I'd like to...um avail of your services.'
From the smoothness of her response, Lisa figured that Debbie was probably very well used to dealing with awkward customers. Especially like herself.
'Yes, that's fine, there's just a few questions I have to ask if that's okay with you?'
'Oh yes that's fine!' Lisa said, finding her voice again.
Debbie proceeded to ask a few questions in relation to her being over 18 and her preferences in a partner, it didn't take that long and Lisa was convinced if it had have taken longer she would have hung up. It was strange sharing intimate details with a complete stranger and a demon at that.
'Andddd.. just your first name and address please so I can log you into the system, don't worry we're totally confidential, our call lines are very secured and we delete all information after your session has expired.' She could almost hear the saleswoman smile that was probably on Debbie's undoubtedly beautiful demon face right now.
Giving her address and first name, Lisa relaxed as Debbie assured her that someone called Adam would be over shortly and that she could give payment after. She still felt quite uneasy in herself, she really couldn't believe she was doing this. But in a way, she was kind of excited.
However after an hour of waiting, things seemed to be looking down.
'How typical.' she thought 'Of course, even at an organization designed to serve this purpose, the guy still blanks me.'
Confused and actually feeling slightly hurt by this catastrophe of an evening, Lisa decided just to go to bed and forget the whole embarrassing situation. She was just about to fall asleep when her mobile started to ring, looking at the number, Lisa did a double take. It was Hire an Incubus, perhaps they were going to explain what had happened or something.
'Hello?' Lisa said sleepily.
'Hello, Lisa this is Debbie, I'm terribly sorry about this but I'm going to have to request that you come into our office...There's been an...error that we need to speak to you about.'
'Excuse me?' Lisa said, completely shocked, typical that the one time she decided to do something a little risque, something would go wrong.

'Um.. I can come in tomorrow morning if that's okay.'
There was a pause on the line followed by a shaky sigh. 'I'm afraid I have to ask that you come in right away, we can send a car to pick you up.'
Lisa sat up in bed. What? This was madness. After gathering herself she replied softly; 'I suppose that's okay then.'
And that was the story of how at twelve on a winter night, Lisa was on her way in the back of a very expensive car to the office of Hire an Incubus. The driver had said a polite hello to Lisa as she had got in the car in sweatpants that she had thrown on right after the call had ended and although she only caught a glimpse of him, she could tell he was incredibly good looking. They all were.
The office was located at a sleekly designed building, with all black tinted windows. When she stepped inside, she was taken aback, the view was amazing. Everything was made of marble, the walls, the floor, even the reception. Hire an Incubus really weren't playing around when it came to decoration.
The reception desks were long and spanned along the whole room and at each desk there were beautiful looking operators and Lisa could conclude that they all were not human. Walking up to main reception desk, where a man was stationed, Lisa nervously spoke, after clearing her throat.
'Excuse me, I'm...um..here to see Debbie.'
The man peered down, looking surprised, it was probably that a human had just walked in, which Lisa was guessing never happened.
'Oh, hello, are you Lisa by any chance?'
Lisa nodded with a slight smile and then the man came from behind the desk.
'Come with me please.' His name tag read 'Adrian' and he was very handsome with dark eyes and hair. Lisa was starting to see why so many women and men had rang in, these guys were ridiculously flawless physically.
Lisa followed him into a another room where there was a man and a woman looking worriedly at a monitor.
Lisa caught snatches of their conversation as they walked up to the two.
'He's very dangerous...'
'Possessive...sees everything as a game, a challenge.'
Adrian cleared his throat and the woman turned to face them. 'Deb, this is Lisa.'
Debbie smiled at Lisa and swallowed. She was stunning. Her eyes were a glistening blue, and her hair was soft and blond and fell in curls down to her waist. Just looking into her eyes made Lisa's stomach feel funny.
'Hello Lisa, I'm Debbie and this is Adam.' She said, shaking her hand.
Adam was equally gorgeous with chocolate eyes and tanned olive skin. His hair was dark and tousled, and much like looking at Debbie, Lisa felt a funny feeling in the pit of her stomach. He nodded politely and Debbie continued to speak.
'I really am sorry for calling you in at such a late time but I am afraid I have something that must be discussed with you.'
'Yes?' Lisa replied with a worried expression.
'Well, secure as our are, unfortunately, there was an...administrative error and well...your details were forwarded to the wrong person.'
'What do you mean?' Lisa said, becoming increasingly worried and slightly awkward. What if they had been forwarded to someone she knew, what if they were published somewhere and everyone knew what she had been up to?
'Well, your details were intended for Adam here but for some reason they were forwarded to someone who shouldn't even be on our system.'
Debbie shifted uncomfortably and Lisa could visibly see her gulp as she turned to step out of the way of a monitor which had an image of a person.
'His name is Achilles, he is, well he was with us here but he was dismissed and blacklisted for his very controversial views and methods.'
Lisa looked up at Debbie in disbelief, she still didn't understand what was going on.
Adam spoke up for the first time and his voice was solemn and low with what Lisa placed as an Italian accent. 'He's dangerous, reckless and loves a challenge.'
'Well that's a very cheesy speed dating introduction...' Lisa murmured as she leaned forwards to look at the image which was displayed on the screen.
She saw two stormy grey eyes and a playful smirk. Only looking at the image gave her chills.
Adam looked up awkwardly as if he was struggling to find words to say and then he spoke softly in a slightly accented, worried voice.
'We have reason to believe you'll be his next challenge.'
