After the events of the night; Niklaus decided to stay with the Lockwood family in the mansion. Stefan skipped town after saving the hybrid, Damon returned home to drown his sorrows, Caroline had a sleepover with Elena and Bonnie and somehow...everyone managed to forget about the vulnerable blind girl who still sat waiting in the guest room for Nik to return.
"Ariana!" Carol Lockwood gasped in shock when she entered the guest room the next day, the younger Gilbert twin was sat on the edge of the bed, fiddling with her bracelet.
"Mrs Lockwood?"
"Hello, what happened? Do you need me to take you home?" The elder lady queried as she walked to stand in front of the girl.
"I'm okay, Niklaus brought me here but he never came back..." She trailed off, a lump filling her throat as she thought about the events.
"Oh, should I get him? He's with Tyler"
"That's okay...maybe I should of stayed at Juilliard" she whispered.
"Why would you say that?"
"Because nobody wants me to be here, I think it'd be better if I left" she stood abruptly and walked down the stairs, her hand trailing along the wall.
"Ariana wait!" The mayor yelled as she ran down the stairs, the blind girl didn't stop however until she reached the door.
"I can't stay here!" Ariana sobbed out, she just wished she could see, so that everyone would treat her like an eighteen year old rather than a kid.
"Ariana, just wait for a while okay? Then I will take you home"
"I can't" she sobbed and the mayor took the sweet girl in her embrace. Ariana had always been Carol's favorite twin, no matter how bad that sounded, Aria was sweet and kind, unlike Elena.

"Shh Ari" the mayor attempted as they sat on the sofa together, the girl still sobbing into her shoulder.
"They forgot about me"
"I'm sure that's not true"
"They all just want me out of the way mayor Lockwood."
Niklaus and Tyler sat in the study talking to one another, discussing the hybrids when they heard a ruckus break out in the other room, they listened and heard Carol shouting for someone to wait; Ariana.
When Klaus heard that name, he froze, as did Tyler. They couldn't believe they'd forgotten about her. With everything that happened with Mikael, it easily slipped the originals mind and Tyler had gotten too drunk to remember Klaus's orders to check on her.
"Oh my God" Tyler gasped and exited the study, flanked by Klaus who found Ariana crying on the couch in Carols arms.
"Ari"
"Ty?" She stood and stumbled toward his voice, quickly being lifted into a hug.
"Ariana" she heard the harmonious voice from her dreams whisper and she turned, feeling warm hands pressed against her shoulders, she instantly recognized the touch as Nik and she stumbled into his arms.
"You never came back"
"I'm sorry little love, a lot happened"
"Oh" was all she said and pulled back, her hands twitching and her eyes blank and hollow as ever.
"Do you want me to take you home Aria?" Tyler asked her and she shook her head roughly.
"No, can you just call Damon for me please"
"Sure" the younger hybrid pulled out his phone and called the vicious older Salvatore, placing the phone in Ariana's outstretched hand.
"Hello?"
"Damon?" She chocked and heard him gasp instantly.
"Ariana, where are you monkey? I've been looking for you everywhere. Caroline said she lost you at the party. I'm so sorry A, I should have stayed with you."

"It's okay, I'm still at Tyler's house."
"You've been there all night?"
"Yes, I waited for someone to come and get me but no one did"
"It's okay Ari. I'm so sorry that this happened, I'm on my way okay little one?"
"Yes, be quick please, I want to go home"
"I'm coming kid" the phone cut off and she stretched her hand out in front of her, the phone on her palm, waiting for Tyler to take it.
"Ariana love" Klaus captured her waist as she tried to walk to the door "please talk to me"
"I have to go and wait for Damon" she spoke in a monotone tune.
"I'm sorry okay?"
"You said we could be abominations together" her lip quivered gently and he sighed, she was so vulnerable yet so valuable to everyone.
"I know what I said Ariana, and I said that I'm sorry!" He released her waist instantly, he hated saying sorry at the best of times, she should appreciate that he said it at all.
"I'm going now" she forced out and she walked to he door, leaving an angry Klaus behind her. The second she exited the door, Klaus grabbed an antique vase and threw it directly at the wall in fury.
Ariana heard a shatter and shuddered but continued walking down the steps, feeling someone lift her up.
"Let's get you home monkey" Damon sighed and carried her to his fancy blue car.

Would your life change forever? Would you become a King amongst men? OF COURSE NOT! For the heavens are fair and they shall maintain the balance of the realm, no matter what the case. Why turn me into a monster who sees all yet cannot participate in the competition for power that you have arranged? WHY HAVE THE HEAVENS FORSAKEN ME? From birth I saw everything, nothing could escape my sight. However, the heavens made me a cripple, they put me in the shadows and I can’t help but yearn for the light. Why am I still of the living then? Well, Why should I give the Heavens the satisfaction of seeing me give up? I will not submit to the heavens nor will I submit to the bastards that wish to use me. All I can do now is continue to rebel against everything. All I can do is continue to battle the Heavens in my heart. I shall carve out a new path for all those like me, a path that will go against the very constitution of this world. How will I do this? I do not know. But I will! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will upload a chapter a day on Royalroad (maybe more) however if you want more of the story at a quicker pace then go to fantasy-books.live. There are currently 110+ chapters of Path of Blood there. P.S - I started Path of Blood about a year ago so the first fifteen chapters have some problems character wise however I'm currently working with an editor to remedy these to make the story a better read. Anyway, these issues don't last long and since Pob is a story that rewards the patient, only those who've read till the latest will understand how good the story really is....I designed it to get better with every ark, surprises planned at every corner and the eventual ending of Pob will definitely not dissapoint, so stick around and give it a chance. :D
