"What's taking so long?" Klaus wondered aloud, one arm wrapped securely around the waist of his favourite doppelganger and as always, said girl, Ariana was taken aback by the way he addressed others around him. "All boundary spells have a loophole." Ariana tapped his chest at this, in a silent usher for patience and he chuckled lowly, his hand moving to hold hers with a soft caress. The door soon clicked, disrupting Klaus' speech.
"People are walking right out of the dance, passed the barrier" Matt announced as he entered in an out of breath fashion.
"Well if Matt and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves" Jeremy announced from where he stood and Ariana froze momentarily at the thought of her brother leaving to fight the ancient original, Klaus' warm arms brought her back to reality once more, a soft kiss placed to her temple. "We just gotta find out where she is"
"Suicide, Jeremy" Stefan announced and Ariana wondered toward where she presumed the Salvatore brothers sat, being caught up in Damon's arms quickly and being gently dragged to sit upon the table beside him as they witnessed the scene unfold. There was a flash and Ariana flinched further into Damon's arms, hearing the struggle of someone's ragged breathing.
"Suicide would be disappointing me" Klaus informed and Ariana sighed, knowing that he was about to start threatening someone again. "Now work your magic, Witch, or I'll start killing people you fancy" he announced.
"Let him go" Bonnie was angered, they all were. Just as the original hybrid became somewhat bearable he had to do something such as this to reinforce their hatred rather than working as a team to get the job done.
"Not until you get us out of here." Klaus smirked.
"Ah, don't be stupid Klaus, Bonnie doesn't give a damn about us" Stefan's footsteps were heard beneath the sound of his confident tone. Damon was sat surprisingly quietly at the doppelgangers side. "The only reason she is helping right now is to save Caroline and Tyler." at this notion, the doppelganger pondered if it could be possibly true, surely the witch cared slightly for Damon and Stefan after everything they had all been through? "If you start killing the people she cares about, she'll tell us all to go to hell." Niklaus did not seem to be listening to the vampires words and Ariana was done with the games.

"Nik, this isn't speeding anything up." Ariana announced and they were surprised to hear the confidence in her tone, a clear indicator that she did not fear the blond man. Klaus sighed, looking around the room, his blue eyes lingering on his beautiful doppelganger partner before dropping the poor boy to his feet once more.
"Ariana love" Klaus sighed, jumping into a seat beside her and wrapping his warm arms around her waist, her scent calming him from causing death to those around him. Ariana snuggled into him before screaming loudly, her hands slamming to her ears as they rang out in pain. All around her, people were ushering for her, the hybrid calling her name in horror before she collapsed off the table into the arms of Damon and soon, the words of those around them were as though she heard them through water, a new scene forming in the words of people who were not even present.
"Ric, This isn't what you want" Elena pestered urgently and Ariana stiffened, knowing that she was hearing a scene from somewhere else though having absolutely no clue how it was happening as Damon still held her tenderly in his arms, soothingly as she hiccupped through the pain.
"Lena" Ariana whispered, hearing the worry and horror in her twins voice and not overly caring that the two had fallen out, Elena was in trouble.
"It's not who you are" she attempted.
"You don't know who I am, Elena" he demanded somewhat angrily.
"Alaric" Ariana breathed out, hearing the crackle of fire and knowing that they were somewhere performing magic.
"You only know the weakest parts of me, a man who lost his way."
"No!" Ariana sobbed as realisation dawned on her suddenly, this was why the barrier was up, Esther was there with them and now she announced herself.

"The sweet doppelganger, Ariana is here with us." the mother original informed those around her and Elena gasped in horror.
"Where?"
"Linked, within you, her twin sister, bread identically." The mother stated.
"Why are you doing this to us? To her?" Elena wondered.
"You are stronger together, double the power of a single doppelganger and as she is now too busy trapped alongside my hybrid son, I will have to access her through you. The pair of you shall be one now."
"They're all monsters." Alaric stated, looking over at the girl he used to consider a daughter. "The blood of their victims is on my hands, Jenna's blood is on my hands" he stated and the seeing doppelganger suddenly became quiet and Ariana felt fear run through her and worry and she knew that they were not her own emotions, she was truly one with Elena now. Both two parts of a whole, living the moment together whilst the vampires in the classroom raged in confusion.
"When you are ready" Esther prompted.
"No Ric, please don't" the words came out of Elena's mouth in worry and Ariana was shocked to find her own mouth moving, the tone spilling out lower than usual as she played the mockingbird of Elena, repeating the scene to those worrying for her in the classroom. "Don't do this" both doppelgangers pled in identical tones, miles away from each other though joined by their brains and genetics. Still, all Ariana saw was darkness. "I won't help you, I'm not gonna give you my blood." Ariana and Elena pled to different audiences. "You're gonna have to kill me."
"That wont be necessary." Esther stated "Besides, if I kill you, Ariana shall die. You would not want that would you? This link is a good thing Elena, I wonder, if with time and a little bit of magic... Ariana will be able to adopt your ability through this link, the ability to see. I am certain she would appreciate that" Esther informed and Ariana choked out.
"That can happen?" Ariana inquired, Elena shocked to find her own mouth moving and a sweet tone of her twin exiting, they were now a two way passage into one another's bodies.
"Oh yes, the longer you are linked, the more and more similar you will become until you truly are the same person, just in two separate bodies." Esther smirked knowingly, she then held her fist upwards, ending the peaceful conversation and Elena gasped out as her chest became tight. Ariana freezing in unison, gasping for air also, her own hand clasping the white beaded dress she wore which was so similar to that of her sisters. Both girls whimpered out as slits formed along their palms identically. The girls tones became a mix, forming together, no longer was the whimpering separate, it was one and neither differentiable as Ariana's or as Elena's... for now, the two girls were one.

The Morrigan
Reality started crumbling the day I died and reincarnated. The enigmatic God offered some answers, but at the same time created more questions. Given a goal both absurd and ambiguous, I choose to start my new life. It sounded good and all, but first, I would have to avoid being eaten by my new family, or killed by the inhabitants of this new world. This is the story of how I tried to stay human when the world pushed me to become something else. A Swarm. Writing for fun and as a way to improve my English. Overpowered protagonist haters begone. The cover isn’t from my authorship, I just found it on the internet.

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

They didn't move for a thousand years... "Admiral Grant," the King suddenly shouted. The soldier's head snapped up in surprise. "Yes, Your Majesty?" "Wake the Giant." The rust peeled off like dead skin, falling into the ocean and revealing the shining metal body beneath. The ground shook as the gears began to turn, their grinding heard for miles. Story based in the same universe as my other story, Gamer's Guide to Waking up as a Dinosaur.
