Brody's POV
"Oh Brody. That was amazing, but not how I remember it. I finally realize that Mason is the one and only one I love. There weren't any sparks between us like there used to be." Lucy said, apologizing.
I nodded my head agreeingly. "I figured that out 7 years ago. The minute you became my sister, I knew it was wrong, but I thought I could make it work, but it just felt wrong to me. Sure, being with Autumn in wrong too, but it's a good kind of wrong. It just feels right to me."
"I'm really sorry Brody. I shouldn't have tried to get between you two. I can tell you really love her...the way you look at her and the way she looks at you, that's something we never had and I guess I was just jealous."
I smiled at her. "It's fine. Now that you know we can only be brother and sister, I think everything will be fine from now on. Now how about we get dressed. Autumn should be back soon...and Mason too."
"Ok." We both got out of bed and dressed ourselves.
"Oh and Lucy? Autumn doesn't have to know about this, right?" I asked.
"Right." She said confidently.
"Know about what?" Autumn asked, appearing in the doorway.
I looked at Lucy for help. She looked back at me with wide eyes. "Uhhh..." Lucy said, thinking. "That I'm not his biological sister." She replied, thinking on the spot. I gave Lucy a thankful look
Autumn looked back and forth from me to Lucy with a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"I was adopted into this family when I was 12 years old....Brody was 19 at the time. But there's something you should know about us Autumn...we used to date. I was in middle school, but I looked a lot older than I really was...I looked about 16 and so Brody thought I was a teenager when he first met me...this was before I was adopted. We started going out when I was 11, but Brody didn't mind dating a child that looked older and his parents didn't either. We went out for about a year and then both my parents died in a car accident, much like yours did only I was an only child. Well, Brody's parents were kind enough to bring me into the family since they didn't want to split us apart. We continued our relationship for another year until Brody left without a single word. Over the next 7 years, I started to forget about him. At age 15 I became a model, and on one of my shoots, I met Mason, who became the love of my life. I married him when I turned 18 and we moved to Connecticut to have a quiet life away from all the hustle and bustle of the modeling industry and paparazzi. Models need their privacy too." Lucy explained.

Autumn stood there and listened to Lucy's story. "That's....quite a story." Was all she could say.
"Indeed it is. But don't worry. I love Mason very much so Brody's all yours."
Autumn laughed. "Thanks."
"Alright then. Autumn, it's almost time for your surprise" I stated.
"And that means I better get going." Lucy said walking out. "See you later!"
"Can't you tell me what it is now?" Autumn pleaded.
"No. Now go get changed into that evening gown my mother made you buy."
Autumn gave me a surprised look. "That's why she forced me to try on every dress in the store?"
I nodded.
Autumn shook my head. "Alright. Wait until you see it on me. It's absolutely gorgeous." She ran into the bathroom and closed the door, bringing the tons of shopping bags with her. I took the time to get changed into a white button down shirt and black dress pants while she was getting ready. A few minutes later, Autumn came out and looked absolutely stunning. I stood there admiring her...I was speechless. "Well, what do you think?" she asked me, doing a little spin.
Autumn was wearing a floor length dark purple dress that flowed out at h her hips. it was strapless and simple, but Autumn made it look amazing. There were silver sparks at the hem of the dress and a little flower brooche on the top right of the dress. Her hair was done in curls and she had on a small amount of make up...not that she needed it. She was just naturally beautiful. I walked up to her and pulled her towards me from her waist. "You are absolutely stunning."
"Really?" She said starting to blush. She's so cute when she blushes.

"Really." I stated. I tilted my head down to kiss her. "We better get going." I said pulling away. I grabbed her hand and led her down the stairs. My entire family was waiting down at the bottom of the staircase, taking pictures of us.
"Wait! stop right there on that step. I want to get a shot of you posing together." Lucy said excitedly.
We did as she told us and then continued all the way down after she took the picture. "You do know this isn't prom night, right?" I asked them sarcastically.
"Oh we know, but we didn't get any pictures of you on your prom night...so this is closest thing we have." Lily said.
"Alright, well goodnight everyone. We'll see you later." I said opening the door for Autumn and waving goodbye to my family. I closed the door and led Autumn over to a limo.
"A limo?" She asked amazed.
I nodded my head. "Anything and everything for my girl."
She smiled up at me and got in. I got in beside her and the driver started driving. "Now can you tell me where we're going?"
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. We're going to my favorite place in the country."
"And where's that?"
"You'll just have to wait til we get there to find out."

Chronicles of Xod (returning from hiatus)
After a long recovery over a chronic motion sickness issue, I feel I'm ready to return to writing this book. It might be slow at first, but I'm hoping to pick up where I left off. I apologize again for the long hiatus. The pages following are a true account. An account of how I, Josh--a teenage nerd from modern suburbia--ended up in a strange world filled with fantastic magic, bizarre creatures, and terrifying dungeons. Despite the troped-up fantasy feel of the world, this is hardly an ordinary tale. For one, don’t expect a happy ending. With the trials I’ve been through, the horrors I’ve seen and the atrocities I’ve committed, believe me when I tell you, this is not a happy tale filled with friendly rainbow bears or teenage flying unicorns. It’s more likely you’ll finish this book mentally scarred as I will not spare the details of my unfortunate adventures. With the help of my trusted companion Gui, I gain an insight that no one else in the world has. This knowledge allows me to exploit and, for lack of a better term, metagame the system which gave me a clear advantage over its residents. “With great power...,” someone might begin to quote to me. In my defense, I think maybe even you, reader, might have acted similarly with how this reality changed my view of good and evil. This story will be updated regularly on Wednesdays around 6 PM. There will only be about 1000 words per update. The focus is to finish the story before doing any major changes or editing. Please read as if this is a work in progress, not a finished product. Feel free to let me know if you see any error, whether glaring or minor. If you help me out, I'll be sure to add you to a thank you list at the front of the book when it is published. Chronicles of Xod is a first-person fantasy novel that follows the adventures of a young man from Earth. Through unknown circumstances, he finds himself in a fantasy world where life is not all wonders and happy endings. The story takes common fantasy concepts from my favorite video games, books and movies and gives them an adult edge. It also introduces some taboo concepts often glossed over by stories written for broad audiences. The style is meant to be immersive and heavily detailed. The short novel will be written in a way that attempts to bring a sense of realism to an unrealistic genre. Where there are realistic consequences and dangers in a world populated with violent monsters, cruel demons, bloodthirsty undead, and immoral bandits. In this fantasy world, the inhabitants are essentially gender blind as far as sexuality is concerned. There is also more variation amongst male and female physiology. This isn't meant to be any kind of promotion or demotion of social behavior in reality. Just a concept I thought would be an interesting idea to have in a fantasy setting. I highly discourage anyone from reading this material if you are personally concerned with being offended or traumatized. Both violent and sexual content will be graphically detailed. All characters involved in sexual scenes are mature and of the age of consent(18+).

Ruins of Dalághast
I've been writing for as long as I can remember, but I'd always been torn between different projects. That's why I decided to dedicate myself to a pretty strict schedule of writing and editing a single chapter every month since the start of 2019. This is an ongoing, work in progress novel that follows a ragtag group of sellswords as they delve into a lost city on the edge of the known world in search of their fortunes. Within, though, they find much more than they ever expected and find themselves in a race against time to unravel a mystery centuries old.
