"Have a good night" i tell everyone as i clock out and get responses from the few nurses who were not busy with patients.

As i get in my car i hear the familiar ringtone and answer.

"Hi mama" i hear through the phone and smile.

"Hey baby how was school?" I ask and she giggles.

"Good delly said hi, we had a special day, cops came today" she tells me and i almost slam my foot on the breaks. Why had there been cops in the school.

"Its career week at school and cops came today" odell says and i sigh.

"Gimme the phone!" I hear jela yell at odell before she starts talking.

"Mama we have pizza for dinner?" She ask and i think about it. Pizza is her favorite food and we havent had take out in a while.

"Ok baby tell delly invite bryson over" i say making a u turn into papa johns.

"Welcome to papa johns what can i get for you?" The teenage girl says.

"Monèt?" I hear behind me and see nicole and roll my eyes. "Crazy seeing you, what are you doing here" she chuckles.

"Buying food..." I trail off slowly.

"Same getting food for me and my boyfriend lucas he just moved here but im not sure im ready to move just yet" she says.

What?! Boyfriend? Lucas lives here now?! I turn away from her and back to the girl. "Can i get two pizzas one large meat lovers and one small cheese but half sausage 30 boneless buffalo wings and 2 large sprites" i order and pay.

"Nicole where the hell is my card?" I here lucas ask.

"I uh borrowed it, to buy us food baby" she says and i roll my eyes going to sit at the booth and wait for my food.

"Nicole get this through your head- im not your boo babe baby bae boyfriend none of that stop telling people that i wish you just leave me alone and take your delusional ass back to cali" he snaps.

"But we grew up together, you said you would never leave me" she wines and he groans snatching his card from her.

"Yeah nothing about dating youre messing up my relationships and my life, i cant even be friends with females because you. Leave me alone" he yells and her eyes water.

"Fine but dont expect me to come back to new york if you need me or get lonely" she says storming out. He breathes out relieved before turning around and seeing me.

"You didnt see that right" he ask but i just raise an eyebrow.

"Lucas i dont care about that theres something else we have to talk about" i say rubbing my sweaty palms on my scrubs.

"What, are you hurt did someone do something? Are you ok?" He asked concerned holding my face in his hands. I could see his jaw line gotten more defined his muscles more muscular and his cologne had my thoughts swirling.

"I uh..yeah im ok" i say stepping back to collect my thoughts."jela"i blurted and a smile grows on his face.

"I met you and odells daughter at school today jela lilly, i always loved the name lilly for my daughter one say, shes every bit like you. Also very smart i dont understand one thing though, how are her eyes green?" He ask and i smile.

"Jela isnt odells daughter..shes yours" i mumble and he stares at me. No i didnt want to tell him in the middle of papa johns but if i didnt say it now i never would.

"I have a daughter? He ask and i nod before he pulls me into a hug. "Im sorry so sorry i inpregnate you and then im not there for you or her" he says.

"Its not your fault" i say because i did move before she was born.

"It is, i shouldnt have left that night i shouldve stayed and held you like i wanted to" he says holding my jaw.

"We live and we learn" i say moving my jaw from his grip and unlocking my phone to show him pictures of her.

"Can i meet her?" He ask and i sigh.

"You dont hate me?" I ask shocked, i would hate me.

"Hate the mother of my child? You raised protected taught feed and clothed my baby you did what you thought was right why hate you for that?" He ask and i shrug.

"Im home" i yell walking through the door and jela tackles my legs almost instantly.

"Mommy whys lucas here?" My daughter asked and i gave her a look as he smirked walking past me

"Jela meet lucas...he's your dad"
