《Sirens in Seattle》{chapter 5}

I woke up with a jolt causing my head to severely rush.
I looked around quickly realizing I wasn't in my bed , or anywhere familiar for that matter and started panicking automatically.
I was in some type of box shaped room. Rubbing my eyes , I stood up and pulled my dress down trying to get ahold of what was going on.
My heels were off and no where to be found making me feel dirty and extra confused.
I looked around some more and realized this box I was in was more like a cell and then it hit me. I was in a holding cell.
I may have never been in one before, but I've watched way enough tv , and picked my sister up from a few to know exactly where I was.
What the hell did I do last night.
My ears and face heated up in fear as I began knocking on one small window. "Hello?" I asked and continued to knock.
I began to freak out even more when no one came, and I realized I had one of those jail shirts wrapped around my shoulders.
I let out a little scream and tossed it off my shoulders and I caught myself in the reflection. My hair was pulled into a sloppy bun, one I for sure did not do myself an I had many bruises forming on my bare legs.
I sat back down on the bench and placed my head between my legs to try to calm my breathing.
Med school 101 how to stop a panic attack.
My panic attack was interrupted when the cell door swung open. "Amelia?" an older officer asked me.
I stood up shaking my head rapidly. "Amelia Hale." I quickly confirmed.
He looked at the clip board in his hand and nodded. "Stand up and come with me."
I quickly wiped the stay tears off my face that fell and followed the officer, the only sound was the sound of my bare feet rushing to keep up with his fast strides.
The officer led me to a room full of desks. It looked like a place where people frequently were, the desks were filled with paper work and personal items.
I looked at the clock on the wall to see it was 7:00pm , everyone was already probably gone for the day.
It then hit me I've been here for a full day. Last night I remember walking out of the club and looking at my phone seeing it was around 3am.
My panic spiked to level that I didn't even know was possible when the officer had me sit at a desk in the back.
"Is this some type of integration? I didn't do anything I swear. I think if your trying to interrogate me I have rights, like a right to lawyer..." I rambled while rubbing my sweaty palms on my dress.

The officer laughed at me and shook his head."Just wait here a second." He told me before turning around and walking out of the room.
I let my thoughts get the best of me again and wiped the stray tears falling from my eyes desperately trying to remember what happened to land me here.
I heard foot steps and I slowly sat upright ready to face my fate, and demand for my rights to be allowed.
My fate ended up being closer to my hate.
Officer Phoenix Adams walked through the door and sat in front of me handing me a water bottle.
I gritted my teeth and looked up at him, my anger was so overwhelming I couldn't think of any words to spit at him.
"Woah ok let me explain." He began when he saw my face of displeasure."Last night I was patrolling and I seen you stumbling out of the club. At first I though you were another just trashed girl, but then I seen you flip those guys off and I recognized you."
I bit my lip waving my hand in his face."Ok and? That doesn't explain why I'm here."
"I tried to take you home, but you wouldn't give me your address then you fell asleep in the back of my car and I didn't know what to do with you..." He trailed off.
"SO YOU ARRESTED ME AND BROUGHT ME TO JAIL?" I shrieked at him quickly standing up and making a few papers around me fly away.
Phoenix stood up with me "I didn't know what ELS to do!"He defended. "Not to mention you threw up absolutely everywhere."
I shook my head. "You could have left me alone!" I began. "I was there with my best friend, and all I was getting was a fresh breath of air." I felt my face heat up in embarrassment at my drunken actions.
He snorted and crossed his arm. "Oh yeah a fresh breath of air from a night club you shouldn't be able to even enter."
I let out a humorless laugh and say back down in the chair. With everything stressful going on in my life , my over bearing father, a career that preoccupied 98% of my brain and having to maintain myself I thought I could just go out one night and be a normal college student.
Phoenix stayed standing over me unsure of what to say next. "You should honestly be more grateful. I pulled some strings, you were never entered into the system so technically you were never arrested. "
I bit my lip and felt a lot more realeaved with that little bit of information. So basically he just brought me here to sleep everything off, but I still couldn't help at be angry at that. Then again I was breaking the law...my mind was having a small war with itself.

If he would have just left me alone and didn't continue to shower his arrogance on me.
"You're ridiculous." I told him shaking my head. "where's my phone and wallet."
He sighed but nothing less handed them to me.
"I called your friend, the one with a M name, I told her you were safe." He explained.
I bit my lip and nodded. I gave him one last look before standing and brushing past his tall figure to leave this absolute insanity I chose to get myself into.
Me, Mia, slept in a holding cell all night because of that asshole of a cop who's probably made my week one of the worst ever.
I continued walking trying to find the front exit and trying to clear my head. If my father ever found out. That was one thing I didn't want to happen.
When I reached the the exit I walked outside and down the steps when I realized, I don't have any means of getting home. Walking in my stilettos that were given back to me at the front desk wasn't a likely option not to mention it's freezing out. Along with my tiny dress, it wasn't happening.
I sat down on some dry steps and sighed while rubbing my face in my hands.
My phone was long dead and I had no jacket.
I could go in there and use their phones, but I didn't want anyone to ever even know I was here, since I was embarrassed enough.
I sat a little longer shivering, unsure of what to do when I heard footsteps approaching behind me and slowly sit next to me.
"What more could you possibly want Officer?" I questioned Officer Phoenix sarcastically.
He but the inside of cheek before speaking. "Look I feel kinda bad about this. I didn't really think it thorough. Let me give you a ride home and maybe buy you dinner or something." He offered.
The pained look on his face showed how hard it was to swallow his pride, so I agreed just in spite of him.
He helped me up and led me around to what I assume was his actual car. It was a shiny Range Rover and I couldn't help but let my eyes widen at how nice it actually was.
"Wait" I stopped as he was getting into the drivers seat. "I can't go anywhere like this." I argued, referring back to my clubbing outfit.
He tolled his eyes, but nothingness went to the trunk and pulled out a white T shirt and a pair of grey sweats from a gym bag. "Here. They're clean." was all he stated before getting back into his car.
I eyes the clothes, a little weary but they were definitely better than what I had on. I jumped into the back seat, rather than the passenger so I could change out of his view.
"You could of sat in the front." He mumbled over the sound of the radio.
"Not a chance" I snorted, slipping off my tight dress and pulling the oversized grey sweats on , and folding them down on the waist so they wouldn't slide off of me. I slipped on the T shirt next, tying it into a front knot so I didn't look so baggy.
After I changed I finally sat forward and put my seatbelt on, unsure of what to say to cut the awkward silence.
"You can call me Phoenix, or Nix." He broke it first, glancing at me in the mirror.
"Mia." I replied simply.
Outside the rain drizzle was starting to pick up and the streets became darker with water and the sky seemed to match it. There was people scrambling around to pull out umbrellas and get out of the harsh weather.
I was snapped out of looking at the surroundings when Phoenix interrupted me. "So what do you want to eat?"
I looked around and seen a Denny's Sign that caught my attention. I pointed at the brightly lit sign and nodded my head, "That's fine."
He made a quick turn and pulled into the parking lot.
"I can't go out there I'll get soaked." I realized out loud, gesturing to the pretty much all cotton outfit I was wearing. Phoenix huffed at me but nothing less took off his PD coat and handed it to me.
I slipped it on before bolting from the car and into the restraunt with him behind me.
I chose a booth farthest away from the few people in the place.
Phoenix awkwardly sat across from me before looking around.
"What ,never been to a restaurant before ?" I said under my breathe while looking at the menu mentally picking what he wanted.
"Not in a long time." He mumbled back shrugging. "I prefer to make my own food."
I looked up into his green eyes and sighed. This one going to be one hell of a dinner.
