(Outfit is what I imagine Mia's dress to look like)
After the party incident, Phoenix treated me to another stack of blueberry pancakes at Denny's.
It wasn't until the next day when I was sitting in my couch and studying that I realized he interred his number into my contacts.
The night I discovered it , I couldn't let myself sleep because my thumb hovered over the send button after I typed a simple .
Phoenix was indecisive. He could be sweet when he tried, but even his sweetness was laced with sarcasm and rudeness.
I honestly didn't want to text him, I had school to focus on, not boys, but something forced my thumb to press send when my head was screaming no with a capital N and O. My mind also got a big fat told ya so. When responded
The next few days were sent with light texting and joking , most of the time I couldn't tell if he was being nice or insulting me.
My sleeps habits were amazing ever since winter break started. I made a mental list of everything I needed to do over the break and visiting my family was one of the dreaded thing I had to do.
Don't get me wrong I love my family and are so grateful for them but my father had a way of turning a simple visit or joke into a year long lecture or criticism. I would avoid visiting him, but i knew my sister Ellie would be home and I wouldn't miss a chance visiting her or my mom.
Once I rolled out of bed on my first Saturday of break after a nap around 6 I checked my phone expecting to see a text from Phoenix but instead it was Minnie.
"Hey girlie, holiday party tonight at Jeremy's friend want to join?"
I thought about it and decided I needed to get out my apartment no matter how cozy it was and how great the TV was.
"Yeah, just tell me the place and time and I'll be there." I swiftly replied.
"Yay! 9:00 1234 West Albumm"
I clicked my phone off and grabbed my towel to hurry and get ready since I had to factor in shaving and makeup time.
I curled my hair to make my outfit seem fancier than what it really was.
I grabbed my car keys and wallet and glanced at my outfit one more time in the mirror before leaving.
I opted for a red bodycon type dress. The straps were thin and the top was V shaped, allowing my boobs to appear slightly larger. I added a fake diamond chocker, with red heels that matched the dress.
I grabbed my white coat and headed out, trying to break in my shoes as quickly as possible, since they were fresh out of the box.
The ice on the roads was highly visible so I drove extremely slow, even if it did earn me a few horns. Better safe than sorry.

The sky was dark and the weather had a chill that rattled your bones. I was light weight regretting coming because of how long it took me to get there because of the conditions not to mention I would have to drive home too.
My gps of course for some reason took the long way around.
I finally pulled up on a large two story ranch house that had nothing but surrounding land.
As I parked beside all the other cars I could hear loud Christmas music and the chatter and laughter of people.
"Mia! You look so cute but you must be freezing!" Minnie shouted to me as she walked up to me.
She had on a long grey dress with sleeves and a gold belt tied around the middle.
"True but hey, I look cute right?" I joked grabbing the waters I brought, not wanting to come empty handed.
"Don't worry about that, I'll make Jer come and get it, let's go introduce you to people." She said taking my hand and leading me up the curvy driveway.
The house was grand and I briefly wondered how Jeremy afforded it all, since he was a bouncer at the club.
Inside was decorated with twinkly lights and snowflake decorations. Minnie definitely had a say in them.
She introduced me to multiple people or should I refuse multiple hot people.
Everyone at this party were a few years older than us because I take it they were Jeremy's friends and acquaintances.
There was alcohol being served in the kitchen area and I helped myself to a shot or two as I lightly swayed to the Christmas music while having small talk with random people, realizing I would't be able to drive myself, I prayed Minnie had stayed sober.
As time when's on the the Christmas music transformed into club type music and people were enjoying themselves dancing and laughing.
I giggled as I seen Minnie and and Jeremy dancing together and laughing at each other's strange moves.
I was happy seeing my best friend happy, especially with someone who treats her like the queen she is.
"Would you like to join me?" A guy with red brownish hair asked me.
His outfit was causal with a white long sleeve and black pants.
I shrugged my shoulders and took his hand as he lead me to the makeshift dance floor. I was mindful of what moves I did with him, since I was taking to Phoenix and would not appreciate some random girls shaking what they got on him.
I laughed as he twirled me and I in that moment I was instantly glad I drug my lazy ass out of bed and took the time to enjoy festiveness. I danced a little longer before excusing myself to find Minnie. I made my way around the house looking until I caught sight of her blonde hair .

As I was starting to cross the room toward her everything went down in slow motion.I immediately stopped when two guys went down in front of me, throwing fists.
I screamed and jumped back, looking to find Minnie but then I realized this wasn't the only fight that was happening, it was basically a growing brawl.
I eventually looked up when I heard Minnie scream as a guy punched her boyfriend and he fell to the floor with a loud thump.
After that the whole thing was history.
People who weren't originally at the party filed in and started throwing punches with the people surrounding me.
Bad luck Mia went through my head, a name stupid kids called me back in middle school after I slipped once or twice in the cafeteria area, but that name couldn't be more true lately.
I was extremely confused as to what was going on as I tried to push my way out and to the front door.
Someone shoved me harshly and my left arm wrist are whacked a nearby counter hard enough that a bruise would definitely arrive.
I searched for my phone in my pockets to call the police but it was knocked out of my hands when another person was shoved into me.
I definitely wasn't going to leave here without a way a way to call anyone so I quickly bent down and grabbed it before once again trying to make my way back outside.
Someone was one step ahead of me when the chaos grew and I seen the familiar flash of black police uniforms.
I was able to push my way through the front door where I ran into an officers chest.
"Woah, let's get you to a medic." He said while gently placing his hand on his back leading me to the awaiting medics.
"What, why?" I asked looking around frantically at the mess situation around me.
"Miss, look at your wrist." He said gesturing to.
I looked down to see it swollen and bruised , where I whacked it against the counter. A small fracture probably I thought to myself.
I let myself me ushered over to one where he quickly began assessing me arm as gently as possible.
I say there as I seen many people being drug out and arrested. I really hope Minnie is ok was all that kept rushing through my mind.
"Mia?" I herd a voice call out, and I looked over to see Phoenix in uniform, rushing towards me.
"Mia what are you doing here?" He asked quickly with a hint of annoyance, but his eyes showed concern,
I winced as he wrapped my wrist. "Holiday party." I answered.
"Here? Mia this house is notorious for drug busts. Tonight it looks that's what caused this whole fight." He explained while narrowing his eyes at me.
"We've got to stop meeting like this." I mumbled quietly to myself. The only few times we have met up are usually under not so fun circumstances. Of course I decided to go to a holiday party and it ends up being a drug house.
What are even the odds of that.
He was about to question my statement before the medic interrupted.
"This is going to need further medical attention." The medic informed us.
"I'll take her." Phoenix quickly spoke up making me roll my eyes and the Medic nod a little suspiciously.
He took my hand and carefully and helped me over the semi rocky terrain towards his patrol car.
"Wait." I stopped . "I don't want to leave my car here, because then I'll have to come back" I explained. That and I didn't want it get damaged with all this commotion.
"Alright, I'll just have my partner drive the patrol car, and I'll drive yours." He replied while pulling his walkie talkie thing attached to his shoulder up. "This is Officer Adams I won't be returning to the station, helping medics with injured." He said.
I led him to my parked car and handed him my keys after he carefully wrapped his arm under my ass to set me in the passenger since my left arm was out of commission.
This was a different side of Phoenix. This Phoenix was focused at the task at hand and very determined. I'd be lying if I said I didn't like this side. I liked it way more than the sarcastic arrogant side.
He got into the driver side where I handed him my keys and he whipped out of the small slot I parked in with ease.
"You're pretty good at driving." I lamely commented trying to distract my own mind from the pain growing in my wrist.
Phoenix's mouth pulled into a small smile. "Well I do it all day so I would hope I am."
We continued along slowly when the rain picked up.
"What did you mean 'we've got to stop meeting like this?'" he suddenly questioned.
I shook my head. "Like as you as a officer and me in a situation where I could be arrested." I explained adding a hint of sarcasm.
"Well, that could be arranged." I muttered making me snap my head up. "No, not the you being arrested part but the meeting under different circumstances." he explained quietly before concentrating on the road again.
My breathing picked up a little bit, but I wasn't sure if it was because of Phoenix's words, or just the jump in pain my wrist felt.
