Chapter Four
Harmony's POV
After fifteen long minutes of playing James Bond with the very nice guard cop standing outside the Court room door, I'm finally permitted to go back into the stuffy court room.
"Miss. Kingston, we've decided on you're punishment" The Judge guy with the funny old man wig says.
"Okay, hit me"
I'm ready for this. If they tell me I'm heading to the slammer, then I'mma run out the exit door and hope that the cops don't fire their fancy looking guns at me. If they tell me I'm free, I'm going do my happy dance and get the heck outta here. I'm not stealing, hot wiring, or jay-walking ever again. Kayla can get her own drugs, there's no way I'm getting arrested again.
"You will not be going to jail"
A huge smile spreads across my face and I start to do my happy dance, singing my favourite happy dance song, More.
I think its suitable song for my happy dance, because once everyone see's it, they'll be begging me for more. Well, I don't really know if they'll be begging for more, they'll probably be begging for less.
"But you will be staying with, Officer Edwards for the duration of you parole, possibly longer"
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold the phone! That was not what I expected at all. They just can't send me to live with a stranger; he could be a rapist for all they know. They did say Officer, so I guess he's not a rapist then.
I stick my hand in the air, the way the teacher's told me to do in elementary school when I had the answer to their question or when I had something to say.

The judge looks at me weirdly, then says:
"Yes?"
"Who's Officer Edwards?"
"Me"
A very attractive boy, oops did I say boy? Well I meant man, with dirty brown hair gelled up in a foe hawk and hazel brown eyes steps out from the shadows. I swear my jaw dropped. What girl's wouldn't? This guy was hot!
And my very clever response,
"Oh"
He smiles at steps forward, extending his hand.
"Drew Edwards, nice to meet you"
I grab his hand and shake it, all the while feeling tiny tingles running up my arm, spreading warmth throughout my body.
"Harmony Kingston, nice to meet you too"
He drops my hand and steps back to the judge's side.
"Alright Officer Edwards, take Miss. Kingston to get her things"
Officer Edwards nods and the judge and Mister. Guards take her away, march towards the door, me and Drew on their heels.
Mister. Guards take her away, heads the other way and me being the nice person I am, I thought it would be nice to say goodbye.
"Bye Mister. Medieval" I call, waving.
Beside me, Officer Edwards starts chuckling. The mean old cop doesn't even turn around; do you know what he does? That old fart just flipped me off. Causing Officer Edwards to laugh even harder.
"Hey Mister, that is not very nice" I call, giving him my own finger.
He just continues his trek down the hall. How nice of him.
"So, you going to take me to get my things?" I ask, turning to Officer Edwards.
"Sure am Peaches, follow me"
I raise my eyebrows. I thought I told him my name is Harmony. Harmony sounds nothing like Peaches. How could he get the two confused?
"Hey Officer Edwards, my name isn't Peaches"
"Yea and my name isn't Officer Edwards" He points out.

"Listen here Buzaroo, I'm being polite and respecting my elders, and you're what 40? So that makes you my elder"
"I am not 40" He says, raising his voice. "I'm 22, in fact"
"Good to know" I roll my eyes. "And my name is H-A-R-M-O-N-Y"
This time he rolls his eyes.
"Thank you oh wise one, but I prefer Peaches"
"Whatever floats your boat Buzaroo"
"My name is D-R-E-W" He says, trying to imitate my voice.
Key word their, trying. He isn't very successful. He sounds like a smurf.
"Nahh that's okay, I like Buzaroo better" I smirk.
Ha-ha, sip on that sucka. He just pops out his tongue -isn't he mature? - and continues leading me to his car, which happens to be a silver Ute.
I jump into his car and immediately start frigging around with the stereo. Gahh, they never play anything good. Oh how I wish I had my iPod, but sadly, I left it and all my other things at the boardwalk.
I wonder if Kayla has even given me one thought seeing as I didn't come back with her drugs last night. I doubt Drew has one of those beating sticks cops carry around, it might be necessary.
"Where do you live?" Drew asks
"The boardwalk"
"There's not such place"
"Yea there is, you drive downtown and take a left on Cornwallis..."
He cuts me off before I can continue
"Yes, I know where the boardwalk is; I thought you meant a street or something"
"I see. I didn't know there was a street named Boardwalk"
"There isn't" He grumbled.
The car then stops, in the parking lot to the beach. I unfasten my seatbelt and look over at Drew, who is grabbing some clothes from the backseat of his car.
"Do you mind if I change real quick before we grab you're things?" He asks, putting on a pair of aviator shades.
"Well I was hoping you'd come with me, I was kinda hoping to change also and there's no point in making two trips"
"Oh okay"
We jump out of the car, me leading the way towards my 'home'.
2 years ago, since I didn't have anywhere to sleep, I decided to spend the night under the boardwalk. Kayla then showed up and told me to skedaddle because that was her territory. But me being the stubborn person I am, I didn't move. Kayla then decided that she liked me and that I could stay, and then the boardwalk was called my home.

So I tried to make this extra long to make up for my time away. Hope you liked it, I'd be super happy to come home and find votes and comments, maybe even one fan :))))
