《Legend of Zelda ONESHOTS! (read des.)》Hyrule's Sake: Wild x Reader

Living in Hateno Village, you had a pretty peaceful life. From picking fruits off of bushes and trees to running around in the grass.
You were even friends with the hero of Hyrule, Link. Yes, that Link that is Princess Zelda's knight. And you were best friends. You and Link were similar in a way, since you both enjoyed fighting, so you could train together without any bother in the world.
But as the time went, he moved out of Hateno, and into the castle, and he stopped visiting you. You understood though, because he had an important job to do. And when the time went by, you matured and grew up to be a beautiful/handsome woman/man. You then had to do the jobs of the people of Hateno, cleaning your house and doing the normal duties of an adult.
You also had this very unique power that controlled monsters around you. You could somehow communicate with them, and they were your only friends since the children were afraid of you.
One day, the Princess came by, along with Link. You were overjoyed to see him, but he changed as well. He had a blue tunic and a very sharp, powerful looking sword. He also matured in emotions, with a cold look on his face. It was almost like he was emotionless. You went from a happy smile to a frown as Link didn't immediately greet you with happiness.
"Y/N of Hateno Village, the King of Hyrule has requested your presence at Hyrule Castle. He would like if you packed up your things to move with us, if you please." The Princess spoke in an almost bored voice, with a saddened tone. You would get it, since they are dealing with hard times trying to conquer the Calamity.
"Of course, your highness." You replied, instantly walking away to get your supplies.
Once you were all packed, you saw the two figures waiting outside for you, near the entrance of the peaceful village. Once you walked over you began your journey to the Castle.
You still glanced at the silent knight, still looking forward. He didn't even seem to be that amused to take care of his own horse. When you arrived you saw King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule standing in the middle of the huge gate that was the entrance to Hyrule Castle. It was all stone and metal, and not very decorative to you.

"Ah, Y/N. I am so glad you came to the castle. I would like you to speak with me, alone." He glared at the Princess, who looked away. You followed him as he led you into the main room, the sanctum.
"As you know Hyrule has to deal with the upcoming calamity, and it is coming quick." You nodded your head in agreement, watching everyone suspiciously in case something happened.
"Well, the champions, the Princess and her knight have been having some hard times preparing with the calamity themselves, especially Link." He looked back at you with determination.
"Well, I would like you to become a champion so you can help aid Hyrule in our battle. I have heard that you have some sort of power?" He questioned. You approved, and he continued.
"Well, we will test that power. And when that works, we can use it in the battle so you could possibly talk to them. Understand Y/N?" He turned to you with an intense stare, which made you very uncomfortable.
"Yes, your highness." You replied.
"We will test out your power in front of the champions, with the Princess and her knight in an hour. Please be ready by then, and I'll see you soon." The king waved you off.
"I'm ready." You said, looking at the maid at your door. You took your sword in case something happened.
"Y/N." The Princess looked at you in worry. You guess she didn't know the power you held. "We have brought a big monster called a Lynel. Please be careful."
You saw all of the champions of Hyrule watching you as a chained box sat in front of you. It opened with a pull on the lock, and a huge silver Lynel stepped out, roaring. There were gates surrounding you so the Lynel wouldn't get out. You were unfazed by the giant roar, but the champions seemed to take their weapons out.
It took a look at you, and it's eyes softened. You spoke calmly. "Hello, Lynel. I'm sorry the knights had to bring you here, it's just a test." You took a look at all of the people around you with shocked faces.
The Lynel spoke to you. "Hello Miss Y/N. What brings you here in the castle?" From what you could tell it was a male Lynel, and it had a kind voice.

"I was asked to be a champion because of my abilities. I don't really know how I could be useful.... but I have to give it a try."
"Lady Y/N, I will tell you that once the Calamity is over, something bad may happen to all of us. The monsters, and maybe even you. So just don't trust anyone for now..." the Lynel backed up into the cage, and was locked up again.
Once they took the Lynel away, the champions were let into the gates. From that day forward, you were known as a champion, and you traveled with the other skilled warriors to help the Princess.
During the journeys, you got to learn everything about the races, and the champions, at the most. Turns out, Revali hates Link, Mipha has a crush on Link, Urbosa and Daruk are pretty nice people, even if they look tough, and the Princess was really stressed, but she was happy with you along.
The trips around Hyrule were quicker, since you cleared all the monsters out. You mostly talked to Link, who loved your company. He even opened up to the champions because of you. The memories of you were unforgettable, and they were awesome overall.
One day, the Calamity hit. It did try to destroy lots of people and villages.
"Princess, Link. You need to head to the castle with me now!" I yelled to the silent knight and the now crying princess.
We all ran while the other champions were in their divine beasts. We checked in on them, and all of them were alive, and on their way to the castle.
Princess Zelda had already unlocked her power in Fort Hateno. Unfortunately, Link got injured, but slowly got better.
"We're here." You called out to them. Hyrule Castle was almost fully demolished, but you kept on going.
We all stopped in the sanctum, where a huge beast resided. This was the Scourge of Hyrule Castle, Calamity Ganon. You talked to him to distract him, and he knelt down, giving Zelda the chance to seal him away with her power.
Once Calamity Ganon disappeared, you were brought outside to face Dark Beast Ganon, the real Ganon. You were handed the Bow of Light and quickly finished the job. Everything that was once destroyed was magically fixed, and the monsters in Hyrule were all defeated.
All of the champions were celebrating, while Link was being healed by Mipha. You and Zelda hugged, since you have become close friends. You both looked at each other in sadness, knowing what was about to happen next.
Link was quickly healed, and the first thing he did was run over to you.
"We did it Y/N!! Now we can live in peace!" He picked you up and twirled you around. You laughed, enjoying your last moments with him. You knew you were a reincarnation of Calamity Ganon, and you knew that once the Calamity disappeared, you had to be killed, for you were the last remainder of him.
"Link. I need to tell you something." You looked down, knowing that this was going to break his heart.
"Look, I know this may seem unreal, but I am a reincarnation of Calamity Ganon. This is why I could talk to monsters and control them. Now, please don't freak out, but just take care of the Princess and the rest of the champions for me, okay?" You looked at him, who had a confused face.
You stared into his blue eyes for a moment before taking his sword, running away and stabbing it through your heart.
You could hear the screams of the champions, since only you and Zelda knew what was going to happen. You're sight faded away, bringing you into the darkness. Link picked up your almost lifeless body and started to sob. He had never wanted this to happen, no one did, but you had to. You had to protect him.
"Link, I love you..." you whispered, before dying in his arms and turning into purple smoke.
"I love you too Y/N." He had a puffy face, teary eyes and a runny nose. Zelda ran over to him and hugged him. It was all she could do at the moment. The rest of the champions stood behind the Princess, looking at Link sadly.
From up in the clouds, you watched him. You were brought to Goddess Hylia for your good deeds in helping the champions save Hyrule. That way, you could see him in the mortal world.
You were really happy to see that a few years later, Link got married to Mipha, Zelda became queen, Hyrule was restored and the champions lived a new life. All of the champions were now married into wonderful families, and they all lived happily ever after, over your protection.

A Virtual Invasion
An invasion from another dimension is shut down by an Empire's traitor and the world has a scant few decades to build the strength to resist a multidimensional Empire. How will the world fair when no one even knows its doom is one barred gate away? Fortunately, the traitor has a plan. Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
