The fires go out when the vision ends, and Izuku stares at the sail for a few minutes before muttering to himself. "We were voyagers."
He jumps up and runs back down the path, repeating the line. "We were voyagers! We were voyagers! We were voyagers! We were voyagers!"
He runs right past Y/n but comes running back to them. "Why'd we stop?"
"Katsuki. When he stole from the Mother Island, darkness fell. Teka awoke. Monsters lurked and boats stopped coming back. To protect the people, the ancient chiefs forbade voyaging. And now They have forgotten who they are."
They stand up and lead Izuku down the water, pointing at a line of black ink almost across the beach rock. "And the darkness has continued to spread, chasing away our fish, draining the life from island after island."
"Our island?" Izuku asks, staring at the black stains in disbelief. Y/n nodded before continuing.
"But one day, someone will journey beyond our reef, find Katsuki, deliver him across the great ocean to restore the heart of Te fiti," Yn said as they handed something into Izuku's hand.
He gasped when he saw it, the beautiful jade green gem he saw all those years ago.
"I thought it was a dream," he said, staring at it as The ocean water crashed on top of Izuku as Y/n gave a hearty "Nope!"
Y/n pointed at a group of stars shaped like a fish hook. "Your ancestors believed Katsuki lies there, and the bottom of his hook. Follow it, and you will find him."
Izuku turned to him. "But why did it choose me? I don't even know how to make it past the reef. But I know who does!"
_________
As Y/n walked through the village, screams could be heard. Y/n turned to see monsters That had risen from the black veins, and it was now attacking some of the people. As Y/n's eye's widened in horror, a monster appeared behind them and raised its knife-like claws above its head, and slashed.
Torino picked up the dying root, barely listening as the villagers told him things he already knew. "Please, please settle down." He said, trying to think. But of course, they kept complaining.
"We will find a way. We-"
"Can stop the darkness," Izuku said, running into the meeting, holding the stone. "Save our island. This cave has boats, huge canoes. We can use them to find Katsuki. Make him restore the heart. We were voyagers, we can voyage again!"
Inko sat nervesly as it went dead quiet as Torino glared at Izuku, not happy with the idea. When Shoto came running to the meeting.
"The village has been attacked by monsters, any of our people are wounded," Shoto said as he gasped for air.

Izuku and Torino run up to the healer's building, hoping to get there fast enough. They burst in and walk to Y/n and many others, who lay on the ground, covered in blankets. Izuku quickly ran over to Y/n Who was cover in deep scratches; many bandages were soaked black with their blood.
"Izuku," Y/n whimpered as they tried to sit up.
"Shh, Y/n, you need to rest," Izuku whispered as he laid her back down.
"Izuku, you must go," Y/n gasped.
"Not now. I can't," Izuku said tearing, " I don't want to leave you. W-we can go together when you're better."

"You must. You were chosen. Follow the fish hook. And when you find Katsuki, you grab him by the ear. You say... I am Izuku of Motunui. You will board my boat, sail across the sea, and restore the heart of Ta fiti," Y/n wheezed as Izuku held them close.
"I...I can't leave you. Not like this," Izuku said as tears wheeled up in his eyes. " I don't want to does this on my own."
"There is nowhere you could go that I wouldn't be with you. Go." Y/n chuckled weakly, as the heart Izuku held glowed faintly.
He runs to his house, where he starts packing. He freezes when he notices his mother watching him. She kneels and helps him, handing him the wrap that he only wore at formal ceremonies. It was supposed to commemorate his becoming chief.
He took it and hugged her. He wrapped it around his waist, tucking it into the band of his pants, grabbing his bag, and running back to the cave. Once he's inside, he picks the boat whose sail pattern matches the heart. Izuku pushes the boat into the water, and it sails through the waterfall. He shakes his wet hair out of his eyes and turns back to the village. Wind rustles the trees, and a blue light spreads out. The coral and sealife seam to glow brightly as they all swam in the same direction towards the edge of the reef.
______________
"Momo? Is everyone counted for?" Recovery girl asked.
"Yes, but one is missing. Y/n just disappeared, but Shoto was certain that he brought their body here. Now their cot is empty," Momo said as they stared at the empty bed.
--------------------
Izuku was struggling with figuring out how to sail. He kept muttering the same line over and over again. "I am Izuku of Motunui. You will board my boat, sail across the sea, and restore the heart of Ta fiti." After a bit, Izuku hears a thumping. "I am Izuku of Motu...nui." He puts down the objects and crawls forward. Suddenly a coconut half popped up, and he jumped back. He lifts the coconut but slams it back down. "Denki?!"
When Denki still screams, he slams it down again. This happens a couple of times before Izuku slowly lifts it. "It's okay. You're alright."
Denki waddled forward a little as Izuku put down the coconut. "Yes...see? There we go. Nice water. The ocean is a friend of mine." He said, running his hand along the top of the water. As he did memories of Y/n surface to his mind, his heart started to weigh heavily suddenly.
Denki tilts his head and walks right into the ocean.
"Denki?" Izuku looks around before spotting the yellow chicken's feet. "Denki!" he dives in and grabs the chicken. He swims back to the ship as it tries to sail away.
As he swam he felt the water around him wrap onto him and push them towards the boat. Izuku manages to climb out, and it glaring at Denki. When Izuku turns to fix something, he makes a beeline for the water. Izuku manages to catch him and places him in the hole where Izuku was hiding his food. "Stay." He ordered, and Denki started walking back and forth.
"Next stop, Katsuki." He said, sailing again.

As night fell, Izuku turns, seeing a giant storm coming for them. "Uh, ocean? Can I get a little help here?" The wind picks up. "No...no. Please. Come on, help me." He attempts to flip his boat right, but the water is against him. He looks up as a giant wave crashes above him. "Please..."
As Izuku began to sink, a humanoid figure formed from water quickly pushed the boy to the surface. Raising a hand it commanded the water to push the boat forward towards the Fishhook constellation.
-----------------
Izuku sits up on a sandy beach, shaking sand out of his hair. He dusts off the cloth around his waist and stomps over to the shore.
"Ehmm...what?! I said help me! And wrecking my boat?! Not helping!" He went to kick the ocean, but it pulled back, and he tripped. He pushed himself up. "Fish pee in you...all day!"
Izuku turned and noticed the tallies. Thousands of tallies, all forming fish hooks. Izuku turned back to the water. "So...Katsuki?" The water popped up taking a human shape and gave him a nod. Izuku turned and noticed the shadow coming his way. "Katsuki."
"Boat! F**king finally! Oceania you B*tch, you finally paid attention to - What the f**k?!" someone lifted the boat hiding Izuku, and when he saw Izuku, he screamed, cursed, and dropped it. He picked it up, but only Denki had been pushed into the sand a bit.
Izuku cleared his throat, holding the oar like a weapon. The guy turned around, and Izuku saw just how truly scary this guy was. He had spiky ash blonde hair and crimson red eyes. He wore a skirt made from leaves and held together by some fiber string. On his wrists were leaf bracelets, held by red string. Gray fabric connected to bracelets to armbands made the same way. He also wore a necklace of shark teeth. Every inch of his skin was covered in tattoos.
"Katsuki, shapeshifter, demigod of the wind and sea. I am Izuku-"
"Hero of Man, dumb**s."
"Wh..what?" Izuku was startled. He had never thought he'd be interrupted and in such a weird way. What an attitude!
"It's f**king Katsuki, shapeshifter, demigod of the wind and sea, hero of man. Even a dumb**s like you should know that." He crossed one arm, raising an eyebrow. Izuku inhaled and prepared to continue, trying to hide his inner frustration.
"I am Izu-"
"Wait, f**k. I meant all. I'm a god**n hero to f**king all. I'm not f**king sexist." Bakugo interrupted again.
This continued on and even went into a musical of all the great things he's done for mankind, as Katsuki traps Izuku in a cave.
"And thank you!" Katsuki yelled, waving. He slammed the rock by the entrance shut. Izuku threw everything down and ran over.
"Hey! Let me out! You lying, slimy son of a-"
-----------
As he hummed his song, he grabbed Denki the chicken for a boat snack. As he hopped into the canoe, the sound of sloshing and splashing caught his attention. Katsuki turned around to see a familiar human figure, made of ocean water.
"What are you so angry about Oceania?" Bakugou huffed. " If anyone has the right to be f**king pissed is me. You stranded me on this F**king island for hundreds of years."
The water creature named Oceania had a simple human shape but has no face. It stomped a foot in frustration, as Katsuki simply rolled his eyes as the wind started to catch the sail. Suddenly there was a cry of sorts as Oceania and Katsuki looked up to see Izuku free from the cave. Izuku jumped from the ledge as he tried to jump onto the Canoe, but sadly missed by a foot and fell into the water.
"Ha! Loser," Bakugo chuckled as he opened the sail, causing the boat to speed up speed.
"Wait! You have to return the heart!" Izuku shouted.
Oceania shook its head as it discreetly waved its hand. The water wrapped around Izuku and pulled him swiftly towards the Canoe. By the time Bakugo got the Canoe out in the deep ocean, Izuku was pulled onto the boat by the Ocean.
"Did... not see that coming," Katsuki sighed as he stood.
"I am Izuku of Motunui. This is my canoe. And you will journey to aahh!" Izuku screamed as Katsuki tossed him back into the sea.
Oceania stomped its foot on the boat and waved its arms in a panic. Katsuki just rolled his eyes as he looked down at Oceania. " Alright, get over it. We gotta move. And he's back," Katuski grumbled as he glared at Izuku.
Izuku tried again but was tossed once more, only to be brought back onto the ship with Oceania's help. Katsuki then tried to toss the heart into the sea, only for it to be thrown back at him.
"Alright, I'm out," Katsuki huffed as he tried to swim off, but was dragged back onto the bout by the ocean.
"Ahh, come on!" Katsuki growled at Oceania, who simply crossed its arms in frustration.
"What is your problem? Are you afraid of it?" Izuku asked in concern.
"What did you say you whimper human?! I'm not afraid of it, that thing brings nothing but bad luck," Katsuki growled.
Oceania seemed to chuckle, despite not making a sound. " Shut up Oceania, The second I took it, I got blasted out of the sky. And I lost my hook. Get it away from me!" Katsuki growled, causing Izuku to flinch in surprise.
"Listen, that thing doesn't give you the power to create life. It's a homing beacon of death. If you don't put it away, bad things will come for it," Katsuki continued.
Just as he finished that sentence a small spear lodged itself onto the floor of the boat. Izuku and Oceania jumped back in shock, while Katsuki growled in annoyance as he stared ahead. As the fog cleared, it revealed three little coconut creatures.
"Kakamora!" Katsuki growled.
"Umm, Kaka what?" Izuku asked nervesly.
"Murdering little pirates. Wonder what they're here for?" Katsuki said as he side glares at Izuku.
"Umm! What do we Do?" Izuku gasped.
"You help yourself. Tighten the halyard, bind the stays!" Katsuki ordered as he grabbed the rope.
Izuku froze as he nervesly looked around the boat as Oceania started to bind the sails.
"You Can't Sail?!" Katsuki shouted.
"I... I am self-taught? Can't you shapeshift or something?" Izuku asked nervesly.
"Are you an Idiot?! You see my hook? No magic hook. No magic powers!" Katsuki snarled.

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
