《A Devil's Omega》🦇 4}

When the Devil was called to fetch one of the Minds who had been failing quite a lot lately, he knew what it meant. The Mind was going to be punished and the punishment often ended with the wings ripped out of the Mind's body as proof of their failure. Yet there was something different, special today. He didn't know but he had this feeling that something was going to change his life somehow.
When he reached the Mind he saw he wasn't alone. An Angel, who he didn't recognize so it wasn't the Angel in charge, and there was the Heart. Beautiful, pure, innocent Heart he was. The most beautiful (e/c) eyes staring back full of innocence, his (h/c) slowly swaying along the small waves of wind, his moonstone halo floating above his head reminded him of his status. Omega. No wonder the boy was beautiful.
He felt his heart squeeze when his eyes left the Heart, almost demanding to look back at him, he didn't. He threw a disappointed look at the Mind who was cowering as he knew what his oncoming punishment was. Minhyuk almost wanted to reassure the Mind but he knew he couldn't. He only mentioned to the Mind to follow him and started to fly again. His eyes stayed a bit on the Heart's back but flew past him without looking back.
When they arrived Minhyuk grabbed the Mind by the arm, which caused him to start screaming but some of the Guardians took hold of his wings to keep them out and make sure to keep him quiet. Minhyuk could only watch the horror in the Mind's eyes. As the Devil in charge he was the one to punish the Minds. They usually punished Minds in private but when they struggled it turned into a public punishment. A Devil was asked to bring the sharpest blade and give it to the Devil in charge.

They made sure the Mind couldn't put his wings away and the Guardians made him stay still. Minhyuk had to calm himself, his hand held the blade tightly before he made a cut where the wing merged into the skin and pulled on the wing. The noice of bones breaking, screaming and pools of blood forming started. The Mind didn't have the time to breathe before Minhyuk did the same to the other wing, most of the Devils were cheering, some had disgust painted on their faces because of the punishment. Minhyuk wanted to be part of them so he could go and throw up somewhere. He didn't want to do this but it was his duty and unfortunately it was part of the law.
Once the two wings were on the floor, people left and Minhyuk took the Mind's hands and squeeze in apologie. As weak as the Mind felt, he handed his ring to Minkyuk as it was part of his punishment. Gold. Omega. Minhyuk felt worse. Luckily someone had called the Medics, who arrived shortly after Minhyuk got the Mind's ring.
When the Medics took the Mind, Minhyuk flew away from the scene feeling incredibly sick. Because of it he accidentally ran into a Guardian who luckily kept him from crashing onto the floor. Black hair, red tail. He thanked the Guardian who he recognized. Ong Jihoon. He didn't speak with the Guardian that much but he was who he could someone close to him, at least in private. Jihoon looked surprised by his state, not that it showed on his face, he only had a questioning eyebrow raised. Minhyuk slowly lowered himself to the ground and watched the Guardian do the same. "You seem... distracted Minhyuk." He shook his head and sighed loudly. "If anything, I had a somewhat good day until they called for a punishment." At that he saw Jihoon's tail going back and forth violently. "I heard about it. Some Guardians were laughing about it. Those idiots should have been the ones at that poor Mind's place." Minhyuk smiled, that was what he liked with Jihoon, like him he didn't really like the treatment of the Minds nor the punishments applied.

The Guardian decided to catch up with Minhyuk, a way to keep his mind away from the bad thoughts and memories of the Mind's back. They weren't exactly best friends but it was enough. Minhyuk lost himself when he started to talk about the Heart he saw earlier. He felt heat rise in his body at the mention of said Heart yet he felt himself faint because of the sudden rise in temperature. The Guardian had to drag him to the Medics who quickly told him to go back to his duties, leaving Minhyuk alone.
When the Medics checked on him they asked him questions but it felt like they were far away from him, the heat in his blood made him unable to think properly, he couldn't speak either no matter how many glasses of water he was given.
Everything turned black. All he could think about was the Heart, sweet and beautiful Heart, his eyes, his hair, his innocent and pure smile. He didn't have a name to put on his face, it was frustrating. He was out for a while he guessed, it was already dark outside, only two Medics were there. His head was killing him but at least he didn't feel like burning from inside.
He felt the urge to get up, fly to the end of the Devil's territory and go into the Angel's, just to look for his Heart. Since when did the Heart became his ? It felt natural to call him his somehow. Maybe they accidentally formed some type of bound when they stared at each other ? He felt lost, his brain didn't let him think about anything else but the Heart.
He barely heard the Medic telling him what happened to him but he heard enough to know what happened. It also made him realize that the Heart might be in a situation way more dangerous than his, as an Alpha he was fine maybe a bit agressive around other Alphas but an Omega in Heat definitely was in danger.
Minhyuk was held down by the Medics before he realized he had move. Minhyuk felt scared of himself when he saw the terror in the Medics' eyes.

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
