《Reincarnated into the Otome Game as the Princess Villainess?!》Prologue: Truck-sama strikes again!

[As I edit this, I am sitting at my desk (for once) and a cold apple juice with a red straw sticking out of it is to my right and the dog sleeping on my bed behind me.]
The day of my death was a rainy one—an early sign of my upcoming doom really.
Under the protection of my decorated cat umbrella, my nose was stuck in the latest novel I had picked up. Though I was generally pretty clumsy in this lifetime, whenever distracted by things such as books and phones, I would never fall—becoming somewhat graceful and elegant even.
As my thoughts were wandering off to unknown places, I saw it.
A small fluffy and undeniably adorable little snow white kitten! But it was sitting in the middle of the road.
And speeding towards the unsuspecting and cute creature was a monstrous truck!
So, I did the only thing any animal-loving person would do. I saved the cat.
I guess truck-sama gained another victim.

I woke up to gentle music being played. Looking down at my hands, I was shocked. I was normal. My body wasn't mangled and bloody like I had expected, instead appearing in its normal appearance.
I looked up and saw a man. "Where am I?" I immediately asked him.
"Oh right, this is the heavenly realm, the home of myself. I should apologise for what happened, it was a mistake on my behalf."
I looked at the man. "Did the kitty survive?"
He nods. "Thanks to you Primrose, it lived on. Because of my foolish... mistake, I would like to compensate you with reincarnation. Of course, I'll give you a cheat of your choice." His voice was firm yet I still shrugged in indifference.
My reply was: "Sure I guess, it really doesn't bother me. Also, I'd prefer you just choose any for me. Doesn't really bother me regardless as long as I can live a happy life..."

Debut: the day every young gentleperson of age gathers to receive their Spirit Blessing and shift for the first time into their second form. Except for those who don't. Beatrice's worst fear is to be one of the unlucky few trapped perpetually in a human body, cut off from the magic of the spirits and unfit for any respectable pack or pride. But when the time comes to face her fear, the outcome is one she never could have imagined. Be warned, this story is some highly experimental fluff—an unapologetically girly, unrelentingly bisexual, Regency/Victorian-ish fantasy mish-mash. It does have a dark side, though, so don’t come in expecting all sunshine and roses. Worthy of note, given the reputation of shifter stories: there will be no explicit sex in this tale. There will, however, be lots of polyamorous romance, necromancy, portal magic, capricious spirits, elemental mages, an unconventional take on shifters and a highly ordered society built around their existence.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
