"You-you love me?" I turned a dark shade of red. "But, you're an apparition, I don't think that's..
allowed."
"Who cares about doing the right thing if you have the girl of your dreams?" Hanako-Kun chuckled, pulling away from me. I felt his familiar cold hands wrap around me, his icy breath in my ear, saying, "I love you, Yashiro."
"No, no, no!" Yashiro stomped around the room. Apparently, my act of confession was too charming for her human mind.
"Who wouldn't want to date the most powerful being in the school?" I boasted. Technically I was, considering I'm the boss of all the Wonders of this school.
Except for Tsukasa.
Well, he isn't a Wonder of the school, but he would easily beat me in a fight if I was just a tiny bit off my game, which is scary. I'm sure I would struggle battling with him, and I hope he'd be the same.
Or it would mean I've deteriorated.

I sat quietly in the corner of Yashiro's room, not bothering her while she changed, which was rare. I guess I was lost in thoughts about...

I heard the sliding of the toilet door and immediately bounced up. "So, is it time for school yet?" I leaned near to her ear and whispered, sending a shiver down her spine. She shook it off and replied stiffly, "No, I need food, Hanako-Kun."
"Oh yeah, you're a human. Keep on forgetting that."
She rolled her eyes while I trailed behind her, snickering. She pulled out a pot and quickly heated up the udon she had made the night before. My eyes glinted.
Udon...
I liked my teeth hungrily. Yashiro looked at me with concern, asking, "Hanako-Kun, are you... Feeling good?"

I snapped out of my dreamy state. "No, it's been a while since I've eaten udon," I explained, waving at her to carry on cooking.
"Didn't know ghosts could eat," she said with and unamused face.
"Apparition. They're different."
"Whatever. Ghosts are cooler anyways," Yashiro challenged.
I wanted to eat that pot of udon in front of her. The ultimate torture.
But I couldn't, because I like the girl.

The earth is ravaged by increasing levels of rogue magics, divines, and a war over resources and experience. Eventually resulting in a mass exodus of the remaining powerless humans by a coalition of gods.Now translocated to Vauthia where everyone has been given a path to power. They're met with an unfortunate reality. They've only been rescued from one dying world to be tasked with saving the new one. While at the same time they're apparently supposed to compete with one another. Meanwhile Elliot wasn't just given a path to power. He was given a choice. The opportunity for true power is offered. When as he reaches for it the power isn't all it's cracked up to be.Systemless in a world where everyone else has access to one Elliot must grapple with a multitude of problems from without and within. The 'gods' might actually be incompetent, uncaring, downright malicious, or all three. His power is constantly three steps behind those who chose the quick path to power. There's also the antisocial tendencies he's brought with him from earth. Can he trust the 'god' who seems to be taking him under their wing? Will he be able to catch up to his fellow earthlings who're ever increasing in power?
