《Be My Wonder 8... || HanaNene》Chapter 20 [Last Chapter]

Wait... what was that voice? Who the Hell is Amane?!
The voice seemed to read my mind (which made sense, since it was in my mind) and spoke again. Amane... he was your lover in your previous life...
Wait, you mean the ghost in the toilet?!
Yes, he lost you when you were drowned by his brother in the afterlife... the voice mumbled, as if it were reliving painful memories.
Sooooo, should I go and summon him?
Yes, he misses you, Yashiro.
Who's Yashiro?
It was your spirit before your reincarnation.
This is a huge amount of information to process... Now everything's confusing !
I sighed as I stepped into the bathroom once the teacher, Tsuchigamori-sensei disappeared from my field of vision. I took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the worse possible outcome, just in case it happened. (Which was me dying.) I recalled the rumor's instructions. "Knock 3 times on the 3rd stall and say 'Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there?'"
I knocked on the door softly three times and said, "Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you... there?" I patiently waited for the response. The stall's door creaked open, revealing no one in the stall. "Thank God! It's just a myth-"
"Yashiro! I thought I lost you~! You look pretty different though, all that's similar is your eyes," something poked at my hair. I turned to face it, only to see this choppy-haired 13 year-old touching my hair like a pervert. Holy crap what did I get myself into.
"Ah! Pervert!" I screamed, confused as to why the spirit was a guy, when the rumors stated that he was, in fact, supposed to be a girl. "Why are you hiding in a stall!?" I cried, running towards the door to make an escape, when...
That's... Amane.
I paused when I was about to step out of the bathroom and walked towards the apparition. "Okay, so I have some stuff to explain," I fiddled with my fingers, nervous and anxious that he wouldn't believe me.

Let me remind you of what had happened.
"So you aren't falling for me?"
That made me grit my teeth in frustration, although I didn't understand why.
That one stabbed me like a dagger.
That one made me blush furiously.
I dug my nails into my palm.
A stray tear involuntarily rolled down my puffy cheeks, my hand immediately shooting up to wipe it.
Every time I heard that A**'S NAME, I felt like punching someone in the gut.
I shook my head to bring myself back to reality, keeping myself from reliving more of my tragic past. As soon as I did, I came face to face with Amane's concerned face. "Y-yashiro, are you okay?" he mumbled, the grip on his kitchen knife slowly loosening from shock. The tears rolling down my puffy cheeks seemed endless, the sadness portrayed on my face unending. The features of "Akira" fading from my face, the characteristics of "Nene Yashiro" painting themselves back onto the canvas. I ran into his arms, the memories, both good and bad, flooded my mind. All I could think of was to return to his warm embrace. "Missed you, Yashiro!" he smiled, nuzzling deeper into the hug. I can't believed I lasted 16 years without him, only then had I realised how much I missed him.
As I released from the hug, my soul separated from the body of Akira, letting me return to my apparition form.
Oh, and the man you met him Hell, he's replacing that body to a similar soul who wants reincarnation.
'So, that body is like a hand-me-down?' I thought back to the voice, but to have no response. I gave a soft smile and turned back to face Amane from the body laying on the floor. 'Would be unfortunate for someone to see this.'

With your afterlife with your beloved returning to normal, you felt more and more at home than ever. Playing cards with the mokke, talking to the other Wonders, granting peoples wishes for love, it all brought joy that you were deprived of.
Currently, you were seated under a cherry blossom tree that was planted on the school's garden, the one in which you cared for. It had gone through a plethora of changes, but the vegetable garden where Amane had once teased you for your fat ankles had remained through generations. It also happened to be the same blossom tree that you had had your nightmare about Tsukasa under. You shuddered at the thought, pressing your lips into a fine line.
But you weren't alone as you reminisced about the pain-filled past. Amane had noticed your frustration as your eyes glinted with tears, the Sun's beautiful setting rays reflecting off your glassy eyes. "What's wrong, Yashiro?" he perked his head to the side, his reassuring hand placed on your shoulder. You blushed slightly at the action, replying,
"Ah, I just had a bad memory that... that I couldn't avoid."
Amane averted his gaze at the statement, flashbacks of the bad times against Tsukasa. he looked towards the setting sun, and how the gleam hit the plants and cherry blossoms perfectly. You're were in their best life right now, you should embrace it. "What's the point of worrying if it's all over?" Amane smiled, his fingers intertwining with yours.
"But, how do we know if he's dead? L-like last time-?" you paused when you felt Amane leaning closer and closer to your cheek, finally placing a peck on your cheek. Just like how he did to give you a protection charm... how many years ago?? You flared up even more, though it was but a small gesture, you still liked to treat him as your childhood friend.
But let's face it, he probably thinks of you as his wife. It's probably time you started acting as one.
"It's fine, Yashiro. I've gotten quite a bit stronger since we last met," he smirked slightly. "You don't need to do anything if there's nothing that can be done about it."
You two watched the Sun set over the horizon, Amane slowly falling asleep into a doze, his light breaths bringing a sign of safety to you. He leaned on your shoulder as you watched the moon hang in the darkening night sky, when suddenly a shooting star flew past, disrupting the peaceful view.
'I should make a wish', you thought, glancing abruptly towards Amane. Sure, you could make wishes come true, but you, by no means, could make a wish of that magnitude come true. I watched the streak paint the night sky, mumbling under my breath...

BAAM A happy ending, I have delivered to my readers. Feels so good to finally finish the final chapter (Honestly to get it off my shoulders and to get my friend to stop chasing me to write the last chapter). Been a journey, thanks for the support!

I got bored on the long commute to and from work(about 1.5 hours each way) and decided to flesh out some of the ideas I've had about my character in game. I write about a chapter a day on weekdays, maybe on weekends too depending on the stuff I have to do irl.

Wild Steam
Get on a train. Head east. Get on a ship. Travel further east, in style. See some wonders of the world. Find what was lost. Find where home is. How hard is any of that?Well, for Jake Ranger, pretty damned hard. The world being a wild, crazy mess from a global altering event called the Shattering doesn’t help much. Nor does being a famous folk hero. That last one really sucks, because people always run up to famous heroes and beg them for help with all their problems. Then there are the actual outlaws and monsters. They don’t help much either. Mostly they just get in the way and make everything way worse. And in a world that is so screwed up decades after the Shattering, there is a lot of variety to both outlaw and monster. Then there are the more civilized, (read: sane), non-human folk, and good old humans as well. They all get along just spectacularly. Totally best friends, on every level, for life. Of course getting to the east coast is only half the battle. Once there, he must contend with the so-called “civilized people.” Then there’s the ship ride; pirates and sea monsters are a thing too, after all. Should have read the brochure. But when the chips are down, the bad guys are winning and the wild winds of chaos are blowing, it helps to have a fighter on your side. Even if he is a little wild. After all, that’s not really a problem. That’s what beautiful women and lots of gold is for. Proper motivation is always key to success. Welcome to a Steampunk, Wild West, Victorian era, Lovecraftian infested, fantasy, shoot ‘em up world. Complete with a slow build harem of badass beautiful women, crazy adventures, and fun, monstrous villains. Welcome to the world of Wild Steam. Do enjoy your stay.
