The heart begins it's decay

From the first beat on its first day

Others come to hasten it on its way

Some see it as a toy with which to play

Should it be broken there'll be no repair

Only patches may cover the tear

Each passing day lends to despair

Pieces may splinter others will shed

As upon lies and deceit it will be fed

Heavier each day as though made from lead

The pain subsides only when you're dead

You cannot escape it no matter how you try

What is the point to lay there and cry

Wedged in place no matter how much you pry
