it was currently saturday and jake was treating the two out like he promised so he could make it up to them
"i don't remember the last time i had hotpot" yuna told the two boys as she looked at the food in front of her.
"me too" sunghoon responded then looked over at jake, "you're paying right?"
jake nodded, "i'll be paying since i always leave you guys"
"fine by me" sunghoon chuckled, grabbing rice with his chopsticks and beginning to eat his food
"oh..by the way.." yuna started, "are you sure you want to tutor us?" jake just hmmed beginning to eat
"well yuna and i were thinking about it and you're already so busy with clubs, student council, afterschool tutoring, soccer, and violin, that we don't want to take up anymore time from you. you need to rest and you shouldn't have to worry about tutoring us" sunghoon continued for yuna
"guys it's okay" jake reassured them, "i usually have extra time after my tutoring so i can help you guys on whenever you're free. when can you guys?"
"i have track meets on monday, wednesday, thursday, and friday" yuna replied, "but mondays are in the morning so im free afterschool"
"and i have practice on wednesday, tuesday, and saturday" sunghoon spoke
"so..sunday and monday at..5 to 7?" jake suggested and they nodded, agreeing with it
the three began eating afterwards, talking and laughing about random things and catched up on whatever they had missed
it's been awhile since they had hung out so they wanted to savor the moment and just be happy as a group of three

yuna sat at her desk doing her homework. it was 2 in the morning but she really wanted to just get it over with already and be finished so she could relax on sunday.
her phone rang and she raised an eyebrow confused; who was calling her at 2 in the morning?
she stood up from her seat and walked over to her bedside table where her phone was charging. she looked at the caller ID and saw 'jake'
she unknowingly smiled and unplugged her phone, sitting on her bed, and answering his facetime call, "hey jake"
"hello yunaa" he smiled as he set his phone down on his desk so he didn't have to hold it
"did you just take a shower?" she questioned, noticing his hair was still wet. he just nodded, "it's literally 2 in the morning jake"
"i finished homework a little while ago and wanted to take a shower since the moment i got home from hotpot i fell asleep then woke up at like 9 pm and began doing homework" he explained to her then asked her a question, "why are you still awake?"
"i was doing some homework so i don't have to do anything tomorrow" he answered
"it's a saturday"
"yes? and you were doing homework so..don't judge me" she rolled her eyes at him
he chuckled, "you're so cute yuyu"
yuna moved the camera away from her face and shut her eyes, her heart racing at such a simple sentence; mostly because jake was the one who said it
'stop making me fall for you even more than i already have'
she took in a deep breath and showed her face again, "don't go around saying those things so effortlessly"
"why? is your heart fluttering?" he teased her

she scoffed but laughed afterwards, "yah, save those remarks for your future girlfriend"
"why would i need a girlfriend when i have you?" he tilted his head cutely, showing her a cheeky smile
"you always know what to say don't you?"
"of course" he replied then it turned silent, "uh hey yuyu" she just hmmed in response, "i just wanted to say i'm sorry for not being with you and sunghoon as much. i know you guys say it's okay but i just feel bad because there are days that are supposed to be for us three but end up leaving you guys. i'm really sorry for it"
"jake.." yuna started, "you're so adorable" she chuckled before continuing, "you're a good kid jake. i know you would never intentionally leave sunghoon and i. you're busy and we're okay with that. i think it's cute how involved you are with school and extracurricular activities. it makes me jealous to be honest"
"what? jealous? about what?"
yuna shrugged, "you just seem so..accomplished? is that the right way to put it? but like you're doing so many things and still manage to get good grades, help people, and yah..you're the president of the student council, you volunteer at a animal shelter, youre the captain of the soccer team, you take violin lessons, and you're already applying for colleges like..i guess i just feel behind?"
"yuna" he began, "it's not always fun. it takes up a lot of time that i could be using to hang out with you and sunghoon. it gets tiring and i barely get any sleep. i don't even like being in the school tutoring. that takes up like 4 hours of my life from monday to friday.." he then got an idea, "hmm..what if i start ditching it?"
"yah jake!" yuna scolded him, "don't ditch classes"
"but it's so boring" he complained, "i guess i'll try and convince my mother to take me out of it but back on topic" he shook his head, "but back on topic, just because i'm doing so many things doesn't mean im accomplished miss captain of the track team" she cheekily smiled at him, "so you AND sunghoon both need to stop bringing yourselves down, okay?"
"fine" yuna agreed, "but also stop apologizing for not making time with us. whenever you have time for us, you have time. we'll still be friends no matter what. the only way we would get mad at you is if you didn't give us a reason as to why you didn't come "
"alright. i'll keep that in mind" he laughed then looked at the time at the top of his phone, "it's already two thirty, go get some sleep yuna"
"but i still ha-"
"go to sleep" he cut her off and she just sighed, saying okay in response, "i'll call you tomorrow, alright?"
"mhm. goodnight jake" yuna waved bye before ending the call
yuna threw her phone on her phone letting out a breath, "he's so freaking.." she grabbed her pillow, screaming into it. she looked up and sighed, "i hate that i like him. makes my heart race just by speaking.."

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
