"sunghoon is there something wrong with me?" yuna looked at herself in her full length mirror before turning her body to the boy who was sitting on her bed on his phone

"huh?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow and looking away from his phone and at yuna. she walked away from her mirror and towards sunghoon

"like-"

"are you comparing yourself to soovin?" sunghoon questioned, already knowing what she was doing

she scoffed, crossing her arms "no!-maybe.." she muttered the ending before falling beside him on her bed, her looking at the ceiling now, "how can i not?! she's smart, she's nice, she's pretty, she's everyone's ideal type! while im just.."

"you're smart"

"barely.."

sunghoon sighed, trying to do his best and comforting her, "you're nice and you're pretty as well yuyu. you don't need to compare yourself with her"

"but i'm not like her" she complained, "she has it all...she even has my crush!"

"i thought you were like you know...getting over him"

"i want too but i can't!" yuna groaned before she sat up and looked at the boy, placing her hands on his knees that were bent, "how'd you get over me?"

"can you not remind me of those horrible times?" sunghoon smacked his forehead while yuna chuckled

sunghoon liked yuna for about 2 years during the last year of secondary school and the 1st year of high school despite knowing she liked jake

"i honestly just told myself that you're my friend and that as long as we are friends, then i'll be happy then after a few more weeks, i just stopped liking you" he answered honestly, "i always forget i used to like you"

"so..i just have to tell myself jake is a friend..and that i'll be happy if we are just friends?" sunghoon nodded and she whined again, "i've been doing that since i was 8!"

"what even makes you like jake so much?" sunghoon questioned. he never honestly questioned why she liked him because he can why she likes him but he wanted to hear it from her

"his..stupid everything" she muttered, "he treats me nicely, just seeing him makes my heart race, i like hearing him talk, especially in english so i can hear his accent, he always does his best to see us-"

"which obviously isn't working" sunghoon cut her off and she glared at him but he just gestured her to finish

"he makes me laugh easily, he always worries for me and cares for me. he..just makes me feel special"

"세상이 아무리 날 주저앉혀도" sunghoon finished it off and she looked at him while he just gave her a cheeky smile, "sorry i had too but continue on"

"he makes me feel like a star in a galaxy and even calls me his star"

"isn't that a good thing?"

yuna looked at him, a sad smile on her face, "but he stares at soovin like she's the whole universe.."

yuna was stretching near the track, getting ready for the event when she saw sunghoon enter the track and walk towards the bleachers, going near the front so he can see yuna.

the bleachers were filled but yuna made sure there was a front spot for her friends to be at

once the boy reached the spot, he sat down. sunghoon saw her and smiled, waving at her. she quickly got up, excusing herself from her friends and jogged over to him, "thanks for coming!"

"i wouldn't miss it for the world" sunghoon chuckled then looked around, "where's soovin and jake?"

"not here yet i guess" yuna shrugged but kinda upset since jake said he would come but he wasn't there

"i'm sure he'll come yuna" sunghoon comforted her, "he's probably just late. you know how he is

"hmm..maybe if he doesn't come, i can get mad at him and my feelings will go away"

sunghoon chuckled, "trust me i tried that with you during my ice skating competitions, it didn't work out"

"hey guys!" a voice exclaimed for them and the two looked over, seeing soovin walk towards the two at the bleachers

"hey soovin. thank you for coming" yuna smiled and soovin nodded as she sat beside sunghoon, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jacket

"i've never been to a track event before so this will be interesting" soovin spoke and proceeded to look around as well, "didn't jake say he would be here for you?"

"i assumed he would be with you" yuna responded

"me?" she spoke in shock, a chuckle leaving her mouth, "are you guys shipping me with him already?"

"no-"

yuna cut sunghoon off, "yes! you guys look so cute together"

'what the fuck am i doing..?' yuna cursed at herself in her mind and wanted to just smack herself right then and there

"hmm..good to know" she laughed but shook her head afterwards, "back on topic, he wasn't with me so i don't know where he is right now"

"he probably just got busy or he'll show up later" sunghoon responded, "i'll text him"

"yuna!" a voice called out. yuna turned around and saw chaeryeong calling for her, "we're going to start soon"

yuna nodded and looked at the two, "see you guys after"

"good luck!" sunghoon and soovin spoke in unison making them glare at each other

yuna just laughed before turning around and walking over to chaeryeong and the rest of her members in track

about 10 more minutes had passed and jake still had not shown up. he hadn't even sent a text or call at all

"where the hell is he?" sunghoon muttered to himself as he and soovin tried calling him multiple times but he wasn't answering

"is yuna going to be upset?" soovin asked as all her messages to jake were left on delivered

"she said she wouldn't mind if he couldn't but he said if he couldn't show up, he would call or text but he hasn't at all which would make her upset. he promised he would show up"

yuna looked over at sunghoon and he looked at her, shaking his head, his eyes telling her that jake probably wasn't going to show up

she sighed but nodded and kept a grin on her face as she faced her members again

"that stupid grin" sunghoon scowled at her, crossing his arms

"do you like her?" soovin questioned, curious about his feelings as well

"what is it with you and people liking each other?" she shrugged, "and no i don't like her"

'i just happen to know that her smile is fake..' sunghoon thought as he looked at yuna

the event began and yuna kneeled in her lane, trying to get her mind off of the fact that jake wasn't there even though he promised

"could've at least texted.." she muttered to herself but shook her head, getting any other thoughts out of her head

she took in a deep breath before looking straight ahead of her, her mind now blank of any other thoughts.

"go!" the moment yuna heard that, she ran off along with the other contestants and immediately..yuna was behind everyone, the last one

"i thought you said she was fast at running.." soovin whispered to sunghoon as he clapped for yuna

"oh she is" he smiled at soovin, looking at her, "trust me she wouldn't be the captain or called the faster runner in the school if she was that slow "

soovin was going to question him but stopped when sunghoon began yelling, "go bae yuna!"

soovin shrugged and went along with him as well, "go yuna!!"

yuna spent a few more seconds going at a slow pace before she eventually began speeding up her pace and almost immediately surpassed all of the other racers except for the first place; which yuna wasn't scared about since she knew she could pass them easily but she wanted to give them hope for a little bit

"and you doubted her" sunghoon scoffed

"i did not" soovin frowned at him before shouting for yuna again, "yuna!!"

hearing her friends and her school shout for her made her feel at ease and feel better; not that she was feeling bad since going to first place wasn't a problem for her

yuna quickened up her pace once again and wasted no time in passing by the 1st place person—who was now in 2nd place

the whole school rooted for yuna as she wasn't far from the finish line at all

sunghoon looked at his phone again and still there was no text or even one missed called from jake

sunghoon scoffed before he quickly went onto an app and soovin looked over at his phone screen, confused on what he was doing, "do you have a gps app on jake??"

"no!- well yes b-but! me, yuna, and jake all have the app so it was mutually agreed" sunghoon explained and soovin just nodded slowly

"where is he?"

"dumbass has his location off-"

a bunch of people shouting suddenly which cut him off and when the two looked in front they saw yuna crossing the finish line

"yuna!!" the two shouted, clapping loudly for her. yuna was panting with her hands on her knees and she looked over at the two, smiling at them but to her dismay, jake was not there at all

after sunghoon and soovin had congratulated yuna, the two had left to go home while yuna stayed in the locker room packing up her things

she was the last one of her members to leave and last one in the locker room

yuna sat on the bench in the room behind her and sighed, "he said he would come.." she looked at her phone and saw no messages or calls

yuna shook her head and stood up, shoving the rest of her things in her bag and slamming her locker door close

she threw on her hoodie and grabbed her bag, leaving the locker room.

yuna walked through the hallways before finally reaching the entrance of the school.

just as she exited the school, she saw someone standing in the distance, looking down at their phone leaning on the wall behind them

she stopped in her footsteps and just stared at the boy with her arms crossed

the boy noticed the footsteps stopped and he looked at the girl. he grinned awkwardly and walked over to her, "listen i know you're probably mad-"

"i'm not mad"

jake looked at her surprised, "you're not..?"

"no" she answered, "i am fucking mad. i'm just being sarcastic" her face had a sarcastic smile on it and jake could see the anger in both her eyes and her smile.

jake stood in shock since it isn't often that yuna swears and if she does, she usually cuts herself off. jake knew he made the girl mad

"i'm so over you missing sunghoon and i's events and competitions when we take the time out of our day to go to your things. you could've at least sent a text" yuna spoke, trying her best to just not shout at him, "how would you feel if i just didn't go to your things?"

"i would be upset too.."

"exactly! but you wouldn't know since i never ditch you!" she slightly exclaimed but took in a deep breath afterwards and ran a hand through her hair

"i got busy and i couldn't make it" he bit his lip as he held out a bag towards her, "..i'm sorry"

yuna looked at the bag and scoffed, crossing her arms, "if you want to make it up to me then just.." yuna hated herself at the fact she couldn't be mad at him, "just show up to one of my events in the future and give a heads up if you can't come. don't make promises you can't commit too"

"so..are you still mad at me?" he asked, still holding out the bag hoping for her to take it even if she didn't forgive him

"yes" she spoke, looking at the bag again, pushing it lightly back towards him, "i don't need your pity gifts"

jake slowly took the bag back, "i'm really sorry yuna"

'stop looking so cute when apologizing..' yuna bit her lip trying to stop herself from just forgiving him right then and there

"can i walk you home?" he offered, pointing towards the sidewalk

"you can go home on your own" yuna grabbed her airpods out of her bag and put them in before walking past jake and beginning to walk away

jake sighed as he watched yuna walk away. he stared at the bag in his hand, "guess i'll have to find another occasion to give this to you.."
