《Cheat List || Taekook》Chapter 31

A bright smile was visible on Taehyung's face as he made his way to the back of the stage again. The cheers from the audience still sounded loudly and a proud feeling was filling the grey haired boy up completely. He had done it. Taehyung had made it through to the next round of The voice and the singer couldn't be more happy about that fact.
It had only been the first live show and yet the people who were watching at home had already taken a liking in him. Taehyung had been the very first person who had heard that he would be going through to the next round and somehow that fact made the singer even more proud. Maybe Jungkook had been right all along, maybe he was special.
Happiness was practically radiating off of the grey haired boy and with a happy skip in his step he was now making his way back again to his dressing room, the loud cheers of the audience slowly starting to fade more and more as Taehyung walked away further from the stage. It didn't take long for the boy to reach his dressing room and quickly Taehyung pushed open the door, only to be met with the awfully familiar sight of his phone still laying on the table where Taehyung had left it.
Flashes of Bogum's text immediately started to infiltrate Taehyung's mind again and a deep sigh immediately left the boy's mouth. This whole deal had been going on for too long now and it was about time it all would end. Without thinking twice Taehyung walked over to his phone and picked up the device before pressing Bogum's contact button and calling it. Immediately Taehyung's heart started to beat more rapidly in his chest and he closed his eyes softly while a new set of nervousness slowly began to infiltrate his body.
Who would have thought that the boy who he'd once loved so much would now the be the very reason why Taehyung was feeling nervous. Nervous, not because of excitement but because of what the older male's reaction was going to be on Taehyung calling it quits between the two of them. Obviously the grey haired boy wasn't going to break up with him through the phone, he was actually planning on meeting Bogum and telling him face to face that it wasn't going to work out between the two of them anymore.

Of course the downfall for their relationship hadn't been purely Bogum fucking Baekhyun. While Taehyung at first loved to blame all of the bad things in their relationship on the older male, he too had had a big part in it himself. Sure Bogum cheated and that was far from okay, but the two of them had been struggling with each other for months now. Their interest had grown quite far apart from each other and somehow they lately hadn't been on the same wavelength anymore. Slowly the two of them had driven apart, both had just been too stubborn to admit so.
It wasn't revenge what Taehyung was looking for by meeting up with Bogum, it purely was closure. He did care for the older male and it was safe to say that his soon to be ex-boyfriend had been his very first love. That exactly was the reason for the grey haired boy to want to end their relationship on good terms. He didn't want to walk around Seoul, afraid he'll somewhere meet Bogum. He wanted to be free once again and if he ever was destined to meet the older male again then he wanted to be able to talk to him a bit without awkwardness dawning upon the both of them .
The phone inside Taehyung's hand rang three times before someone finally picked up. "Hello?" The familiar voice of Bogum spoke, that oh so familiar tone of the older boy's voice infiltrating Taehyung's ear. The grey haired boy took a deep breath before he answered.
"Hey, it's Tae." The singer spoke in a slightly nervous tone and immediately a loud gasp could be heard on the other side of the line. It was as clear as crystal that Bogum hadn't expected an answer from the younger and the fact that Taehyung was now actually calling him hadn't come quite expected. A soft laugh left the grey haired boy's mouth upon hearing that gasp and he softly shook his head.

"Baby, how have you been? I watched your show and you did amazing." Bogum then quickly spoke in the phone, a hint of nervousness lacing his voice too. Somehow hearing that tone in the older male's voice too made Taehyung a bit more secure about himself. Right now the two of them had something really complicated going on between them and neither of them clearly liked it one bit. It was finally time to end all this complicated shit and maybe decide to just stay friends, if Bogum was also willing to stay like that.
"I've been good but that's not what I called you for." Taehyung then spoke, a sudden wave of courage crashing over him. "Can we talk in person? Like right now?" The grey haired boy then asked, followed by silence from the other side of the line. "Uhhm yeah sure, come on over."
Upon hearing those words a small smile formed itself on the singer's lips and he quickly said his goodbyes too Bogum before he ended the call. Finally the end of their misery would be in sight. The both of them would be free to do whatever they wanted without feeling guilty towards the other and somehow that really made Taehyung feel happy.
Almost instantly after Taehyung had hung up the phone two soft knocks could be heard on the other side of the door and the grey haired boy quickly walked over to open it. However as soon as he carefully opened the wooden door he immediately got wrapped into two strong arms while the familiar scent of Jungkook's cologne infiltrated his nose.
"You did it! I am so proud of you." Jungkook spoke happily as he spinned Taheyung around, a smile visible on his face. Taehyung laughed softly at the antics of the other boy and he nodded enthusiastically. "All thanks to you!" The grey haired boy answered, a genuine tone lacing his voice. It was true, his whole performance Taehyung had only focused on the younger's face and it was because of Jungkook that the older boy had actually made it through his whole performance. Without Jungkook it would have all been one big disaster.
However Jungkook clearly seemed to think different about that fact. "Nope, it's just because you're a good ass singer." The brunette spoke while sending a wink Taehyung's way, his strong arms still engulfing the much smaller boy. Taehyung's cheeks instantly began to turn a bit red and he quickly avoided eye contact with the other male, trying to not embarrass himself.
"Let's meet up tomorrow for practice okay? We have to pick out your next song." Jungkook then spoke, a genuine smile playing at his lips. Taehyung nodded enthusiastically while the happy feeling from before once again began to enter his body. Jungkook had a way of knowing exactly what to do to make Taehyung feel happy and appreciated and for that the grey haired boy was truly thankful.
Tomorrow would be all filled with sunshines and rainbows again, however today a hard task was still awaiting him. Right now it was finally time to head over to the place he once called home and to the hardest thing he had ever done in his life.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author.
