When I wake and slowly open my eyes I immediately look over at daddy and a gasp escapes me. "Caius!" I scream. Seconds later Caius bursts through the door in an attack position. Then he sees daddy and gasps. "Impossible!" He says. I stumble over to daddy. He was young again. His hair was pitch black, his face wrinkle free. He looked....amazing. I listen to his heart and gasp. It had only been a day maybe less and his transformation was almost finished. "Get Carlisle now!" Caius yells at Santiago. I collapse beside daddy. "Listen to his heart Caius. He's almost done." I whisper. Caius kneels beside me and puts an arm around me. It was his way of protecting me if daddy were to lash out. He was after all. A new born, In a way. "How is this possible Caius?" I ask. Caius shakes his head pulling me closer. "I have no idea cara. None of this makes any sense." Caius say. I nod into his chest before looking back over at daddy. Daddy's heart speeds up frantically and I knew it was only a matter of minutes before he would wake. Caius pulls me closer as the minutes tick down and soon he was squeezing me tightly to the point where I had to tell him to relax. Finally Caius gasps as we listen to daddy's heart. "Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump-" I gasp and look at daddy. "Daddy?" I ask softly. Daddy doesn't move but I gasp as his eyes shoot open. Daddy quickly sits up causing Caius to pull me back. "Brother" Caius asks in a warning tone. Daddy slowly looks down at his hands. Then looks around before looking over at us. I didn't know if daddy remembered because sometimes a transformation can strip a newborn of its memories. "Aro?" Caius asks slowly once more. Daddy swallows before finally speaking "Brother." Daddy says. Caius nods and I push him aside. Daddy's eyes widen and he opens his arms. I waste no time in diving into his arms. Daddy hugs me tightly and tears stream down my face. "Daddy!" I cry. Daddy shushes me gently and slowly strokes my hair. "Shhh neonota." Daddy whispers softly gently kissing my head. "Daddy." I continue to sob Into his chest. Daddy holds me close. "I'm so sorry Mia bambino." Daddy whispers. Tears streamed down my face as I clung to him. "Shhh bambino. I'm alright. I promise." Daddy whispers pulling me closer. I slowly look up at him and daddy smiles kissing my head. I breath deeply before looking up at him. "Daddy?" I ask. Daddy meets my eyes. I gently take his hand before losing my shields. Daddy's eyes widen as he pulls my hand closer. I could feel Daddy in my head going through all my thoughts. He had his gift back. Then daddy frowns. "What is it brother?" Caius asks. "My gift. It's not just thoughts. It's emotions." Daddy says. My eyes widen. As do daddy's as he feels all the pain and agony I had felt this past week. Daddy pulls me closer. "I'm so sorry Mia bambino." Daddy whispers looking like he could cry. I bury my face in his chest and shake my head. "It wasn't your fault daddy. Your weren't in control." I whisper into his chest. Daddy sighs and I could still see the pain in his eyes if I looked hard enough. Daddy sighs once more before wincing. I look up and see black spots in his eyes. "You need to feed daddy." I say. Caius tenses and I couldn't blame him after last time. Daddy nods and let's go of me. I stand and so does daddy. I take his hand and he looks over at me. I could see the pain in his eyes for what he had done. For attacking me. For hurting me. Daddy sighs and pulls me close gently kissing the cut on my forehead. "It's ok daddy. I forgive you." I say. Dad smiles slightly and nods. I had forgotten he was still holding my hand. Daddy smiles slightly once more before letting go. Caius and I lead daddy to the throne room where Uncle Marcus had some humans waiting. Daddy doesn't wait and lunges at the humans before he starts draining one after another. When there were no humans left, daddy turns to me. I giggle slightly seeing blood dribble down his chin. "Better?" I ask. Daddy chuckles and nods. I go over and hug him tightly. Daddy smiles and gently strokes my hair. "We should go. Marcus is bring the others to feed." Caius says as more humans are brought in. Daddy and I nod before I lead daddy to his room. We leave him there to shower and change as Caius takes me to his study. As we waited for daddy I curled up in my mates arms. Caius was gently stroking my hair. This made me smile. When daddy finally walked in I can't keep the smile from my face. Daddy smiles and comes over pulling me into a hug. I hug him tightly. "How do you feel Daddy?" I ask looking up into his blood red eyes. Daddy smiles and kisses my forehead. "I'm alright neonata." Daddy says. I nod.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat, 10am Central/ 3pm GMT. ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.

Once proud societies are crumbling into ruin and barbarity as those with ambition vie to seize what few bits of fading power they can. Amidst this tumult, there are still some stories to be told about those few who cling to life wanting more than power and trinkets. This is the saga of those few who hope for a better future. Those few who defy the hidden entities that devour their world. Those few who refuse to be the pawns of fate.
