Melinda’s Move Silently check: 1d20+6 = 12
Frostmane’s Move Silently check: 1d20+6 = 19
Siora’s Move Silently Check: 1d20+4 = 21
Vestele’s Move Silently check: 1d20+2 = 14
Charmed Huntress 1’s Move Silently check: 1d20+0 = 8
Charmed Huntress 2’s Move Silently check: 1d20+0 = 2
Huntresses’ Listen check: 1d20+4 = 8
Fiendish Dire Wolf’s Listen check: 1d20+7 = 9
Krynixia’s Listen check: 1d20+14 = 31
To say that we were entirely stealthy would be a lie. In fact, one of our charmed Huntresses nearly gave the whole game away, cursing as she stumbled on a stair. And yet, we achieved near-total surprise, thanks to how caught up in the moment the people were with the ritual. Unfortunately, the one person who noticed the sound of our coming was the one person who we most wanted to surprise.

Frostmane’s Attack (Krynixia): 1d20+18 = 37 (Hit)
Bite damage: 1d8+14 = 19 (DR 10/Cold Iron or Good)
Frozen Bite: 1d6 = 1 (Cold) (10 Resisted)
Frostmane’s Trip Attempt: 1d20+13 = 30
Krynixia’s DEX check: 1d20+7 = 10 (Fail, Prone)
As planned, Frostmane leapt to the attack. The woman I had pegged as the Mother was on her guard, since she knew we were here, but she didn’t know where we were, exactly. That surprise allowed Frostmane to just barely get hold of her with his jaws, and throw her to the ground. The Mother bled, but she was far from defeated.
Melinda’s readied attack (Krynixia): 1d20+15 = 28 (Touch) (Hit)
Melinda’s Caster Level check: 1d20+9 = 18 (Success)
Eldritch Blast damage: 6d6 = 17 (Magic)
I followed up Frostmane’s attack with one of my own. A bolt of violet flew through the air, striking the prone form of the disguised demon. It felt as though I just barely managed to land the shot, however. The demon’s spell resistance had to be fairly high.
Charmed Huntress 1’s readied attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+9 = 14 (Miss)
Charmed Huntress 2’s readied attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+9 = 19 (Hit)
Damage: 1d8+3 = 5 (Bludgeoning)
Siora and Vestele’s pet Huntresses appeared as the invisibility broke, their morningstars both aimed at the closest of the enemy Huntresses. Only the second Huntress managed to land her blow, however, and, even then, that was only because the Huntress could not use her shield while conducting the ritual. Still, if they could just keep one or more of the enemies occupied, that was good enough for me.
Fiendish Dire Wolf’s Will Save (Charm Monster): 1d20+6 = 7 (Fail, Charmed)
Huntress 2’s Will Save (Charm Person): 1d20+10 = 14 (Fail, Charmed)
Siora and Vestele then unleashed spells upon the Fiendish Dire wolf, and the Huntress closest to Frostmane. Both spells hit their targets. And both their targets stopped what they had been doing, and turned to look at Siora and Vestele. Together, they pointed to the Mother, and called out, “Kill the Mother!”
Frostmane’s AoO (Krynixia): 1d20+18 = 35 (Miss)
Krynixia’s attack (Frostmane): 1d20+20 = 35 (Hit)
Damage: 1d4+5 = 7 (Slashing)
Frostmane’s Will Save (Mind Fog): 1d20+9 = 19 (Success)
The demon in human guise was not so easily dismayed. Springing to her feet, she idly brushed Frostmane’s snapping jaws to the side, before one hand went to her hip, and slashed out with an easy slash, finding the gap in Frostmane’s armor easily enough. Frostmane staggered for a second, but shook it off the next moment, as the woman hissed at him.

Melinda’s Attack Roll (Krynixia): 1d20+11 = 23 (Hit)
Melinda’s CL check: 1d20+9 = 16 (Fail)
I tried to distract the Mother with another blast. Lining up the shot was difficult enough, trying to not catch the big white wolf in the mix, but I managed to hit the woman in the chest. Unfortunately, I could see quite clearly as the spell fizzled, not affecting her in the slightest.
“Oh, Selune, grant your light to these saviors in the darkness!” The silver celestial, still restrained by the iron spikes, clearly still had some life left in her. I recognized the Bless spell when it fell upon me, though the silver light we glowed with was different from the times when Vestele used the spell.
The Mother snarled at us as she took in the scene, seeing that we had charmed several of her pawns. “You insignificant mortals! How DARE you interfere with my plans!” Black smoke rose up around her, and her body changed, growing horns and a pair of batlike wings, to go with reddish skin, and a beauty that men would sell their souls to taste, literally. The Succubus looked back at us, and said, “You meddle with the toys of Krynixia the Malevolent! Do not expect to be forgiven!”
Charmed Huntress 1’s attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+12 = 16 (Miss)
Charmed Huntress 1’s Attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+7 = 16 (Miss)
Charmed Huntress 2’s attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+12 = 22 (Hit)
Damage: 1d8+3 = 6 (Bludgeoning)
Charmed Huntress 2’s attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+7 = 10 (Miss)
Siora and Vestele’s pets continued their attacks on the closest of the enemies. Despite moving to flank the Huntress, the first one’s attacks failed to hit. But the second pet huntress managed to land a blow. Not a telling blow, but a blow all the same.
Huntress 1’s attack (Melinda): 1d20+9 = 24 (Miss)
Huntress 2’s Attack (Krynixia): 1d20+10 = 29 (Miss)
Huntress 3’s attack (Charmed Huntress 1): 1d20+9 = 29 (Crit threat)
Confirm crit: 1d20+9 = 22 (Crit)
Damage: 2d8+6 = 14 (Bludgeoning)
Huntress 3’s attack (Charmed Huntress 1): 1d20+4 = 10 (Miss)
Huntress 4’s attack (Siora): 1d20+9 = 14 (Miss)
Huntress 5’s attack (Fiendish Dire Wolf): 1d20+9 = 13 (Miss)
Then the confusion really began, as the Huntresses that had been taking part in the ritual sprang into action. One came at me, but I easily dodged her blow. Siora and the dire wolf also got some ‘attention’ from the Huntresses, but they were just as ineffective. In fact, the only Huntress showing any usefulness was the one attacking the girls’ pets from the previous chamber.
Siora’s Concentration check: 1d20+17 = 30 (Success)
Huntress 4’s Will Save (Hold Person): 1d20+10 = 16 (Fail)
Siora was unamused by the Huntress’s attempt to kill her. Sticking to as few motions as she could, she cast her spell, and the Huntress froze in place, bound by the Beguiler’s magic. “Just sit there and think about what you’ve done, hmm?”

Frostmane’s Attack (Krynixia): 1d20+19 = 24 (Miss)
Frostmane once again attempted to bring his jaws to bear against the demoness, now that she had revealed her true form, but she easily maneuvered out of reach of his jaws. The white wolf snarled in frustration. “This one’s even more slippery than you are, little bird!”
Huntress 5’s AoO (FDW): 1d20+9 = 26 (Hit)
Damage: 1d8+3 = 8 (Bludgeoning)
FDW’s attack (Krynixia): 1d20+14 = 21 (Miss)
The dire wolf left its place over the Celestial, and darted towards Krynixia. It yelped as the Huntress it ignored scored a hit on its flank as it moved, but it still followed Siora’s orders, and attacked the demoness. Unfortunately, the succubus was able to maneuver out of the wolf’s reach easily enough, even with her now being penned in on all sides.
Huntress 1’s Will Save (Hold Person): 1d20+10 = 17 (Fail)
Seeing her sister’s spell freeze her attacker in place, Vestele smiled. “Oh, such interesting ideas you have, sister. Well, two can play that game!” Taking a step to put one of the pets between herself and the hostile Huntress, she turned her gaze upon the huntress in front of me. “May the Queen’s power take you!” The Huntress froze, locked in place by the spell.

Melinda’s Attack Roll (Krynixia): 1d20+12 = 24 (Touch) (Hit)
Melinda’s CL check: 1d20+9 = 22 (Success)
Eldritch Chain: 6d6 = 28 (Magic)
Melinda’s Attack roll (Huntress 1): 1d20+16 = 18 (Touch) (Hit)
Eldritch Chain: 14 (Magic)
Once again, I wove my magic through the melee, and once again I landed the violet energies of raw magic upon the demoness. This time, however, they punched through, and, if her expression was anything to go by, they punched HARD. The blast jumped from the demoness to the helpless Huntress held before me, striking her in the back. “Focus on the demon. Nothing else in here is a real threat!”
Silver Celestial’s CL Check (Krynixia): 1d20+5 = 23 (Success)
“May the prayers of the faithful raise up their defenders and cause their foes to quake!” The celestial spoke again, and again silver light wrapped around us. “My Prayer will only last a little while. I cannot be of more service like this. Make the most of it!”
Krynixia’s Concentration check: 1d20+25 = 40 (Success)
Frostmane’s Will Save (Charm Monster): 1d20+10 = 14 (Fail, Charmed)
“Only I am a threat, hmm? But what if the threat comes from one of you?” She turned to look at Frostmane, and said, “You’re a lovely specimen. Perhaps I should have you replace my other wolf as the little celestial’s breeding partner, hmm?” There was a flash of magic, and then Frostmane’s eyes glazed over. “Go kill the warlock.”
Charmed Huntress 1’s attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+13 = 33 (Crit Threat)
Confirm Crit: 1d20+13 = 23 (Crit)
Damage: 2d8+8 = 18 (Bludgeoning)
Charmed Huntress 1’s Attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+8 = 17 (Miss)
Charmed Huntress 2’s attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+13 = 29 (Hit)
Damage: 1d8+4 = 12 (Bludgeoning)
Charmed Huntress 2’s attack (Huntress 3): 1d20+8 = 12 (Miss)
The light from the celestial’s spell embraced the pet huntresses, and, this time, they both managed to land telling blows on the Huntress trapped between them. One morningstar crashed directly into the Huntress’s face, causing her to spit out a few teeth. “You look much better like that, Sister!”
Huntress 1’s Will Save: 1d20+9 = 17 (Fail)
Huntress 2’s Attack (Krynixia): 1d20+11 = 25 (Miss)
Huntress 2’s Attack (Krynixia): 1d20+6 = 10 (Miss)
Huntress 3’s attack (Charmed Huntress 1): 1d20+8 = 25 (Hit)
Damage: 1d8+3 = 8 (Bludgeoning)
Huntress 3’s attack (Charmed Huntress 1): 1d20+3 = 16 (Miss)
Huntress 4’s Will Save: 1d20+9 = 22 (Success)
Huntress 5’s attack (Melinda): 1d20+8 = 18 (Miss)
The Huntress responded to that jab by smacking the offending pet with her morningstar once again. “Don’t think you’ll get off lightly for this betrayal, bitch!” Apparently, she disliked supposed allies trying to kill her.
As one huntress tried to take on the demon, and failed, another came forward to try and attack me, but I easily danced out of the way of the blow. The celestial’s spell had not only affected us, but had made the enemy’s attacks slower, clumsier. Considering that I saw one of the paralyzed Huntresses manage to break free of Siora’s spell, I considered that a good thing.
Siora’s Concentration check: 1d20+17 = 29 (Success)
Frostmane’s Will Save (Deep Slumber): 1d20+10 = 19 (Fail)
Siora’s eyes went wide as she realized what was about to happen. “Sorry, Frostmane, but you’re going to need to sit this one out.” As she spoke, she unleashed a spell, and Frostmane collapsed to the ground, asleep.
FDW’s attack (Krynixia): 1d20+13 = 23 (Miss)
The dire wolf snapped its jaws at the succubus, but it was painfully obvious that I was going to be the only one who could fight against her, now that Frostmane was out of the fight. And even I didn’t have it easy! Her defenses were simply too good. If the girls hadn’t locked down the Huntresses, we would have been in serious trouble.
Vestele’s CL Check: 1d20+8 = 28 (Success)
Krynixia’s Will Save (Deific Vengeance): 1d20+15 = 23 (Success, Half Damage)
Damage: 4d6 = 14 (Magic) (7 taken)
Vestele clearly realized that, too, since she took a breath, and said, “May the Queen of the Succubi take you, faithless one!” A bolt of reddish light descended from midair to strike the succubus. While the demon definitely managed to avoid the worst of it, I could tell that she was as surprised at the denouncement as she was the damage, her eyes narrowing at the priestess.
