CHAPTER 27: Adjusting to Increased Stats & Torture
"Master, I am adding useful pieces of information to the relevant notifications from now on.
MJ highlighted the Race section in my [STATUS] and the notification that appeared was about the race that I evolved into, and it had additional information from MJ's Tier-4 System Access.
Greater Human - a Greater race of Human Species MJ Tier-4 Access Info: - Evolved from Lesser Human Race - LifeSpan expanded from 100 to 250 years. - Undistributed Stats per level increased from 5 to 10. Tier-2 Evolution: Lesser Human to Greater Human. Tier-3 Evolution: Greater Human to High Human. Tier-4 Evolution: High Human to Arch Human.
Following that, another notification about my Level appeared with additional information.
Level: 11 (Low-Phase) MJ Tier-4 Access Info: Tier-1: Lv.1 to Lv.10 Tier-2: Lv.11 to Lv.25 Tier-3: Lv.25 to Lv.50 Tier-4: Lv.50 to Lv.100
Similarly, lots of notifications appeared about most of the aspects of my [STATUS]. With this, my understanding of the system reached a higher degree.
More notable points were the Uncommon Skills I gained from reaching 20 Stats in my Attributes, [Passive Health Regeneration-I], [Passive Stamina Regeneration-I], and [Passive Spirit Energy Regeneration-I].
The [Passive Stamina Regeneration-I] regenerated 1 Stamina point per second, and the same goes for the other two passive skills as they regenerate at 1 value per second.
Meanwhile, I learned that I didn't activate the Achievement Title, [Beginners Luck]. So, I activated it, and my Stats in Luck attribute increased from 7 to 12.
It was no wonder that I didn't receive any other Spirit Items from the Tier-1 Wolves that I killed. I wondered if I could get more Spirit Items when I kill a monster with just a 5 stat increment in the Luck Attribute.
Even MJ couldn't give more information about Luck Attribute, except for the standard 'extra rewards' answer.
I didn't bother much about it and got off my bed to prepare breakfast as my stomach created rumbling sounds.
But when I tried to approach the kitchen, I felt it was hard to maintain my balance while walking and the control I had over my body was poor.
The 10 Stats increment in all the 5 main Attributes in my [STATUS] that I gained in Tier-2 Evolution was the leading cause for my lack of proper control over my body.
My Strength, Agility, and Spirit Attributes were the same at 32 Stats. In comparison, the Endurance Attribute has 46 Stats and the Vitality Attribute, which has the highest of all other Attributes, stood at 56 Stats.
Through MJ, I gained a deep understanding of the 5 main Attributes.
The most important finding was that all the 5 main Attributes are interrelated as the Agility Attribute was not the one that directly increases speed. Only by increasing the Strength Attribute, which enhances muscle strength, could one move at high speed.

But there lies a problem, when just Strength Attribute was increased without enough Stats in Agility Attribute, not even a quarter of its potential could be displayed.
What the Agility attribute does was that it increases control of overall muscles in the body and improves muscle movement whilst keeping balance and fluid movement. It also increases reaction speed and muscle memory.
So, 'Agility' depends on 'Strength' and in the same way 'Strength' depends on 'Endurance.'
To contain the explosiveness of strengthened muscles from the increased Strength Attribute, the body constitution should be high.
What happens when Endurance Attribute does not match the increased Strength Attribute was that the Body's Constitution, which includes Bone Density, Tendons, ligaments, Skin, and other internal body factors, can't contain the power of the strengthened muscles, which in turn causes pain and self-damage.
In the case of Spirit Attribute, it was essential to increase it along with Agility Attribute.
Since, without a high enough Spirit Attribute, which provides increased perception of time and brain processing power and muscle memory, the Agility Attribute cannot show its full potential.
Finally, when it comes to the Vitality Attribute, without it, all the increased attributes like Strength, Agility, Endurance, and Spirit cannot function correctly in a long-term perspective.
For me, the Vitality and Endurance Attributes were higher than other Attributes, but that was not a good thing if it exceeds the Golden Stat Rule.
As for the Golden Stat Rule, it was set by the System. According to this rule, the Attribute with the highest Stats of the 5 main Attributes should not exceed the Attribute with the lowest Stats by the amount that equals the highest level of their respective Tier.
In the case of a Tier-1 individual, his Attribute with highest Stats should not exceed the Attribute with lowest Stats by 10 Stats since the highest possible level in Tier-1 is Lv.10.
When it comes to a Tier-2 Individual like me, the Attribute with the highest Stats should not exceed the Attribute with the lowest Stats by 25 Stats since the highest possible level in Tier-2 is Lv.25.
Suppose, if one couldn't meet the requirements of the Golden Stat Rule for a prolonged period of time, it becomes dangerous to any individual as their life force will be slowly consumed, affecting their Life Span since the Attribute with lowest Stats couldn't keep up with the function of the Attribute with Highest Stats.
As the difference between my Vitality Attribute and the Strength/Agility/Spirit Attribute was 24 Stats. I was in luck since If I had 2 more stats in my Vitality Attribute, I would have misfortunately broken the Golden Stat Rule.
I didn't merge with the Grade-3 Innate Talents that I looted from the Tier-2 Wolf and Bear since MJ informed me that merging with them was a time-consuming process.

I wanted to add my remaining Undistributed Stats so that the difference between Attribute with highest Stats and the Attribute with lowest Stats.
But before that, I had to adjust myself to the improved Stats. So, for the next half an hour, I worked on my body control.
In the first 5 minutes, I was able to walk normally. In the next 10 minutes, I could move without making any loud thumping sounds and handle slightly advanced movements like jogging and slow runs.
In the last 15 minutes of the half an hour, I was able to make quick and sharp movements. Still, there were also incidents where I smashed into walls and almost broke them, and by the end of the 30 minutes, my house was in a mess.
But I got a quick hang of the control over my increased Stats. It would look unusual to any person who was already assimilated with the System since adjusting to the sudden increase of 10 Stats in all of the 5 main Attributes under 30 minutes was way too quick.
MJ concluded that the reason behind my quick adjustment to the increased Stats was because I experienced the state of harmony in [INVERSE] mode, where I had 62* Stats in all of my 5 main Attributes of [LOOTED STATUS].
With that, I was able to adjust to the increased Stats in just half an hour. After that, I started to prepare Breakfast for myself, and it reminded me of my food source in Trial World, which was the [Lesser Stamina Fruits].
The main reason for bringing those Spirit Fruits was to see if they could heal my sibling's physical conditions and my Grandfather's coma condition.
So, I brought out the three [Lesser Stamina Fruits] and the two [High Vitality Fruits] from my bag and inquired with MJ.
MJ asserted, not to let them consume the [High Vitality Fruit] at once since the sudden increase in Vitality would be fatal for a person who was not assimilated with the System.
He then explained how the Spirit fruits affect their consumer and that the [High Vitality Fruit] was a Grade-3 Spirit Fruit.
The key takeaway was that the Spirit Fruit effect depends on the Tier of the person who consumes it.
In my case, I ate a [High Vitality Fruit] when I was in Tier-1, So, I gained 10 stats in Vitality Attribute.
But if I consumed it in Tier-2, I would have only obtained 1 or 3 Stats in Vitality Attribute. Similarly, if I consume it in Tier-3, It would only recover my health without adding even a single stat in my Vitality Attribute.
When It comes to a person who was not assimilated with the System, It will increase their vitality by more than 25 Stats.
Even if they miraculously survive it, they would soon lose their Life Force from breaking the Golden Stat Rule.
But of course, there was a solution to that. It was to let my siblings consume just a few drops of the sap from [High Vitality Fruit] since the fruit part has a higher vitality concentration.
So, I extracted all the sap I could from the [High Vitality Fruit]. The result was the near 100ml golden-coloured sap, which filled the entire kitchen with its invigorating aroma.
Just by getting a whiff of it, I felt energized. Following that, I filled the sap into a 100-millilitre mini refreshing spray bottle that I normally use to spray my face with water to get rid of sleepiness.
In another few minutes, I prepared breakfast, and when I was about to eat, I got a phone call from my younger brother Kay.
But when I picked up the call, the smile on my face froze as the voice I hear was not my brother's but a crackling male voice, "You must be the punk, Kay's elder brother Jay, right? "
When I heard the voice's tone, I had a bad premonition and signalled MJ as he turned in a streak of blue light and disappeared into my PC screen.
Meanwhile, I replied, ".....Yes."
With 32 Stats in my Spirit Attribute, my senses were 3.2 times higher than a normal person. So, I could grasp more details in the sounds from the phone call.
"Keke….Then this is for you….."
After that, I heard the footsteps of the unknown man who was carrying the phone, as he moved towards the source of the occasional grunts and yells of pain.
My eyes turned ice cold, and my body subconsciously quivered when I recognised my brother's voice within the yells that were filled with pain.
I heard the man who talked with me, suggesting another person in a sarcastic tone, "Where did your lose your sense of symmetry, pluck off his last fingernail as well."
Just then, I heard another bloodcurdling scream of my brother and when I was about to lose my rationality from the bubbling rage, MJ's A.I form appeared in front of me as he exited my PC screen.
MJ's diligent voice resounded in my head, "Master, I tracked their phone signal and found their location. It's 22.4 km (14 miles) from here!"

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
