《Earth's Alpha Prime》99. Momentary Materialisation Technique

CHAPTER 99: Momentary Materialisation Technique
It didn't take long for the horde of monsters to enter my view, and once they were within my 500-meter range, I could perceive everything with great detail thanks to .
Looking at so many monsters, I could only assume the worst for the Alpha Chosen in this new trial zone, that they weren't able to deal with the monsters and most probably died in the first few days of the trial program.
I took out the from the storage space of . However, I didn't hold it and instead let it float beside me.
I didn't wield the nor the 's, because their size was too small to use in mode. I only brought out the to use its skill and assist me in fighting the monsters.
After that, I told Dante to stay close to the barrier and put Storm Eagle MJ up to deal with the seven Low-Phase Tier-3 monsters that were approaching from Earth's trial zone.
As for the horde of monsters that were nearing us from the new trial zone, I intended to test out the technique I learned when I reached 2% mastery in Origin Energy on them.
The first one to reach me was a glider sized Sonic Bat, as it was the fastest out of the eight Low-Phase Tier-3 monsters that were leading the monster horde.
I already fought a Sonic Bat on day-4, but the one I fought was only a Tier-2 monster, and I had knowledge of its skills. Sonic Bats' attacks focus on using sound waves to attack, which makes them difficult to evade, as sound travels a lot faster.
So, when I saw that the Sonic Bat in front of me was about to open its mouth, I immediately knew that it was going to use the skill , which was its species related skill.
So, before the Sonic Bat could launch the attack, I used on it, causing it to be pulled towards me at a high speed.
It tried to escape but to no avail, since its weight was nowhere compared to mine.
When it was less than 5 meters away from me, I folded my right palm and pictured a sword in my hand and swung my wrist at the incoming monster.

Then the bolts of Origin Energy on my body instantly flowed into my folded palm, and a 5-meter tall silver sword materialised in my hand slicing the Sonic bat in half before vanishing into thin air.
To anyone that was watching, it would look like a flash of silver in my palm, but they wouldn't know that my Origin Energy materialised into a sword for just a split second, before dispersing back to its original energy form.
Even though my Origin Energy mastery was low, the 'Momentary Materialisation Technique' allowed me to materialise the Origin Energy into any shape I wanted.
However, its duration was limited to as little as one-hundredth of a second, ten milliseconds. With 200 stats in all five attributes, my true time perception was 20 times more than an average person.
It meant that from my perspective, the Origin Energy would take a solid form for 200 milliseconds but even then, if I wanted to use it to attack, I had to time the Origin Energy materialisation with impeccable precision to land a hit on my target.
If not for the Grade-3 Innate Talent that I looted from a Hobgoblin Archer before rescuing Dante, it wouldn't have been possible to operate with such precision.
As for the cooldown of using the Momentary Materialisation Technique, it was the same as the duration of Origin Energy in solid form, i.e, 10 standard milliseconds.
This would have been troublesome for me if I had to face one who was stronger than me in a head-on clash, but against the monsters in front of me, it's a piece of cake.
The pace at which the monsters approached me didn't lower, even when they saw that the Sonic Bat was sliced in half.
With a leap, I rushed directly into the middle of the horde, ignoring the Low-Phase Tier-3 monsters that almost closed in upon me.
If I wanted, I could directly kill them off, but by doing so, the lower-tiered monsters might retreat and I didn't want to miss this chance to earn more looted stats and skills.
As I landed within the horde of monsters, I had the revolve around me at a high speed within my 10-meter range, and that obstructed monsters outside that said range from jumping at me.

Meanwhile, I used the 'Momentary Materialisation Technique' to continuously materialise a weapon every 10 consecutive milliseconds and swing at the monsters.
Sometimes, the Origin Energy solidified into a sword, other times a spear, chain whip, or any weapon I could imagine depending on the distance between me and the targeted monster.
With the amount of stats I have, my time perception was so high all the monsters looked like they were moving in slow motion. Every swing I took, blood splashed like rain as monsters were hacked apart.
Some weak monsters were even squished under my feet. Sadly, I wasn't able to use Origin Energy into projectile attacks, since it only materialised for ten millisecond or it would have been much easier to eradicate the horde of monsters.
Besides and 'Momentary Materialisation Technique', I don't have any other way to use Origin Energy in actual combat.
Over the past few days, I tried to use Origin Energy like how Sword Aura could be used as a projectile and an extension, but all of my attempts ended in failure.
I even tried to use it to control the elements and weapon aura since Origin Energy was the true originator of every type of energy, but that also yielded no results. I could only conclude that my current 2% mastery was not enough to do such stuff.
However, I discovered that while I was in mode, I would be able to access endless amounts of Origin Energy that was stored in .
Thanks to that, in less than three minutes, the nearly thousand monsters were reduced to less than a hundred.
However, continuously using 'Momentary materialisation technique' left me with less than 100 Stamina.
If I were to continue, I would be physically exhausted before I could kill the remaining monsters. So, I stopped circulating Origin Energy and activated the skill that I looted from the Storm Eagle.

Lv.30 (Rare Grade): Enables the user to condense large amounts of wind into protective barriers on top of the user's body, these barriers could also be converted into the wind form of the user's clones to attack the opponents.
(A/N: As long as the condensed wind layers are on the user's body, they act as Wind Barriers and once those condensed wind layers are shot towards the opponents, they act as Wind Clones.)
Minimum Requirement: Grade-4 Wind Innate Talent & Lv.30 .
Cost: 100 Spirit Energy per creation of 25 Wind Barriers / Wind Clones.
Duration: 10 minutes.
Wind Barrier Effect: Each Wind Barrier increases the User's defence by 10% (stackable).
Wind Clone Effect: Each Wind Clone delivers damage that is equal to the user's physical damage.
________________
Then I used 380 Spirit Energy creating 95 condensed wind layers on top of my body, which was the exact number of monsters left alive.
One by one, the condensed wind layers shot themselves towards each monster once I targeted them.
Since each Wind Clone could unleash the damage output of a punch from me, all of the Tier-2 monsters died on the spot.
The Low-Phase Tier-3 monsters sensed the danger from the wind clones that locked onto them and tried to evade but the end result was the same as the Tier-2 monsters, exploding into smithereens.
If not for the Centauri Kavach's full body armour, I would have been drenched in the blood of monsters from the after effects of the explosions.
Using , I confirmed that there was no monster left alive in a 500 meter radius and activated while looking at their dead bodies, or at least what's left of them.
I was hit by a torrent of notifications as I continued to gain a large amount of looted stats and skills. I personally didn't select any skills from the monsters and let MJ select the ones that would be useful to me.
Even though I wouldn't merge with all of them, I still looted them in case they would be useful to me in the future.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

The Patchwork Realms
Athos is a good dog. He likes frisbee, bacon, and his family (SmolFriend, Mom, and Dad). He's not so keen on falling through an interdimensional portal to a fantasy world where floating boxes tell you that you've just been given status as the 'Supreme Exemplar' of your species, a powerful package of abilities that includes human-level intelligence. Sure, being smart is nice but less so when it comes with the need to survive in a land made from bits of different dimensions stitched together like patches in a quilt. A thousand species, a thousand lands, sorcery and super science rubbing elbows, wars and intrigue everywhere...it's exhausting for a good dog who just wants to go home! Note that this is a work in progress with lots of fiddly numbers so I will occasionally need to go back and fix errors, and this might affect events of earlier chapters. I'll try to keep this to a minimum and will post a note whenever it happens. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
