CHAPTER 125: ‘Master is really cunning!’

A little more than half an hour back, when Qew learned from MJ that Kay and Olivia were going to lunch together at a restaurant, she guessed Jay must have had a hand behind it.

So, she crashed their lunch plan to disrupt Jay's schemes. After all, she plays the 'Prosecutor' role and had to believe that it wouldn't work out between Kay and Olivia.

In order to prevent Jay from creating a private space between Kay and Olivia for a spark to begin between them, Qew went to the restaurant along with Esha, MJ and Dante.

She even made sure to not let Kay and Olivia sit beside each other in the restaurant and sat between them along with MJ and Esha.

At the success of the first step in her 'mission', she cheekily smiled at Jay, who sat at the opposite end of the table to let him know that any of his plans wouldn't work under her presence.

But, seeing that his elder brother was unfazed by her mocking, Qew felt something was off.

Usually, Jay would say something in return whenever she acts smug in front of him but watching his confident look, she felt something was off.

So, Qew immediately activated to see if she could find what Jay was scheming.

Soon, everyone's thoughts within the 500-meter radius flowed into her mind with an exception of Jay, Kay and Olivia.

The sudden influx of information made her feel like she was having a hangover.

It was mostly because Qew doesn't have a mind-related innate talent and also due to her Spirit Attribute being rather low compared to Jay.

She tested this skill a few times in the past couple of days, making her accustomed to the mild headache due to processing a lot of information at once.

Using that, Qew found out about the sneaky waitress and her Journalist boyfriend.

From that, she speculated that Jay must be aiming for the Journalist to take a photo of Kay and Olivia standing together.

For an entertainment channel, who were hungry for celebrity stories, having the recently trending 'Prince Charming' Kay appear along with a woman at a restaurant would fill their plate.

By the time it hits social media, and everyone realises that the woman with Kay was the 'Olivia Morris', the content would become even juicier.

Of course, that commotion would only last at most two days before the announcement of the partnership between F.U.T.U.R.E Inc. and the Nav-Yuga Enterprise and netizens realise that it was all their misunderstanding before ignoring this topic.

But, that will start a little something between Olivia and Kay when they think that the public sees them as a couple.

It wouldn't be much but that just might be the start of something between them and that was what Jay was aiming for.

While Qew was thinking of the implications, Jay's voice prompted in her mind, 'Yes, you have guessed right. That is what I am wishing for to happen.'

Qew then rebutted through the mental link Jay established, 'Hey!! Directly intervening in their matters is a violation of our pact rules.'

Jay lifted his brows and communicated playfully, 'Oh really? Why don't we talk about this in more detail? Was I the one who made that waitress call her Journalist boyfriend?'

Qew helplessly whispered in her mind, 'No...'

'Was I the one who made that Entertainment Journalist to look for Kay as his next celebrity story?'

'Noo...'

'So, little sister, where was this direct intervention you are talking about?'

Hearing Jay's logical words, Qew was at a loss for words.

Since Jay happened to go through Olivia's memories on Day-2, he knew that the qualities of a life partner she was looking for were basically everything that Kay is as a person.

Because of that, Jay strongly believed that she would eventually realise that if she crosses paths with Kay.

If not for that, he wouldn't have tried to act as their matchmaker in the first place.

Meanwhile, MJ heard their conversation due to the mental connection he has with Jay.

'Master is really cunning! I should be like that when I grow up.' MJ thought to himself with determination.

Sensing his thoughts, Jay bitterly questioned himself, 'Eh? Just what am I teaching this kid?'

While this was happening, Sergei and Olivia were silently taking glances at Moro, who sat beside Kay.

Moro's performance in the second assessment seemed to leave a deep impression on them.

Especially Sergei, as someone who's well-versed in close combat after honing himself through several fights, he couldn't help but be intrigued at how tough it was to last 50 seconds against Moro.

As for Olivia, she was even more intrigued about Moro since he was able to easily defeat Sergei, who was a world-renowned Assassin.

Even though she guessed that Jay must have given Moro an Origin Sigil, she still wondered as to how Jay managed to find someone as powerful as Moro.

Olivia and Sergei tried to strike a conversation with Moro but all he did was respond with a nod or by shaking his head. They could only helplessly give up.

'Please don't take it to heart, Moro is a man of few words.' Kay remarked from the side.

After that, Dante asked everyone, "Now that starters are over, shall we go for the main dishes?"

Everyone nodded and he leaned forward and pressed a button on a circular electronic device, which signalled the waiters to bring the food items.

Top restaurants use that method so that the customers could comfortably call for anything they need without having a waiter always breathing down their neck, asking if they want something.

The waiting staff entered the floor and placed the dishes, one by one in order.

Among them was the sneaky waitress, and she happened to serve food to Qew, who continued to look at the waitress as if she wanted to devour her.

That scared the hell out of that waitress but she tried her best to maintain her composure. She didn't know why one of the VIP customers was looking at her like she was their arch enemy.

Once the waitress left that room along with the other waiting staff, she couldn't help but shudder, "Eeeeh! What a scary woman? For a moment, I thought she was aware of what I did. If that is the case, I would have been complained against and most probably been fired by now.

After all, what I did wasn't exactly legal and a famous restaurant like this one does not disclose information of their customers to the media so that they wouldn't be harassed by paparazzi and news outlets. I have to be careful or even stop leaking information to my idiot boyfriend."

Within the private room, everyone was having their meal while chatting with Qew and Dante being the most talkative ones.

Olivia patted MJ's head and asked him with a giggle, "Little guy, could even fit all that chocolate cake in your tiny stomach?"

MJ nodded with a piece of cake still stuffed in his mouth and Qew narrated the times when MJ emptied several packs of ice cream that were three times the quantity of the chocolate cake in a single spree.

Everyone burst into laughter upon hearing that.

After a while, Kay thought of something and asked Jay, "Brother, how will this Trial Region Tournament be conducted?"

Kay's query piqued everyone's interest, especially Olivia, Sergei and Dante.

From what Jay mentioned during the 'Earth's Alpha Chosen Gathering' on Day-6, they only knew that the tournament would be a team-based one.

Besides that, they don't have a clue of what will take place during the 1st tournament.

Seeing that everyone was showing interest, and MJ was busy with his chocolate cake, Jay took it on himself to brief them, "With our Galaxy trial program scoring a pretty high-performance score, there might be changes in the standard tournament evaluation. So, I will only give a general overview.

Basically, there will be three rounds in the Tournament.

The first one will be a mass elimination round and by the end of it, 900 0ut of 1000 participating trial zones will be eliminated from the Tournament.

By the end of the second round's Siege Defence, only 25 trial zones will remain out of 100.

For the final round, there will be partial 'team vs team' battles and the 10 trial zones with the highest results among those 25 would come out as the winners.

The System appoints Tier-4 lifeforms from the vast SuperCluster as Tournament Managers to oversee the Tournaments.

Even though Jay's description of the tournament rounds was vague, they got an idea of what would take place in the tournament.

However, none of them seemed to be worried that Earth's Trial Zone wouldn't make it to the top 10.

After all, the goal Jay set was to have Earth's trial zone come out on top in the entire Trial World.
