CHAPTER 144. Recovering Halbor’s condition.
After that one-sided fight, one among the crowd seemed to remember something before crying out to others around him in shock, "Wait, don't you guys think the appearance characteristics of that Alpha Chosen look similar to those of the Earth Trial Zone Team.
Another one among the crowd reacted, "You mean the Trial Zone Team that was ranked at the very top of Round-1? Now that I think about it, this individual indeed looks similar to them."
From there, the discussions spread like wildfire until the topic of Earth's Trial Zone Team became the centre of attention to everyone in the crowd.
Min-soo put on his hoodie to avoid bringing attention to himself. The one that stood to his right with blue skin and deer-like antlers on her head asked Min-soo as she amazedly stared at the scene of Jay single-handedly defeating the Lycanthropes, "Oh my, is everyone else in the Earth Trial Zone Team as monstrously strong as this guy?"
Min-soo rolled his eyes and thought to himself, 'Trust me, Lady, what you see now was him taking it easy on them.'
Following that thought, an associated memory surfaced in Min-soo's mind, where Jay single-handedly overwhelmed the Storm Eagle after turning into a titan.
Just like every time, he experienced goosebumps upon recollecting that scene.
While Min-soo was shaking his head at their ignorance, the Snakehead humanoid standing on his left answered the blue-skinned female Alpha Chosen, "Isn't that obvious? Didn't you see that Team's evaluation score? It was more than three times higher than the 2nd highest score of Round-1."
That female Alpha Chosen widened her eyes, "Really?! It was that high?! I was busy combing through the final notification board to see if my own Trial Zone Team made it in the Top-100 and didn't pay attention to the top scores."
The Snakehead Alpha Chosen asked her, "Oh? So your Team made it into the Top-100?"
"We did, but barely squeezed ourselves into the Top-100, ranking at 99th position. If our evaluation score were even short by ten points, we wouldn't have qualified for Round-2."

The Snakehead Alpha Chosen nodded in understanding since his Team was ranked 97th in Round-1, "Yeah, tell me about it."
After those two shared their borderline disqualification from Round-1, they turned their attention to Min-soo, who stayed silent with a hood covering his head.
The female Alpha Chosen asked Min-soo about his Trial Zone Team out of curiosity.
Choosing not to stand out, Min-soo answered with a dry cough, "Ahem…..my own team's situation was more or less the same."
The other two nodded their heads gently upon finding another Alpha Chosen in a similar situation as them.
Meanwhile, at the centre of the crowd, Halbor looked at Jay with astonishment since he didn't take more than a minute to resolve what he deemed as a dire situation.
The seemingly powerful Lycanthropes had to run away with their tails tucked between their legs, fearing the unknown Alpha Chosen that saved him.
Although Halbor was relieved for not being enslaved by a strange contract, he still feared if Jay had the same intentions as the Lycanthropes.
His thoughts didn't go unnoticed under Jay's , and he could only sigh at Halbor's anxiety.
Jay didn't plan to treat Halbor the same as the Lycanthropes and just wanted to recruit him.
Throwing a calm gaze at Halbor, Jay's irises emanated a golden glint as he activated and mentally communicated with him, "I have a way to resolve the Frost Permeation. Of course, that won't be free of charge. In exchange for saving your life, I want you to work for me to create more teleportation devices. You don't have to worry; I won't make you do something against your will. Trust me. It is way easier for me to control you rather than to strike a deal with you."
Halbor was agitated when he heard Jay's voice in his mind and doubted that the other party could read his mind.
At the same time, hearing that he could be saved from imminent death, Halbor couldn't help but feel excited, especially when those words came from such a powerful individual as Jay.

Halbor didn't doubt Jay since he could feel an undeniably strong mental power grasping down his consciousness and that the other party most probably needed just a single thought to dictate his life and death.
After a moment of silence, Halbor accepted the deal as he could not think of a better scenario he could find himself in.
Although Jay expected Halbor's decision, he still nodded in satisfaction before announcing aloud to the onlookers while pointing at Halbor, "From this moment onwards, he is under Earth Trial Zone's protection. Anyone that goes after him will be facing us, and when we are done with the troublemakers, the outcome won't be as pleasant as it was with those Lycanthropes."
The crowd surrounding them thought back to a few minutes when the group of Lycanthropes had parts of their bodies missing and felt shivers when Jay described that as 'pleasant'.
Soon after, under everyone's watchful eyes, Jay took out 10 Golden Fruits before passing them to Halbor and signalled to him to eat them all.
However, Halbor was stuck in a daze from having his sights on so many Grade-3 Vitality Fruits at once.
After all, he was willing to exchange his most priced possessions, the teleportation devices, in exchange for a single Grade-3 Vitality Fruit, and when Jay took 10 of them out without even batting an eye, it made Halbor look at Jay in a new light.
Even the noisy crowd dropped dead silent from that sight. They could only reluctantly watch as Halbor began to pop each Grade-3 Vitality Fruit into his mouth like candies.
In front of Halbor's giant stature, those Fruits were at the size of golf balls in his hands.
No one in the crowd dared to snatch the Grade-3 Vitality Fruits from Halbor with Jay watching over him.
Before long, Halbor ate all ten fruits, and Jay had to add in three more of them in order for Halbor to recover from Frost Permeation thoroughly.
Those 13 Grade-3 Vitality Fruits didn't amount to much for Jay but for Halbor, that many were not something he could gather in the next 28 hours, regardless of whatever he does out of desperation.
Halbor knew that he probably would have died the next day if not for Jay. Because of that, he was determined to work hard under Jay and give his best in making as many teleportation devices as possible.
Jay sensed the other party's unbridled admiration that didn't even contain a hint of malice, leaving a positive impression on Halbor.
"Let's head in; I want to know more about the 'Space Platforms' and the raw materials you need to make more of them."
Halbor broke out of his stupor and nodded heavily before inviting Jay into his trial zone team's Rest House.
Jay then turned around to look at Min-soo and signalled to follow behind him with his palm.
The ones that reacted the most were the blue-skinned female Alpha Chosen standing to the left of Min-soo.
She shyly twirled her fingers, "Oh my, is he calling for me? Does he find me attractive and is inviting me over to be his life partner?"
Min-soo's mouth twitched at her farfetched assumption. After all, he was well aware that Jay's signal was meant for him.
Unlike the female Alpha Chosen, the Snakehead Alpha Chosen on Min-soo's right was smart enough to guess whom Jay was pointing at.
He then widened his snake eyes and asked Min-soo, "No way! are you from that Trial Zone?!"
Since his cover was blown, Min-soo didn't hide his face anymore and pulled down his hoodie before rubbing his nose embarrassedly.
He quickly paced himself towards Jay and soon entered Halbor's Rest House, leaving behind the stunned female Alpha Chosen and the Snakehead Alpha Chosen.
It wasn't just them but the others in the crowd as well. After all, no one knew that there was another Earth's Alpha Chosen standing among them.
