《Old Terran Soul》chapter 2: unleashing the pack

Being unable to decide on a plan that vastly increased the odds of succeeding, Eirik decided on that tried and true technique that was being fast, brutal, and putting a quick scare into whoever was on the other side of the door to the communications room. He did not need any deaths if it could be avoided. The Gods knew he was in enough shit already with these bloody lizards. First the piracy bit, then imprisonment, which he had now escaped, he was carrying an unconscious higher caste member, most likely a protegé, and he was planning to summon his crew as a strike force to rescue him and the thrice-cursed hostage that the gods demanded he takes.
"You are going to be nothing but trouble to me and my crew. Why does the Allfather desire you to travel with us?" He muttered while glancing at her limp body.
Shifting her around to carry her with his left arm, and moving the anti-armor weapon to his back on its sling so he could make use of his dominant right arm if needed, he stepped up to the door and clicked the panel that would open the door.
.......
When nothing happened he became momentarily confused before he heard shuffling inside the room and it dawned on him that it must be a form of doorbell.
As the door opened, he shot his arm through the opening and grabbed the creature inside by the throat, hoping that the sound of the hissing door would cover the low gurgles of the obviously panicking Kloxna inside. Pushing the creature into the room, he dropped his hostage on the floor and used the now free arm to hit the panel that closed the door behind him. The sound of the body hitting the floor alerted the two other Kloxna inside who turned around in their seats and froze at the scene in front of them.
"Move away from the consoles immediately, or watch this one die" He growled as he squeezed the throat of the one that had opened the door.
Clawed hands started frantically trying to free themselves from his grip, but another squeeze made them stop as quickly as they started, but not before drawing a gash across the backside of the Terran's hand.
The two Kloxna stepped down from their chairs and moved away after he looked each of them in the eyes and made a suggestive movement with his head.

After herding them into the furthest corner he released his captive with a shove towards them. Wheezing for breath the frightened being fell to the floor and started coughing violently.
Ignoring the 3 in the corner, he quickly moved to the communications array and noticed with satisfaction that neither of them had locked their consoles. he started typing hurriedly. Soon after there was the sound of an outgoing call.
1 ring...
2 rings.
3 rin - "This is the "Void Wolf" of Terra, please identify yourself and kindly explain HOW THE EVERLASTING FUCK YOU ARE CALLING OUR PRIVATE SECURE LINE!!!!!
..Over"
Sighing in relief at the sound of his friend's voice, Eirik started speaking low and quick.
"David, det er kaptajnen. jeg bliver holdt fanget i et Kloxna militær anlæg et eller andet sted på planeten Alphalyn 7. Det er lykkedes mig at bryde fri og låse mig inde i kommunikationsrummet. Jeg skal bruge et rednings hold for 5 minutter siden. Jeg holder denne kanal åben så længe så muligt. brug den til at spore mig. Og David.. Slip Koblet fri. Skifter"
["David, it's the captain. I am being held prisoner in a Kloxna military installation, somewhere on the planet Alphalyn 7. I have managed to break free and lock myself in the communication room. I need a rescue team 5 minutes ago. I'm keeping this channel open as long as possible, use it to track me. And David... Release the Pack. Over"]
"...Modtaget"
["...Received"]
Nodding to himself, Eirik turned back in time to see the 3 captives moving towards his hostage.
"You will not touch her. You will sit back down in your corner and wait for my instructions. Do as I say and I promise that you will make it through this alive and unharmed. Disobey me and suffer the consequences." As he spoke, he quickly moved towards them as they scampered back to the corner.

With a pitiful whine, Trasti sat back down on the cold floor after the statement from the human prisoner. He was worried about his safety, his throat hurt after being grabbed by the door and almost choked to death, and now he couldn't even be warm in his new chair. This was supposed to be a great day and now this. Of course, he was aware they had a dangerous human prisoner in the facility, but he had been there for weeks without a single incident. This was all wrong. Looking at his chair with want in his eyes he could only accept his fate as it was delivered to him.

"You can't be thinking of using the console to call for help, our little 'chat' by the door made sure of that if your reaction is any indication" The rumbling voice of the human sounded, breaking his thoughts. "And I am in the way. So it must be the chair. What's special about it?"
Trasti was silent for a moment, looking for any sort of trap in the question. Failing to find any he meekly said "it's brand new, we finally got heated seats and it gets cold in here" and tapped a claw on the metal floor.
Looking surprised, the human walked over to the chair and inspected it a little further. He muttered something to himself that Trasti could not hear.
"I don't see any wires," the human said, looking directly at Trasti.
Slightly panicking under the direct gaze of a being that could crush him like a bug, Trasti started stuttering and stumbling over his words "I-I-I-It's in-inferna-INTERnal power su-su-supply" And trying to squeeze further into the corner, away from the human.
"relax friend, I mean you no ill intent if it can be avoided. let me prove it" And to Trasti's horror, the human lifted the heavy heated chair, BY ITSELF, and moved it towards him too fast for any kind of comfort. covering his eyes he squealed and prepared for death.
*THUNK*
....
"relax friend, I'm not trying to kill you"
Trasti peaked through his hands ... and saw his seat standing right in front of him. He looked up and with confusion, he could only ask "...what?"
"This might take a few hours, my crew is quick, but not THAT quick. I don't want you to get sick or anything while we wait. what about your friends, would they want their seats as well?" the human was looking over the three of them with a smile on his face.
".. But.. You are a dangerous criminal. The higher caste said so" Trasti finally said as the human started moving the seats over without prompt to do so.
"It's all a big misunderstanding is all. please, take a seat, stay warm this is going to take a while"
Trasti did as prompted, relaxing at the feel of the warm chair. "why would a dangerous criminal think about our well-being like that" He wondered to himself. His fear slowly evaporated as the heat penetrated his body, he started looking at the human and then he remembered the Kloxna the human had brought with him. he looked over at her and immediately recognized the medallion marking the higher caste.
"What have you done to her!!!!!" he exclaimed.
The human just shrugged his shoulders. "Knocked her out, it was her or me. Be thankful I didn't kill her"
The absurdity of a higher caste being killed was enough to stun Trasti for a while.
"...But she is higher caste.." he muttered
"Believe me, I KNOW!!" sneered the human. "curse the fate that dooms me to take her hostage".
Trasti snapped out of his stupor "HOSTAGE?!?!?? a higher caste.... the Kloxna empire will not rest until your head is mounted on her mother's throne. wherever you go Kloxna will seek your life. you might as well kill yourself now and spare yourself the trouble"
Suddenly looking grim, almost haunted, the human uttered a phrase that made no sense to Trasti "...it is not my choice, but it is my burden to bear"
"Well then, who has sentenced you to death human?? who is so careless with your life?"
Turning towards to communications array, the human said nothing for the longest time. Trasti thought he would not get an answer when suddenly the human spoke again, this time with a voice that sounded almost angry ".... my gods are that careless with my life"
__________________________
Close to 3 hours later there was a sudden beeping from the console. the human lifted his head wearily and suddenly snapped to attention. Pressing a button, he spoke with a clear and calm voice. "Talk to me Joe, please bring the good news"
"Goddamn, it's good to hear your voice again captain. I can't tell you how much I missed-"
"Later Joe, Talk to me"
"Right, sorry cap. We are in position and have your location. Pack standing ready."
"Excellent, 2 to extract. And......... Unleash"

A Man and His Greatsword
Michael Adkins is a unique 28-year-old man. Born with above average strength and emerald green eyes, he always wanted to live in a fantasy world. He was very much into fantasy light novels, manga, and anime, especially a certain one that involves a black armored man with a large greatsword. Michael always dreamed of going on an adventure in a fantasy world. On a whim, Michael is summoned by the god of Alorah, one of the fantasy worlds he had always read about! Alorah's God, Eden, gives Michael a choice of three bonuses and a custom class to take with him into Alorah. This is the start of Michael's fantasy adventures. P.S. This is my first novel, I'm writing this since there were little novels I've found with a main character that wields a greatsword. Don't expect anything good. There will be a lot of mistakes, so please help me with that! P.P.S The later chapters will (hopefully) be much less cringy than the early ones. Please give it a shot!
