《The Dragon of Dreams》Chapter 69: A Rough Start

Mid Morning - Late Spring : Kingdom of Kaelallan

"Yes.. I'll lead the way."

As we turned to walk down the hall, people moved out of the way.

Although most of the kids couldn't think straight because of the boy’s screams, a few of them were whispering amongst themselves.

"He isn't in a uniform.. who is he.." It was a question that everyone was asking themselves, but a handful of the students knew the answer.

'He's the dragon killer..'

The nickname dragon killer was something people started calling me after the incident in the plaza.

It's truly ironic how I got the name even when I didn't kill the halfie, and am a dragon myself though.

Once we got a ways down the hallway, knights and teachers arrived.

"Oh you poor child.. knights take him to the clinic.." It was a middle aged human woman that was crouched by the kid’s side. Her face turned pale as if she was sick whenever she looked at his leg. "Do you mind telling me what happened?" Trying her best to not throw up, she managed to get the question out.

"I was just talking to someone, when some kid came up and did this!!" His tears were flowing down his face as he struggled to form the sentence..

-What an ugly crier..- He had one of the most inelegant cry faces I had ever seen. -Makes his face real punchable..-

"Who is that kid you speak of?"

"It was him!!" He pointed his finger at me down the hallway.

-No uniform?!- "Knights, detain that child!"

The few knights brandished their weapons and charged at me down the hall.

Just like during the plaza incident, I welded the knee areas on the armor together making all but one knight fall over.

There was one knight that had a certain look in his eyes so I didn't lock his legs.. -He shouldn't be a knight.-

The knight had a lust filled look in his eyes as he looked at Lucy, it was an indescribably disgusting expression.

"Knights exist to help protect all citizens," I moved forward one step and slammed his head into the ground. *CRUNCH* "Not just bratty nobles."

His face turned into a pool of blood, slowly creating a cobweb of blood in the shattered floor.

The room went quiet, the boy even stopped screaming as he looked at me in horror.

But not everyone was scared, some of the commoners gave gazes of aspiration, some were sickened by the gruesomeness, but a few girls had expressions that stood out.

They each gave me a look as if they wanted to thank me.

"Who dares to kill a knight of Kaelallan?!" A huge demihuman man appeared at the scene.

Light appeared on nobles’ and the teacher’s faces seeing the huge man come down the hallway.

"Hey Lawton. Get the other knights to clean up."

He froze once he saw and heard my voice, his entire demeanor changing, "at your order young lord."

Just before I turned back to follow Lucy, I could tell Lawton was questioning my act so I gave a short answer before he asked. "The knight I killed shouldn't have been a knight, he had eyes worse than a bandits, let alone a knight. The other two are fine."

A look of concern and disgust appeared on his face as he looked at the dead knight, "Thank you for sparing the others. Although they are not my direct subordinates, I will make sure to give them guidance."

After a nod, I turned back to Lucy who had her face shoved into my back, -I guess it was a little much to kill that knight in front of so many kids..-

Although I had wrapped everyone in the room in my aura, there were still quite a few that looked sick. "Sorry if that grossed you out." I set my hand on her head and wrapped her in my aura to distract her mind from the scene.

Color returned to her face with a little bit of blush, "Thank you again.."

"No worries, you can lead the way now." I was wearing a smile since I felt satisfied.

"R..right.."

Once we left the hall, the knight's body had already been cleaned up and people were finally talking again.

The teacher got a knight to carry the kid with the broken leg to the clinic and got up to talk with Lawton.

"Sir Keen, who was that child.."

"You must not have been at the Lord's speech." He got closer and leaned to her ear, "He's the 'dragon killer'."

Her mind was filled with millions of thoughts each making her face pale. -I could've died on that boys whim..-

"I wouldn't worry too much about it, Miss. He is kind to those who are kind to him and far more forgiving than nobles."

Although Lawton helped ease her worry, she was still anxious. -He wasn't in uniform so he isn't a student.. thankfully..-

Although she gave an awful first impression, she assumed we'd never see each other again so the impression wouldn't matter. I wasn't a student after all.

Little did she know, we'd meet very soon.

After walking down several hallways, we finally came to the classroom.

The room was pretty big with lecture hall style desks.

Each table sat 2 people, and there were 15 desks. 3 rows that each had 5 desks.

There wasn't a teacher in the room yet, and only around half of the desks were full.

Lucy, after quickly scanning the room, ended up sitting at the back middle desk.

"Uhm.. I guess you can sit here.." Lucy shyly pointed to the seat next to her after sitting down.

"I'm only going to sit in for a bit so I'll stand unless someone doesn't take that seat."

Luckily she picked the back desk so I could just lean up against the wall behind her, out of the way of the class.

While we waited, I fluffed Ilios some until he fell asleep laying on my feet.

-He's so cute..-

Trying to let him sleep some, I spent my time fiddling around with magic.

Most of the people in the classroom were staring at me, whether it was my aura or them just watching me play with magic, they all had their eyes locked on me.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" A young girl came and asked to sit by Lucy.

Lucy glanced back towards me, "Yeah, of course. My name is Lucy."

"Viviana. Nice to meet you." She wore a childish and youthful smile.

"So is today your first day too?"

"Yeah, I just turned 9 a few weeks ago.. I barely managed to make the cutoff."

As the conversation continued, they each steadily spoke more comfortably, even managing to become friends in a matter of minutes.

-She truly has royal blood.. she's great with people..-

"Sorry I'm late class I ran into a.. complication."

The middle aged woman came in and set down her books on the desk.

"Nice to meet you everyone, I will be your teacher for the next few years. My name is.."

Before she could finish introducing herself, she met eyes with me and froze.

She stared at me, wide eyed, but my eyes were those of indifference, -Oh its her again.-
