Early Evening - Late Spring : Kingdom of Kaelallan

As the day progressed, more people came to the Library, but the library was still quiet.

"Uhm.. sir?"

A young female voice brought the librarian out of his daydream.

"Ah sorry Miss, what can I do for you."

"I was wondering if someone named Vasilias was still here.." -He told me he'd be here but it's been several hours..-

"Ah yes, he is. He is on the upper floors though, would you like me to get him for you?"

"Ah no.. if he is busy I shouldn't bother him.."

"It's alright, I'm done for today anyways."

I came walking up from behind the desk. I decided it would be best if I just called it a day after so much reading, plus I was getting a little hungry.

I hadn't eaten any real food since I arrived in Kaelallan and, although dragons could go for several months without food, I wanted to eat something real. -Maybe I should go try to find a field bison..-

Lucy started to panic seeing my timely appearance, "Are you sure? I don't want to pull you away from whatever you're doing."

"It's fine, I should escort you and your new friend here."

Viviana gave a smile as I addressed her.

"So is she coming home with you?"

"Y..yes, we got permission from her parents to stay with us tonight."

A warm smile came to my face, "It's good to see you making friends." -I should really introduce her and Krystallo.. I feel like they'd get along..-

Lucy replied shyly, "Well, let's head back."

"Alright, lead the way." Before I left, I turned to the Librarian, "I'll be back tomorrow Mr. Librarian."

In Front of me, Lucy and Viviana were whispering about something I didn't bother eavesdropping on.

"You didn't tell me he was your escort."

"Well he isnt.. he is my fathers friend's son.. he just made some deals with my father so.."

"Wait.. so.. nevermind.." She was confused about something, but I didn't know what.

Once outside, we started heading to the noble gate.

"Wait this is the noble gate, I think you went the wrong way."

I jolted a little hearing Viviana, -wait what?-

"No this is the right way?"

"You're a noble?!" Viviana was staring at Lucy with wide eyes.

"What made you think she was a commoner?"

"Well.." she started getting nervous, treading lightly as to make sure to not offend Lucy or I.

"You can speak clearly, we won't judge." Lucy gave her some reassurance.

"Well.. your bow is tied wrong.. and um.. your hair.. is um.. a little messy.."

I tried my best to hold back my laugh but I couldn't help but leak it a little. "Ha.. so uh.. how does that make you think she's a commoner?"

"Uhm.. usually nobles have maids dress them so.. everything is perfect... No offence to the maid who dressed you though.." Viviana started getting nervous that Lucy was going to lash out at a maid.

"I dressed myself this morning.. I figured I could do it.."

-Oh don't get all distraught.- Lucy started taking Vivianas criticism too personally. "Well now you know what you can do better, right?" -I might've been the one to accidentally mess up her hair though..-

"Right.. well anyways, lets go ahead and get in the carriage.."

The carriage that picked us up was a more low profile one compared to this morning. There was no gold, and no Royal crest on it.

The entire carriage ride was silent, no one talked until Viviana finally broke the ice. "So um.. if it's not rude of me to ask, what's your last name?"

"Ah about that." I felt the carriage come to a stop right as she finished asking her question.

Ilios and I were the first to step out, followed by Lucy.

Turning back around, I saw Viviana still sitting in the carriage.

"You coming?"

Snapping out of her trance, she shakily got up and out of the carriage, "Y..yeah sorry.. Just.. I feel like I need to ask again.. what is your last name?"

"Kaelallan. My name is Lucy Kaelallan."

Viviana's face paled as she lost balance and fell backwards.

I quickly got behind her and caught her before she hit the ground, -she really fainted..- I looked up to see Lucy in a little bit of a panic. "She's fine. She just passed out."

"B..but!"

"No buts, let's just go inside and let her rest."

Lucy acted like she was going to say something else, but stopped herself.

After carrying her inside and getting some interesting looks from the maids, we ran into Martha.

"Oh my! What happened?!"

"I made a friend so I brought her by to spend the night, b..but when we got here she fainted!"

Martha was still confused so I clarified, "Lucy didn't even say she was a noble until we left, and Viviana is a commoner, so."

She quickly calmed down realizing the situation wasn't serious, "It's great that you made a friend, but you need to give them some warning and ease them into it Lucy... Well let me have her, I'll bring her to a room and tend to her until she wakes up."

I carefully handed over Viviana's body.

"What's her name?"

"Viviana, what's her last name?" I turned back to Lucy.

"Zidek I think.."

"Okay well, dinner will be ready soon so be ready soon. Young Lord, if you'd like to join them, the Lord said you should join."

"Ah.." Although the food I wanted was something far more substantial than a humanoid meal, I figured it wasn't a bad idea to eat with them, "I guess I will. Have them bring out some larger portions."

Hearing me agree, Lucy's eyes lit up.

"I will do my best to notify the chef, young Lord. I will be busy tending to Miss Viviana here so please have a good night."

"You too."

And with that, Martha left down the hall, and I followed Lucy to the dining room.

-

Around 18,000 km west south-west, in the Kingdom of Deacia, the tower began to make a move.

In a familiar office, a noble man was standing, looking out his window.

"Sir, your orders are.."

"I don't think you have the right to question my orders."

"Y..yes sir.. I will carry it out to the best of my abilities."

The noble gave a snarl to the black robed man, "If it's not done, you're dead."

Giving a strong nod the robed man disappeared.

The noble looked back out his window. The sun started to set, giving the sky an orange glow.

-Just how much are those greedy dragon bastards going to ask for..-

As he sipped his tea, he gave a disgusted look.

"I can't even enjoy my tea any more because of them.. soon enough though, I will show them the might of humans!"

His plan was nearly complete, he just needed to clean some unnecessary variables and butter up the halfies one last time.

-They think they can just use me so freely? I'll show them..-

*Shatter*

He crushed his glass in his hand, accidentally spilling tea on his new shoes.

"Oh.. dammit.. I liked these shoes too.."
