《The Dragon of Dreams》Chapter 82: Fatal Emotions

Late Evening - Late Spring : Kingdom of Zan
After splitting up with Katherine, I met back up with Ilios.
"Sorry I took so long.." I reached down a pet him some before moving on towards the gate.
As I got closer to the commotion, I felt several strong auras.
One of the auras in particular was extremely strong, even being a little stronger than fathers, but something about it felt.. off.
Springing up onto a rooftop, I looked down over the street and saw a group of 12 people riding on what looked like really bulky horses.
Most of them were fairly strong, but 3 in particular stood out. -Three halfies..-
Of those 3, 1 was extremely strong, even stronger than father at least when it came to aura.
-How old does a halfie need to be to have a true form with that kind of aura..-
Although it was a little worrying seeing just how strong my opponents were going to be, I was incredibly excited.
Noticing me on the rooftop, the strongest, a male bear demihuman halfie by the looks of it, looked over at me.
He looked over Ilios and I before casually averting his eyes.
-Did he seriously not feel my aura?- I could feel him trying to probe me with his aura but he failed because my aura was too thick.
-Can halfies not see through a dragon's identity?- I as a dragon knew what was a dragon or halfie no matter what form they are in, but halfies are different.-Ah right.. I guess Maria couldn't see through it either..-
The group of 12 were all waving their hands towards the crowds as they left through the city gate.
Once well outside of the city, they pulled the reins on the horses and sped up immensely.

-Oh lord those are quite fast..- Although nowhere near as fast as me, these 'horses' were easily faster than a car from earth.
Deciding I would catch them off guard while they were in the middle of nowhere, I trailed them for a couple hours until it was completely sundown.
I was originally going to ambush them whenever they stopped, but they just kept going.
-I guess it's now or never..-
Being sure to stay out of their detection range, I ran up in front of them and got ready.
-Alright, you first..- The one at the back of the caravan, a young female elf mage, was going to be my first victim.
Taking my greatsword off my back I got ready.
As they got closer, I flexed my leg, and *BANG*
Completely obliterating the ground, I flew towards the woman.
*Shing*
Without her realizing anything wrong, her head flew off her body.
The others quickly noticed something was wrong when they heard the ground shatter.
"We are under attack!"
Quickly turning around I gave a strong slash through both a second man and his horse.
The others all stopped their horses and got off.
"Get him, just leave him barely alive." The strongest halfie in the group, the leader, gave orders to leave me alive.
-I kill two of your allies and you want me to stay alive? You'll regret that.-
Deciding it would be boring to keep attacking and dashing, I revealed myself just down the road.
"You guys are weaker than expected, especially you in the back." I pointed at the leader.
I had my hood down so they could see my face, -they'll all die anyways so it doesn't matter.- With the first two kills being so easy, I was getting confident.
The leader started grinding his teeth as I taunted him, but the first to speak up was a tall blond haired man with a golden lance. "You dare be so confident to show yourself?"

The pretentiousness in his voice was mind blowing. "So come hit me then." I mounted my sword on my shoulder and relaxed.
"Hmph!"
He lunged at me, trying to drive his lance through my chest but, *Clang* *Shing* I casually changed the direction of his lance and sliced him in half.
"Next!" Two mages and a melee fighter down. Although the fight was fairly underwhelming so far, I was excited because the strongest ones were all left alive.
"Trio go deal with him."
The three youngest ones of the group started walking forward. A female mage and archer, and a male swordsman.
-Oh come on, this dude is definitely in a relationship with them..-
The trio silently walked towards me, the swordsman drawing his blade, the archer readying an arrow and the mage getting ready for a spell.
"Come on, you're already taking so long it's boring."
*Fwip*
An arrow flew through the air towards my head which I casually caught.
"Wow, these arrows are quite heavy." I looked up at the young archer, "You're quite strong huh?" I gave her an excited smile.
While I looked at her, I put some of my aura on her, but only enough to catch her in a trance.
After seeing his girl staring at me like that, the swordsman got mad. "Don't you dare look at her like that!" He charged forward.
*Clank* *Clang* *Clank* *Fwip*
We had a short but extremely fast exchange with both the archer girl and the mage trying to catch me off guard.
-They're just so slow..- "You shouldn't let your emotions get a hold of you man. How did you even get to nation rank? You've got the emotional stability of a toddler."
The young mage girl couldn't hold back her anger and fired off a fairly strong explosion spell at me.
*Boom*
"Ah so you're standing up for your man huh."
I used wind magic to casually brush aside the explosion.
"You mages are really weak huh.."
"Quit talking sh-" The swordsman charged at me again.
I saw the archer girl fire another arrow to divide my attention, but I just grabbed the swordsman's head and moved it in front of the arrow.
*Crack*
The arrow swiftly flew through the man's head as I had to catch the blooded arrow on the exit.
Looking up, the girls faces were completely pale, -was I too cruel? Well I'll make it quick..-
I dropped the body of the man and threw the arrow back at the archer.
*Crack* She was too stunned to dodge.
"Alright mage girl, I feel a tiny bit of pity for your little group so I'll kill you quickly."
With tears running down her face, her mana began to surge. "EVEN IF I DIE.. I'LL BRING YOU WITH ME!"
She was pulling out her trump card, "Did you really think I was going to let you do that?" I appeared in front of her and gave her a heavy punch to the face.
*CRACK* *BOOM*
The punch that exceeded the sound barrier simply made her head disappear.
-Half down..- "Are you all really just going to stand there? Come on! If you all just do nothing you'll lose!" Half of those that were left were halfies too, -I wonder how long until they reveal their dragon forms..-
