《The Dragon of Dreams》Chapter 88: A Glaring Opportunity

Early Afternoon - Late Spring : Kingdom of Kaelallan
I reached for the doorknob.
*BOOM*
Shrapnel from the door blasted past me as I didn't even bother dodging.
-Excuse me?-
I just stood there, frozen, still holding the doorknob of the now non-existent door.
"Stay back your grace! I'll kill this foul monst-"
*Wham*
Seeing that the elf woman was going to attack me again, I used wind magic to throw her into the wall of the office.
"Who is she?"
Helen was standing behind her desk, frozen looking at the scene. "V..Vasilias?!"
"Who else would it be.." I walked over to the edge of the room and pulled the petite elf woman out of the wall. "So who is this?"
"Ah.. she's the grandmaster of the academy. The strongest mage in Kaelallan.."
"Haha, very funny.." -To think shed joke with such a serious expression.-
"..." Helen looked at me confused.
"You're joking right?" The elf girl looked like she was younger than me. There wasn't even a spec of maturity on her body either.
"She's actually 110.. despite her looks.."
"Excuse me?!" -Its a loli grandma.. to think I just threw an elderly woman into a thick stone wall..- I did feel a tad bad, but at the same time, she was the one to both attack first, and call me a monster in a rude manner. -Rude..-
"Haah.. that aside.." She glanced at the damage around the room and decided to change subjects. "What happened to you... You're.. older.."
"It's complicated so I'll just leave it at this.. I ate the core in the vault.. which put me in a dragon sleep and that's why I changed so much."
Helens face was covered in confusion. "Haah.. well.. that aside.. What happened to those nation ranks?"
"Oh they're all dead." I put on a proud smile. "I would have brought back some of their items but uh.. there weren't any left so, my bad."

Deciding not to question it, she shook her head. "So where's your father?" As she asked, she dropped her face into her hands.
"Ah right, we got some evidence for something.. important for dragons. Long story short if all goes well, the tower will cease to exist soon."
"..O..okay.." Helens face was one of surprise but she was already deep in her own thoughts
Finishing what I needed to say, I turned back towards the door. "Well I'm tired so I'm gonna take a nap. If there is some kind of emergency, ask Ilios to wake me up."
Giving a light wave as I left down the hall, I used my aura again to see if there was anything that needed my attention.
There wasn't anything new that I didn't notice before, but Oliver was laying in bed grasping his head. -Is he hurt?-
Figuring it wouldn't hurt to check it out, once I got outside his bedroom, I used my aura to scan his body.
-!- His body was fine, there were no major injuries anywhere below the neck, but when I looked at his head, there was a glaring problem.
He had some fairly major bleeding and swelling in the front of his brain.
-Won’t that kill him?!- In a panic, I slam open the door and rush to the side of his bed. -How the hell am I going to do this..-
I had literally no actual medical knowledge or practice outside of tv shows or going to the doctor myself on earth, so I simply had to find the problem and fix it. "Hooh.." -I've got magic.. I got this.. I'm sure I can find a solution-
Reaching over to him, I set my hand on his forehead. -Okay first things first..-
A more detailed look at the injured area showed a small amount of swelling and internal bleeding.
-Let's do something about the bleeding first..- Using mana, I slowly started to control the blood in that portion of his brain to make it flow properly through the arteries as it should. I recreated some small passageways through the bleeding areas that would still allow blood to reach everywhere as if there wasn't an injury in the first place.

All I did was make it seem uniform and consistent with the blood flow of the rest of the brain. -I hope that works..- Next was the swelling but.. there isn't a whole lot I can do about that..- No matter how hard I thought about it, I could remember anything that could reduce swelling besides medication or letting it naturally go away.
After thinking as hard as I could back to my life on earth I remembered something that would work, but it was extremely risky.
-I can shatter the front of his skull to give it room to swell..- It was a mind blowingly risky play, but I didn't have a choice.
Simply put, his brain had already swelled too much and if nothing was done some serious permanent damage could happen.
-Welp.. here goes nothing..-
Using mana, I lightly yet cleanly cracked the front of his skull to give his brain room to swell.
I shattered the front of his skull into around 10 larger pieces to let the area swell but it was clean enough to where once the swelling went down, I could very easily fit it all back perfectly together.
After watching it for a moment to make sure it was working, I slowly pulled away my mana. I had held the blood flow channels long enough for his body to heal the source of the internal bleeding. -To think humans can heal this fast in this world..-
Breaking focus after carefully drawing out my mana, I was out of breath and in a cold sweat.
"Phew.." Being sure to keep a close eye on his condition, I noticed everything seemed to be alright so far. -How in the world did surgeons on earth do surgery like that for hours..-
Although what I was doing was far beyond the mental capabilities of a human, it still gave me a sense of awe that humans can work with the stress of someone's life being on the line for so long.
-I guess itd be stupid to just leave him here now..- I decided it was best if I put off my nap for a few hours to watch his condition, -itd be my fault if he died now..-
Little did I know, it was my fault prior as well.
- Helen Kaelallan ~
"Haah.." I was sitting there, at my desk, looking at a fainted nation rank and a completely destroyed office.
Vasilias had just left my office after dropping several bombshells.
-So the nation ranks are all dead.. and the dragons are going to wipe out the tower... What do I even do now..-
I was having an internal dilemma about how to proceed with the situation.
-If the tower gets destroyed by the dragons, then the war will be stopped before it starts.. but at the same time, now would be a perfect opportunity to gain more territory..-
12 Nation ranks dying without a trace left an absolutely massive opportunity to grow Kaelallan by swallowing several nearby nations, but at the same time, it would start a war.
But -is the risk worth it..-
The nations that were open to take over were all those of the tower's new alliance, so -if the dragons destroy the tower and the alliance crumbles, won't they just be free food?-
A greedy smile crept onto my face the more I thought about it.
