Lucia's Point of View
Helmsforth Temple
As I rubbed my eyes, there was a knock on my door. “Enter.”
Greigh peeked in quickly. “The Vithari Queen is here to see you, Lady Lucia.”
“Please show her in.” Adjusting myself more properly, the Captain entered with the Queen. “It is good to see you are well, Queen Ventari. Many of us were worried about you.” I said as I stood and gave a small bow as a formal gesture.
She returned the bow, just as slightly, and replied. “Thanks to the care of you and all of Lestrania. Although, if the rumors are correct, there is another I need to thank as well.”
“I am sure there will be time for you two to meet soon.” The Queen had been quite insistent on meeting Arthur. “Given that he is still injured, you must understand he needs time to recover.” Especially after she heard he was the one who defeated the Leviathan.
“Understandable. It must’ve been quite the battle for him to be so grievously injured. One that had to be comparable to the Leviathan that destroyed my airships.” She pointed out.
“I could not say. While I was there for the initial appearance of the Leviathan, I only have reports to go on about the latest situation.”
“And yet, you are the one seated upon the throne.” Ventari commented. “Neither of the Priestesses have come to see me either. Decorum would expect at least that much.”
“You can imagine how busy they must be after such an attack. Demons appear in our capital is unheard of.”
She glanced around the room for a moment before she steepled her fingers in her front. “Not that unheard of from my reports. Word is that Lestrania has become a rather unique spot for Demonic sightings.”

Greigh cleared his throat, and I nodded for him to speak. “Demon sightings have always been rare, but our Knight has a particular disdain for them. He often goes out of his way to hunt them down. Sir Arthur Pendragon has even gone into the Hollow Forest to hunt them time and time again.” He stated.
“Do not mistake these Elven robes I currently wear to be a sign of my compliance, Lady Lucia. Dwarves may not be as well versed in magic, but don’t insult my intelligence.” She informed me in a firmer tone. “My injuries have healed, I’m well-rested, and I would like some answers. As is my right given that I am an ally.”
“It is your right, but I am not the one to make such decisions.” I replied evenly.
“Then point me to someone who is.”
Another knock came from the door before it burst open. “Lady Lucia! Sir Arthur Pendragon is awake!”
Closing my eyes, annoyed, I responded. “Thank you for informing me. Have the healers look at him and tell the doctors I expect a full report on how he is doing.” The guard closed his mouth for a moment. “Is something wrong with the General?”
“Well, he is still injured, but he’s refusing to let any of the healers close to him. The same with the doctors. He’s also decided to put in a bath of sorts that’s tucked away in the back of the Temple by the mountain’s wall.” The guard reported.
“Is that all?” I asked, praying and hoping, that it was.
“He asked that he not be disturbed as he is currently training his student Lord Delmaris.” He quickly added.
Greigh groaned as I glared at the floor in thought. “Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will be going to disturb him immediately.” Turning to the Zugal Captain, I spoke. “Accompany me.” Then my attention shifted back to the Dwarven Queen. “I must apologize-“

Interrupting me, she quickly fell in beside me. “There is no need. I will also accompany you.
“Seeing as how our Knight is injured-“
Again, she interrupted me. “I’m afraid I’m going to have to insist. You told me you couldn’t answer my questions. Maybe your Knight will.”
Greigh moved to say something, but I held up my hand. “Very well, but you should be warned, Sir Arthur is not quite what most people imagine.”
“He’s eccentric?” Ventari offered.
Starting to walk as I rolled my head off to the side slowly, I gave a small nod. “That… That is a word. A very specific word. One that seems to fall short in how I would describe him.”
Gesturing to Greigh to help me, he sighed. “The General is very blunt and disrespectful at the best of times. If he insults you, please know that he does it to everyone.”
I pursed my lips at that and turned away from Ventari’s curious gaze. “Well, he sounds a bit like most dwarves.”
Greigh scoffed. “I’ve dealt with a few dwarves, your grace, but even they couldn’t prepare me for working under Sir Arthur.”
We walked the halls as the guard guided us to Arthur’s location. “Oh. You directly work for him?”
The small talk continued until we started to hear some shouting that made me groan when Arthur’s voice cut in. “Kick! Kick like your life depends on it! Kick like you’re kicking a puppy or a baby!”

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw
