Zane barely paid attention to the system message. One reason was because he was excited about having one hundred percent protection from tier one attacks. He could imagine himself charging through hordes of beast during the Upheaval unafraid of any attacks that came his way.

Another reason why Zane was late acknowledging the system message was his bloodline. His bloodline had become active, and Zane could sense that it was currently going through some changes. He tried to sense what was happening but after a minute Zane gave up. After looking at the system message Zane pulled up his status

Zane took a few second to take in all the changes that came from his upgrade. He would need to set aside some time to study and explore a few of the changes from his upgrade, but most of the changes did not go against his expectations. After taking a long look at his status, Zane only had one question.

Why is my luck at zero? Zane asked himself. Normally people only achieve a value of ten in their source stats. I was able to exceed that value in three of my source stats, but I didn’t come close to that value in my luck stat. Something has to be wrong. Even if my luck is low, it shouldn’t be at zero. Maybe I don’t understand the luck source stat as well as I thought I did. I should look at its description and the description of the other three source stats.

Aura: A combination of all of the physical attributes.

Spirit: A combination of all of the mental attributes.

Comprehension: Increases the ability to learn and understand complex information.

Luck: A high luck value increases the chances of good things happening. A low luck value increases the chances of bad things happening.

The description of the four source stats didn’t surprise Zane. After all it was information, he had already learned. However, looking at the description for the four source stats didn’t provide him with any help in understanding why his luck stat was at zero. Shaking his head Zane decided to not worry about it for now. Instead, he would place his attention on the rest of his system messages.

Description: An expert skilled in the usage of martial art and martial weapons. This class requires an individual to study, explore, and improve their understanding of martial arts and martial weapons. The more they understand the stronger they become.

It was obvious to see that the Martial Weapon Expert class was stronger than the Weapon Expert class. Although it was stronger, Zane could also see some ways that it was weaker. Zane would not benefit from using or studying magical weapons. However, Zane wasn’t worried because he already had a specific plan in mind when it came to magical weapons.

Being awarded the Class Creator Ⅰ title felt weird to Zane. He didn’t actually create a class. The only thing he did was fulfill certain requirements necessary for the system to create a new class for him. However, Zane had no intention of complaining to the system. He would gladly accept the title and whatever hidden reward it would bring.

Perfect Upgrade Ⅰ was a title that Zane had expected to obtain, and he was happy that he was able to obtain a one hundred percent increase in his daily experience. There were titles available for source fields at the flawless quality and below. However, those titles did not reward extra experience points. The flawless upgrade title would at most reward one thousand experience points. The lower quality source fields would reward a lot less.

Quality also affected the rewards from the Perfect Tier One Expert title. Lower quality source fields received less stats and higher quality source field received more stats. The boost from the title was noticeable, but it wasn’t difficult for Zane to quickly adjust to the increase in strength. Zane thought about his two new titles for a few second before focusing on the rest of his system messages.

Stunned, Zane simply stared at the message for a few seconds. He heard of the divine spirits offering blessings, but he never heard of the system giving a blessing. Once Zane got over his shock, excitement started to take over. This blessing was exactly what he needed to fix his luck stat. Even if it didn’t it was still a huge accomplishment to have a blessing from the system.

With a large smile on his face, Zane took another look at his source stats. When he saw that his luck only increased by one point, all the excitement he felt vanished. How could a legendary level blessing only improve his luck by one point? Was the system mocking Zane?

Frustration and annoyance began to take hold of Zane’s mind. Although Zane knew it was a great honor to be blessed by the system, seeing the small increase in his luck was very dissatisfying. Suppressing his negative emotions Zane continued to look at his system messages.

Excitement to disappointment to excitement once again. The System Blessed title helped wipe away most of the negative emotions Zane felt after seeing his luck boosted by one point. He was still upset that the system didn’t boost his luck to a higher level, but he felt much more forgiving after seeing the large increase in his stats.

In fact, the increase in stats was so great that Zane was no longer able to keep still. Zane started to throw punches and kicks as he moved around the multicolored circle. After a few minutes Zane calmed down as he felt himself become adjusted to the large increase in strength. Once Zane settled down, he thought it was time for him to move on and the system agreed with him.

Suddenly, the Martial Weapon Expert version of Zane appeared in front of him. When Zane’s double appeared Zane knew it was time to finish what he considered the final part of his upgrade. After taking a deep breath he spoke to the other version of himself.

“I would like to take my class trial.”

Zane spoke confidently and clearly. His mind was steady, and his body was in its best state. Zane was confident that he would be able to pass the trial. This would be another step on Zane’s path. He would beat all the former class holders and prove he had the ability to become the strongest weapon master.

“What are you talking about?” The Martial Weapon Expert version of Zane asked.

“T-the trial. The one for my class.”

“Maybe you should explain to me what you think the class trial is.”

“The class trial is a chance to earn extra rewards during the class upgrade.” Zane spoke after taking a deep breath. “I’m supposed to fight the previous holders of this class and defeat them. The reward I receive depends on the number of previous class holders I can defeat.”

Zane’s double started to nod. “Makes sense. Can you tell me who held this class before you did?”

Zane opened his mouth to speak and let it hang open as he realized that he was the first holder of his class. There were no previous class holders before him. Zane quickly shut his mouth and did his best to not look embarrassed. He simply stood there in silence while his double stare at him. Zane was grateful that his current double didn’t ridicule him like some of the others had done.

“I was too focused on proving my strength that I wasn’t able to see the obvious,” Zane said.

“It’s understandable. You’re still adjusting to the many changes you’ve experience during your upgrade. Although you feel like you have control now, don’t be surprised if you find yourself making mistakes.” Zane’s double raised its hand before Zane could speak. “You don’t know a way to prepare for these mistakes, so I don’t either.”

Zane nodded in acceptance. “Since I’m the first to have my class, can I get a reward without taking the trial?”

“No. The system does consider you as the number one class holder. However, it will not give you any rewards for being number one. Although creating your own class has many advantages there are also many disadvantages. What I recently mentioned is one of the disadvantages.”

The Martial Weapon Expert version of Zane cracked a smirk on what had so far been a neutral face. “Although it isn’t a disadvantage, I’m sure the next piece of information will annoy you. The next person that takes this class will have to fight you. Whether they win or lose that person will be able to receive the best reward.”

Zane’s double was right. Zane did find it annoying. It was a little frustrating to hear that someone would walk in and benefit from his effort without doing any work. Zane only let himself feel frustrated for a few seconds before he calmed down.

“The only thing that’s left should be learning a new skill.”

“Correct.” Zane’s double was back to a neutral expression. “Normally the system would randomly select one of the skills you learned in your previous class and upgrade it for your new class. However, you are a class creator. That means you are able to choose two skills from your previous class and the system will upgrade. This is one of the advantages of creating your own class. I suggest you take your time and choose wisely.”
