《The Bartender at the End of the Universe》Ch 150: Embracing the Cold

"A good, succulent, roast boar," Trizel groaned. "If I could change one thing, I'd have one more of those all to myself."
Trizel was leaning in a corner. Blood oozed from roughly bound wounds all over his body. He was more bandage than man at the moment. Even though those bandages were made out of torn bits of his own clothes.
He was in an isolated room that was barely more than a walk in closet. There was an unnerving squelching noise coming from outside of the room.
But there, inside the small space, Trizel looked more disappointed than anything else. He had a small frown on his face as his eyes focused on the opening. But nothing arrived.
Trizel's legs started to shake slightly as he struggled to stay standing.
"Truly, a journey for the ages," he groaned as he slowly slid down against the two walls. "Shame I must end it so soon..."
Still, nothing passed through the doorway. He was alone, and the world seemed determined to leave him that way.
His eyes started to waver as he struggled to keep them open. As his butt his the ground he let out a quiet groan.
Slowly, his head started to slump forward. "Heh, a slow, quiet end alone...how lacking in glory..."
As his chin touched his chest, his eyes closed the rest of the way. A slow breath flew from his lips as his bleeding started to slow.
With his eyes off of it, the doorway started to close. It was almost as if the walls themselves were sealing him in. As the one entrance got smaller and smaller, a chill began to grow in the air.
It came on so fast, frost spread across Trizel's still body as he sat there in silence. When the doorway had disappeared completely, his entire body had been frozen solid.

CRASH!
The hollow king remained in his same spot, even as Abraham's body crashed through the already damaged wall next to him.
Abraham's arms were broken and bloody, but with just a slight stretch, they seemed to already be completely healed. In a snap he stood up and cracked his neck from one side to the other.
"Don't you tire of this constant struggle?" Azrail sighed.
Abraham didn't answer. Instead, he started to throw debris at Azrail. The frail man easily seemed to dodge each of the impromptu weapons.
Then, Abraham's eyes glanced down at the nearby sword. He grinned as he reached down and grabbed the hilt. As soon as his hand wrapped around the sword, the hollow king's head twitched.
Abraham yanked, but to his surprise, the sword remained firmly on the ground. He pulled again, but to no avail. Abraham scowled as he wrapped both hands around the swords hilt, and planted his feet on either side. He groaned as he pulled with all his might, but it still wouldn't budge.
Then, the sword started to lift, and he smiled. But his cheer quickly turned into confusion, as he saw that the emaciated corpse was right next to him. His eyes moved down, and ge saw that the hollow king's left hand was holding up the blade.
There was the sound of the hollow king's teeth chattering for a brief moment before his spectral body spread out and glared at Abraham.
The grimy warrior reluctantly let go of the blade to get some distance between them. "Well well, I thought you were just another corpse."
The hollow king gave no answer as the sword crashed back into the ground. Splintered wood erupted from the ground as he seemed to have broken through the hatch into the basement. He stood still as the grave while his face pointed straight at Abraham. Them, the eyes over his right arm all flung open and pulsed as they darted around.

"How interesting," Azrail mused. "There's some spirit left after all."
"Maybe try being more like this guy here," Abraham scoffed. "Quiet and ready to fight."
Abraham grinned as he cracked his knuckles aggressively. He looked the hollow king up and down, and shook his head. "Seems it's time for some real fun."
