"Now, pretty much any kind of fruit would work for this. You see..."
Ted's uncle continued on. For his part, Ted couldn't believe it. After the last fee days he just moved on. It was almost like to him, nothing had happened. He just went right back to working on more alcohol.
"Of course you want to take the fruit out before fermentation, or it'll rot and spoil the whole batch...probably." His uncle said with a dry chuckle.
Ted couldn't keep it in. It was so confounding, he just had to know.
"How...how can you just act like everything is fine?" Ted asked.
His uncle raised an eyebrow as he looked at him. "Huh? Of course everything isn't fine. But we've gotta keep moving forward." He paused a moment as he turned around completely to look right at Ted. "I mean, if you want to talk about it some more, I'll happily put all this stuff aside for that."
He let out another chuckle. "I mean, nothing we've got planned is anywhere near as important as you are nephew. So go ahead and tell me what's really bugging you."
"Well,, a lot of heavy stuff just happened. But you're just acting like you always do." Ted said.
"Oh? And how should I be acting?"
"I mean..." Ted was taken aback. He wasn't exactly sure, but it just felt weird to him. It was a huge event in Ted's mind, but his uncle seemed fine to carry on. Was his skill at recovering from these battles really that good?
His uncle turned around and pulled the pot off of the fire pit. He set it on the dirt and smiled.
"Well, why don't we take a break for now. We can go for a walk, and talk...or just enjoy the scenery. Either's fine with me." his uncle said as he wiped his hands off on his jeans.
His uncle motioned with his head as he started to walk away. "Come on then. No point in keeping nature waiting, right?"
