Nugget lifted up her foot as she flew into a tiny spider robot. She had been going so fast that it had no time to shoot out its mouth at her. She crashed into it like a train and all her momentum seemed to transfer directly to the robot. As she stopped completely, and the spider went crashing back into the swarm of its brethren.
Nugget landed gracefully, and she looked around her. She had quickly become surrounded. The machines arced electricity from their small mouths menacingly as they slowly closed in.
Nugget glanced up from the enemies nearby and looked into the distance at the giant monstrosity that hadn't followed her. As she stared at the giant machine, she nodded sagely.
Then, the first wave attacked. They didn't come at her one at a time, but instead leaped in in several layers. Each one seemed to be covering the side or the back of another one. All of them working as a seamless unit.
Nugget's attention was brought back, and she shook her head. "Bawk? Ba-kaw." she said condescendingly.
Like a bolt of lightning, she flew into action, but so did the machines. As one shot out its mouth taser, she dodged to the side, but another one was already attacking the space she was heading into.
Without changing course, Nugget lifted her foot, and hooked the leg of the nearest spider bot. With a quick jerk, she pulled the machine into the way of the taser while pushing herself back to the other side.
ZAP!
The poor robot was fried to a crisp by the attack from its ally. But they simply stepped over his corpse as they continued to press the attack on Nugget.
Like a ballet dancer, Nugget gracefully avoided their strikes while she managed to knock one robot after another into the way of its ally's attacks.

Their sharp feet tore through metal. Their electrical jabs fried circuitry. Their metal bodies rammed into metal and dented it inward, which destroyed vital circuitry.
Bit by bit, Nugget wore down the army set against her, until not even one was able to continue to crawl after her. She set her sights on the large machine again, but before she left, she knelt down and picked up one of the severed legs in her beak.
"All drones have been rendered inoperable," the young girl's voice called out.
The old man was shaken from his thoughts as he swiped through various camera angles on the screen. "What?" he said incredulously as he finally landed on a screen that showed Nugget racing toward him.
"Stupid pests," he hissed. "Of course, they couldn't handle such a simple order."
"You did damage them when you knocked them off the leg." she reminded him.
The old man rolled his eyes. "Ugh, don't remind me. Imbeciles could've waited at the bottom and wore that chicken down instead of following her so aggressively."
"I feel I should remind you that the main systems are still unavailable." she continued.
The old man waved his hand dismissively. "No matter. She is nothing but a common barn fowl. Even without full capacity she will be no match for my masterpiece."
"If you engage too many systems it may delay the current startup time." she warned.
The old man's face fell into a frustrated scowl. "Darn it. My rush to test things has already delayed the schedule..."
He looked up at a series of five clocks and sneered. After a moment, he turned back to the screen where he could see Nugget make her way back.
"I can't trust any more drones," he said more to himself than anyone else. "I've waited this long, what's a few more hours."

He started to work at the console, and the clear dome was filled with various camera angles, charts, graphs, power fluctuations, and other technical data. So many popped up the view to outside was completely obscured.
"Initiate melee form x six one." he declared as he stepped back from the console and walked to the center of the room. From the roof, a helmet covered in wires with metal spikes sticking out all around it came down. He put the helmet on and strapped it in under his jaw.
As he did, a chair raised up from the floor, and he sat down. Metal straps sprung up from the chair and clamped his body in place as jolts of electricity started to fly around the spikes on his helmet.
"Let's see if you can keep up with the mind of a genius!" he laughed.
Nugget slowed down as she got closer. The giant machine seemed to be transforming right in front of her. Its body twisted and contorted as it lowered itself to closer to the ground.
By the time she got closer, it looked completely different. Hundreds of arms surrounded a circular base with just two sturdy legs that held it up.
Nugget went to take another step, and then immediately leaped backwards as one of the limbs slammed into the ground where she was about to step. The force of the blow sent out shockwaves that pushed Nugget even further back.
"Hahaha!" the old man's voice echoed out from the machine as he withdrew the machine's hand. "No matter how much skill you think you have, it's nothing compared to my genius!"
"With this machine, I could outmatch the greatest warriors that have ever existed. How could something as pathetic as one measly chicken hope to stand up against me?" he said mockingly. "Just give up, and maybe I won't make your death too painful."
Nugget's feathers puffed up as her eyes focused on the large dome that was surrounded by the army of arms. She was completely silent as she just stared.
"What the...?" he said as the robot took a step back away from Nugget.
The old man grit his teeth. "Stupid machine. No one told you to move."

Slave 53: The Phoenix
Azgarth is a violent Warlord from a planet where everyone feared him, a man that never lost a battle whether it be from his enemies surrendering or dying. After entering a wormhole, this once infamous man had his memory completely wiped. He was enslaved under the name 53. The great comet arrived one day and gave 53 an extremely rare animal aspect, the Phoenix. Having a rare animal aspect puts people on the fast track to power in this world. Will 53 show the same brutality as his former self? Author: So there will probably be a lot of changes when I start hashing out the whole classes and what not. I'm not planning on this to have statuses or anything like that, but when people 'lvl up' is probably going to be something like ascending 1, 2, 3, etc. With each ascension they are many times stronger, for example, someone who hasn't ascend at all would be at 0, but someone with a 1 would be about 5x stronger than someone who is 0 and so on. It would take a long time to reach each one. With the red colored marks which represents fire, I have a couple ideas with what I want to do, in a way a battle royale, as this continent they are on isn't very large, but all four elements are on it (or more, I might add light, dark, and some others) but all the humans have red, while a different alien race has blue (water), brown (earth), and grey (Air). The color of the mark they have influences how they feel about each other, a example of that would be if a red saw a brown, then they would naturally feel a disgust about each other, and if they killed someone from a different color they would gain way more life essence which is needed to ascend than they would killing someone from their same color. The last thing, I'm not too sure about the main character yet, as I like the whole idea of a memory wipe, I almost think it'd be more entertaining to have the guy slowly regain all his memory, then just becoming his normal self again. If that's the case I'll have to change the title of book. The original idea was this guy would keep the name 53, and his prior self named Azgarth is sharing his body, as in he can talk to him and give him advice on things since he doesn't want him to die since he is sorta like a split personality sharing the same body. Looking at it now, idk if I want this guy to be named 53 forever. Warning: A lot of dark content in the book, especially in the flashbacks.
