《Creating a world can't be that difficult, right?》Chapter 57

After Edwin and Raziel destroyed their pentagram, the only one that remained was the one from the mall, which was being targeted by Gar and Arthur.
As they ascended toward the roof, they found out that the guide's words were true, as they were encountering stranger enemies the more they went up.
There were not only stronger and bigger crawlers or smaller and stealthier ones that tried to ambush them, but there were also some that were capable of spitting acid, some capable of releasing laser rays through the eyes that they had on their hands, and also some that, even when they were cut in half and crushed, they were capable of continuing moving, pretty much like zombies in some movies that were capable of moving even without their heads.
This variety of enemies made their rise through the building very slow, as they were very cautious about each individual, as they never knew what each one would be able to do.
Even so, they managed to reach the door that would lead them to the roof without any problems. Before crossing it, both of them stopped so they could talk a bit.
"This should be the last battle. With how slow we have been, I'm sure that the others have already destroyed their pentagrams, and if not, they should be close to doing it, so with this, the mist should be gone. " Gar was overjoyed.
"I don't know if this is going to be the last battle." Arthur said seriously before smiling a bit." I'm still feeling the need to continue going up, but yes, it shouldn't be much of a problem when we get rid of this dam mist."
After that, both of them stayed silent for a few seconds so they could mentally prepare for the battle that was about to begin. Without saying anything, Arthur began to place his hands together, and little by little, a ball of blue energy began to appear between them.

"Whenever you want, I'm ready," Arthur said.
"Oh, so you are going to start with one of your stronger attacks. I like that. I think I will do the same." Gar exclaimed, laughing.
With those words, Gar opened the door, and after doing so, they saw a few meters ahead of them what looked like a giant wolf, at least four meters high. It was purple, and instead of fur, it had a strange layer of skin from which a few tentacles appeared, and instead of two eyes, it only had one on its forehead.
Without thinking it twice, Arthur opened his hands and released a blue beam of energy that looked like he had copied it from a particular monkey boy with an extendible stick.
Arthur's attack hit the beast directly on its face, creating a hole in its skull that should have killed it, but as they already knew that some of those monsters were pretty durable, they didn't get too confident.
Gar quickly neared the beast, and with its arm tattoos shining, he punched the wolf with all his strength in the same spot where Arthur did. The noise of multiple bones breaking at the same time resounded around the roof before the beast was covered in flames that suddenly came out of Gar's arms.
Without giving it a single second of rest, Arthur made a few gestures with his hands, and what looked like chains made of pure energy appeared around the monster's paws, restraining its movements, while a pair of air scythes covered Gar's arms, to cut in half the beast seconds later.
"Easy." Both of them said this while bumping their fists against each other.
With just a few movements, the couple managed to kill what was considered the strongest creature of those that were protecting the pentagrams without giving it any chance to defend itself in any way.

After that, they began to search for the pentagram around the roof, and a few seconds later, they found it. With a simple kick from Gar, the area where the pentagram was painted was completely destroyed.
"This should be all for now," Gar said happily.
"Something is not right," Arthur said, with a tone of concern.
"What do you mean?" Gar asked confused.
"The mist around here was pink a few seconds ago, but it is getting red over time." He said while looking at his friend.
Suddenly, they felt the need to continue ascending, becoming even stronger. Instinctively, both of them looked up.
Little by little, the mist began to disappear, which caused a strong red light to reach the roof. For a few seconds, they were unable to look at what was causing the light, but when their eyes adapted to the light, they saw it.
An enormous ball made of thousands of eyeballs was floating where the sun should be.
Gar stared at it for a few seconds without understanding what the hell that thing was.
And at that moment, it happened.
At that moment, the eyes stared back at Gar.

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge

Fragments of Glass
before the 1939-1945 War, most churches in England had stained glass windows, but despite local people's best efforts many of these windows were smashed in the bombing. What could be repaired was repaired, but in many churches all they could do was reassemble the remaining fragments randomly, with extra bits of clear glass added to eke them out to fill the windows. That is what I imagined for my collection of short stories: fragments of stained glass, bits of robe, bits of faces, all sorts of odds and ends randomly stuck together. And with quite a lot of clear fragments among the coloured ones. Just broken pieces of stories that anyone can look through.
