《Creating a world can't be that difficult, right?》Chapter 120

"I'm not going to lie: I expected more from the Q & A," Axel said.
"Why is that?" Adam asked.
"Because ninety percent were generic worldbuilding questions that any youtube tutorial answers. I was expecting something more interesting."
"I think the worst part is that we didn't manage to ask anything. It should have lasted for at least half an hour more." William complained.
"Well, they still need to organize the tournament, so it makes sense that the questions didn't last too long," Axel said.
"Talking about the tournament, we should go and sign up to participate," Adam said
Realizing that Adam was right, the three friends walked toward a counter where a queue of people was waiting to get their registration sheets. After waiting a few minutes, they got their sheets, and they filled them with their data, such as their names, world ranks, and age.
When they finished filling it out, they delivered it to the counter and waited until the registration process was over for everyone.
As it could take some time, they decided to explore the convention in the meantime. Doing this, they confirmed their thoughts that worldbuilding was just an excuse to sell anime t-shirts and figures, as there weren't a lot of stalls about creating worlds.
A quarter of an hour later, the registration process was over, and the organizers announced the groups.
The tournament would consist of fights between four people at the same time. Each person would send a creature to fight until only one remained, and the survivor would pass to the next round.
Like this, the losses from participating in the tournament would be small, and the battles would be short and exciting as anyone could win at any moment.
The tournament would have four rounds, and anyone that managed to reach the final would receive a prize, but only the best winner would have the right to chat with the professional worldbuilders to ask them for tips about their world.

Because there were too many people, the groups took turns, with just sixteen fights happening at once. The fights happened at some tables designated for the tournament. Each table had five chairs, four for the participants and one for the referee, who, besides checking that no one cheated, also had a world prepared to be a battlefield for that kind of battle.
That way, instead of connecting between them, the participants of each battle would connect with the referee's world and fight inside it.
Also, because the battles were between four people, rank one and two worldbuilders would fight in the same category, as rank two were fewer in number, and rank one could team up against them to get them out of the tournament even if they were stronger.
When the preparations were over, the three friends looked at which table each had to go to before wishing each other luck and splitting up.
Axel arrived at a table where four people were already fighting. In the middle of the table, there was a screen that showed the battlefield on which the four were fighting.
On it, Axel saw how a knight in golden armor, a space marine, a magical girl, and a cartoonish blue dragon fought to the death. The battle lasted for a few minutes before the magical girl released a pink laser ray that disintegrated her remaining enemies.
"Participant number four wins. The next battle should begin in five minutes. Please take your seats and be ready before that time." the referee said.
The four previous fighters stood up to leave their seats free, so Axel quickly sat down in one of them and closed his eyes to concentrate.
"Heaven, I need a powerful creature. Can you send me that aquatic snake you showed me a few days ago? And is there any problem with having the world paused?" Axel asked.

"There is no problem. I can still interact with the world even if it is frozen, so I will move the snake to the archway and send it through whenever you order." Heaven replied.
"That's great. Be prepared then." Axel said.
Axel opened his eyes again and saw that the other three people were also sitting at the table.
He waited a minute before the referee spoke again.
"Is everyone ready? Now you are going to connect with my world one by one and wait until I give you the green light to send your troops. Once I do it, the fight will start until just one of you remains." he said.
