While the spring's wind brought with it a soothing breeze that relaxed people's minds and made them feel peaceful, The minds of two demons in particular were far from peaceful as they were shattered by the evil words of their neighbor creating a disgusting scene with puke all over the ground as they both kept hearing flapping sounds in their heads overlapping with a terrible image… And unfortunately, it wasn't the flapping sound that a beautiful bird would make…

On the other hand, Yuki was surprised by the high level of tolerance Lucifer or as he likes to be called in this world Hanzo had as he was completely unaffected by his words and that's when it dawned upon him 'Wait a second, Hanzo probably still hasn't seen the landlord, that's why he isn't as affected, and here I almost thought he was actually immune to such devastating mental attacks because he was a devil…'

'What the hell is going on with these idiots?' Thought Hanzo who was planning to make a run for it thinking that they were under attack, but in the end, he didn't even see how such a devastating attack was launched…

"H-H-How can you do this to me and my lord?" Said Ashiya with a defeated and agonized look on his face while laying on his back on the ground…

"Well, we have to share both the good and the bad memories as neighbors, otherwise what's the point?" Said Yuki with an innocent look on his face, and at this point, the demon lord and his general exchanged a knowing look

'The war is on Ashiya!' Thought Maou while nodding at Ashiya and the latter nodded back in understanding 'Yes, I will make sure he will eat his words and pay the price for today's actions!'

"Anyways, time to establish our link" Said Yuki as he approached Maou who started to recover from his mental shock and asked "And how do we do that?"

Hearing this, Yuki's face suddenly froze and he started rubbing the back of his head and said with an embarrassed smile "I don't know, but let me try something… it might work"

Yuki suddenly started looking around the room until he found a balled-up pair of socks which probably belonged to Lucifer before he looked at Maou seriously.

The demons kept watching Yuki closely in case he tries to steal something and the latter noticed this and noted it inside his head to make better plans in the future for when he tries to rob them since they were being vigilant…

"Okay, I'm going to start, are you ready Maou?" Asked Yuki with a serious look on his face that heavily contrasted with his actions

'What's he doing with my socks?' Lucifer was bewildered but he still watched silently...

After attracting their attention with his serious expression, Yuki posed like a baseball pitcher and threw the ball of socks at Maou while yelling "I chose you, pika-Maou"

The room went silent as the pair of socks hit Maou in the face and dropped to the floor leaving everyone speechless and waiting for something to happen expecting this great dimensional link that Yuki talked about and kept hyping to trigger at any moment… and the reason this silence lasted far longer than needed is because Yuki kept the throwing pose with the same serious expression on his face and they couldn't understand what was going through his head… but he did…

'Damn, this is embarrassing, I was really hoping it would work… I should find a way out of this situation or Ashiya will probably kill me for doing this to his lord…'

Seeing Yuki silent, Maou couldn't help but speak "When will the dimensional link trigger?"

"Yes, are you trying to humiliate my lord?" Said Ashiya with some slight anger appearing on his face, if only he had this kind of loyalty the day he locked his own old out of the room…

But Yuki suddenly found his opportunity and startled them when he suddenly yelled with a disappointed look on his face "NOOO, you ruined it…"

"What do you mean I ruined it?" Asked Ashiya startled since he didn't feel anything happening in the first place and Yuki said with a regretful look on his face "This method requires absolute silence for it to be executed successfully… It's okay, it's my fault I didn't tell you beforehand"

Ashiya started nodding and couldn't help but apologize "I see, sorry abou-" but he was suddenly smacked in the back of the head by Maou who was glaring at him and said "You idiot, it's obvious he's just trying to find an excuse…"

Ashiya had a face full of realization and disappointment in himself for not realizing this sooner and quickly knelt down while saying "I'm sorry my lord, I disappointed you again, I should be punished…" and he started shedding crocodile tears…

"It seems you guys get along well huh?" Muttered Hanzo suddenly breaking the weird atmosphere in the room and the two demons and Yuki couldn't help but look at him in surprise before they looked at each other and smiled before Yuki said "Well, let's do this quickly"

Then he started thinking about activating his dimensional link ability with the target being Maou and out of nowhere, a white ray of light emerged from Yuki's forehead and entered Maou's leaving the people in the room no time to react as Ashiya said with urgency "My lord are you okay?"

Even Hanzo was surprised by this as he saw Yuki and Maou staring at each other speechlessly and they felt like for the first time, they caught a glimpse of each other's true selves…

Yuki saw Maou in his huge demonic form sitting on a giant black throne with his legs crossed and his head rested on his head surrounded by his many generals and watching a bloody scene filled with carnage with a bored look on his face…

Meanwhile, Maou saw Yuki standing in front of a pond of water, he had a calm and nostalgic look on his face, a white and black orb created a halo around him as if it was blessing him and another glow was shining from his heart… But then Maou's vision was attracted to where Yuki was looking and he saw inside the pond a reflection of an old man staring back at Yuki. He had long white hair and black eyes and a stern look on his face as if trying to lecture Yuki for his ghostly appearance but when Maou looked in this old man's eyes, he could see that there was a lot of love inside them for Yuki that wasn't affected at all by the change in the latter's appearance.

And at this same moment, that old man's head turned and stared at him with an unreadable look on his face causing Maou to feel a terrifying pressure like he never felt before, and it only disappeared when that old man closed his eyes and the vision stopped and he found himself staring at Yuki who for some reason had a tear sliding from his right eye…

And Maou understood the reason for it, because the moment he woke up from that vision, he somehow saw what Yuki saw, and he guessed the same experience happened to Yuki and he saw that old man…

'Dimensional link huh? What a weird ability… And what was that orb over Yuki's head? And the light inside his heart? And then that old man who didn't appear to be only a vision… Just what is the origin of Yuki and his abilities?' Maou found himself confused and he had many questions but seeing the nostalgic look on Yuki's face, he decided to ask him another time…

'Old man, I knew If I lived somehow after I died, you too are alive somewhere… hopefully we can meet again one day… I still remember your words, it seems you found what you were searching for…' thought Yuki as he touched the wet side of his face and couldn't help but mutter "Damn old man…"

Then he exchanged a knowing look with Maou before he turned around to leave and prepare for his meeting with Mashiro…

Hanzo couldn't hold back his curiosity and said "Maou, just what happened? Did something change after he used this dimensional link?"

Maou nodded and said "We can feel each other's general location and I can also talk to him telepathically…"

"This doesn't explain why he was cryi-" Hanzo was about to ask again but Maou interrupted him and said "Help Ashiya clean this mess, I have to go to work"

"Wait, I wasn't the one who puked!" Said the lazy Hanzo but Ashiya simply grabbed him by the collar and said "You better be useful around here"

"Tch…" Snorted Hanzo and shot the puke-covered floor a disgusted look and he almost puked just by looking at it but under Ashiya's glare, he ended up getting to work against his will… Devil abuse is always good!

Yuki planned to meet Mashiro inside the Sasazuka park which was the location he first met her… Of course, he tried to get some information regarding what happened because it really wasn't simple for her to end up asking him to let him live with her so he tried to call Chihiro after he got back from his trip to Akihabara with Emilia but she didn't pick up her phone no matter how many messages or calls he sent her…

"She's probably ignoring me because of the coffee shop's incident huh, well who cares" muttered Yuki who was on his way to the park, and he checked the time to see if he was late or not but he noticed that it was still 5 minutes before 10 leaving him 5 more minutes for the appointed time of his meeting with Mashiro, and just as he was checking his phone, he noticed that she sent him a message saying she already arrived so he quickened his steps a little so that he doesn't leave her waiting for too long.

After he reached the park, Yuki started looking around until he saw Mashiro sitting on a bench alone so he approached her, and the closer he got the more he was left speechless by her beauty but then she raised her head and looked at him and he saw his reflection in her clear eyes making him immediately wake up to reality and say "Good morning Mashiro"

"Good morning Yuki" replied Mashiro before she fell silent and Yuki could see some sadness in her eyes so he sat beside her and said "Is everything okay?"

Mashiro shook her head and fell silent again, and Yuki who already had an idea about what possibly happened asked her "Did something happen with that guy Sorata?"

Mashiro nodded causing Yuki's expression to turn a shade colder as he asked "and what's that idiot aunt of yours doing?"

Mashiro was silent for a while before she said "She's drowning herself in alcohol and barely returns these days to the dorm"

Hearing this, Yuki let out a helpless sigh before he said " Tell me everything that happened and don't leave anything out. After all, I'm sure you know having you live with me is not a simple matter"

Mashiro nodded at Yuki before she started recounting to him what happened the past few days he was occupied with his impossible mission and his eyes couldn't help but turn colder and colder the more she said causing the birds that were happily chirping around them to fly away...
