《MY Life In The Multiverse》Chapter 63: Reaching a deal and struggle with magic

After struggling for a while, Maou finally let out a sigh before he said "Fine, but you will help us recover our mana as well"
'Hmm, it seems like he understood that this world isn't as safe as he assumed at first' thought Yuki before he nodded, what he didn't know was that Maou sensed the aura Hilda released when she got home, and he was just planning for any unexpected situations, otherwise, he's good living like this…
And his demands weren't over "You will also tell us how you've been making money so quickly" said Maou and Yuki couldn't help but lament "You want me to teach you how to fish huh?"
"Indeed" replied Maou with a greedy look on his face and Yuki easily accepted his demand since they can actually find out what he was doing if they really wanted to with their magic.
"And lastly, I want your absolute promise that the ghost would stop terrorizing us after this" said Maou with a helpless tone to his voice and Yuki felt like he might have gone a little too hard on his neighbors with constant tortures…
"Fine, I accept your requests" said Yuki quickly to stop him from saying anything else, and after shaking hands in agreement, Ashiya finally couldn't hold back his curiosity and said "Just what in the hell did you do to make Hanzo betray us?"
Yuki stared at him slightly before he said "I just promised him an allowance of 20000 Yen a month hehehe"
"You cheap bastard" Yelled Ashiya at Hanzo but the latter simply rebuked him saying "You guys are too stingy, what do you expect…"
"Enough you two" said Maou while glaring at them before he turned to Yuki and said curiously "By the way Yuki, I've been meaning to ask you… Why are you so sure that creating a clone from your body would work for this ghost?"
'Damn this bastard…He definitely realized something' thought Yuki while looking at Maou's shining eyes that glanced at him before they glanced at somewhere beside him and Yuki could feel a slight tug on his shoulder.
'I know, he for sure can see you somehow, this guy is truly scary…' thought Yuki before he replied "I don't know how to explain it to you, he was born from the same power that I told you about before, and that power is connected to me so I thought that my body would probably work for him as well"
Yuki activated his bullshit no Jutsu and came up with this somehow logical excuse, and Maou hearing that it was related to my weird power nodded slightly and didn't ask anymore and simply said "Well, now all that's left is mana, it's not easy to create a clone…"
But Yuki found this easy to handle since the demons were different than Emilia as they could restore their mana from negative emotions "Don't worry, just take a walk tomorrow with me and you will probably restore all you need if not more"
Maou nodded at this while feeling slightly bad for Yuki and patted his shoulder to console him "Don't think so badly of yourself, you even attracted the hero somehow and that other pour girl…"

But Yuki only stared at him like an idiot before he said "that fuck you saying? Are you calling me ugly? Bitch I was saying we could use the ghost to scare people"
Maou's face suddenly froze while Ashiya and Hanzo snickered from behind him so he quickly apologized "Sorry, my bad"
Yuki only glared at him before he said "For the method, I used to earn money… there's something known as the underground arena here in Tokyo. You will need some connections with the underground to get a spot there… Although I don't suggest you to go there"
"Why? Are you trying to keep all the good things to yourself?" said Ashiya mockingly but Yuki simply shrugged and shot back at him "That's how you think you little devil, not me… anyways, there are some strong people there, and you guys need to use your magic to fight which is why I don't want you to go there… I feel like there are many strange forces in this world and it's better to lay low for a while until we understand it"
Maou grew thoughtful while Ashiya didn't understand what Yuki meant so he explained to him about Hilda's existence as well as baby Beel who's the son of a demon lord from another world leaving him speechless and he finally agreed with Yuki's thinking… although reluctantly.
Yuki also told them about his recent fight with Hilda and told them about her power which made them grow thoughtful
"How come she uses her mana without worry like this? Do they have a way to recover their mana?" asked Hanzo thoughtfully
"No, this world has no magic, it should be impossible to recover their mana unless they take the route of negative emotions…" replied Maou with certainty to which Yuki suddenly said
"Maou-san, how come you ended in earth of all places after you escaped Ente Isla?"
Hearing this question, Maou shrugged and said "I don't know, I just chose a random inhabited planet as the target of my gate, I never expected I would end up in a world without magic…"
"Then can you establish a link between this world and Ente Isla to recover your magic?" Asked Yuki, and hearing this, all three of the demons fell silent suddenly as they thought of the same thing
"It's impossible, the consumption would greatly surpass what we can recover" said Hanzo but Ashiya followed by saying "But this is only because our world is too far from earth… if it was nearer to this planet"
"We could easily establish a link to recover our magic at any time without much consumption" Maou concluded their thoughts with his eyes shining eerily
"Hanzo, investigate the origin of these demons and see if it's possible to establish a link with their world" said Maou with authority in his voice… This was the command of the demon lord!
"Yes my lord" replied Hanzo immediately, but the majestic atmosphere was quickly broken by Maou who started laughing "HAHAHAHA, one more world for me to conquer…" while his cheerleader Ashiya kept fanning his ego…

"These idiots…" Yuki shook his head at the guy that tried to conquer a world from MgRonald before he said to Hanzo "Just don't expose yourself" Before he took his leave to his room before they infect him with their stupidity…
….
Early morning the next day, Yuki accompanied Maou on his way to work and they made sure to terrorize a lot of people and only stopped when they reached Maou's workplace.
There, Yuki greeted Chiho before he went back home, and started his usual routine… He would start by doing physical training to raise his strength and once he completely exhausts himself, he would rest a little and start training his swordsmanship with Emilia.
*Tang*Tang*Tang*
The wooden swords Yuki brought for them kept clashing against each other, and Emilia was surprised by how much Yuki was improving, and today in particular, the movement of his sword appeared much more fluid than usual.
'Could it be related to the cuts on his clothes from yesterday? Is he training with someone else?' thought Emilia while exchanging blows with Yuki constantly and correcting him when he does make a mistake in his stance or decisions…
She found that she only needs to correct him once and he wouldn't repeat the same mistake again which surprised her, but quickly accepted it and thought that he was very talented with the sword…
After they finished their training session Emilia couldn't help but say "Amazing Yuki-kun, your swordsmanship is advancing very rapidly… at this point, you might reach my level in no time"
"Well, it's thanks to you, teacher" Replied Yuki with a grin causing Emilia to blush slightly and say "I'm going to take a shower" before she ran away.
"What's wrong with her" muttered Yuki before he shook his head and thought 'I only need one more fight to complete my warrior's glory quest… Hopefully, everything goes well' thought Yuki before he focused on creating a magic rune inside his mind.
This is the rune for a simple spell Yuki learned from Maou called Dark bolt, which could create a bolt made from dark magic and the caster can adjust its size and speed by adjusting the amount of mana they pump into the rune. However, since it was just a basic rune, it can't take too much mana so its power was limited…
Now, the question is what are runes? The answer is simple? Yuki learned from Maou that there were many ways to use magic.
Either by reciting incantations while controlling the flow of the mana manually to form the desired effect, this required huge knowledge and control so it wasn't feasible for a complete beginner like Yuki.
Another way was to completely control the flow of mana manually to shape the desired spells without the help of any incantations, this is the hardest way to cast spells and required both talent and experience…
The last one was to create runes inside the mind, these runes works like predefined circuits where the mana is channeled to create a specific effect.
These runes are effective since they allow the user to quickly cast a spell without needing to concentrate on manipulating and shaping their mana, but at the same time they lack versatility and at best you can only manipulate the power of the spell. (for example, you can't change a fire spear into a fireball just because they are both fire-based spells because the shape of the spell is determined by the rune)
Another disadvantage of these runes is that they weigh on the mind, and the more complicated they are, the harder it is to create and maintain them. This is why people only use them to begin their path in learning magic and slowly discard them afterward…
…
Back to the room, Yuki kept focusing his mana inside his mind to create this 'simple' rune as Maou described it, but no matter how much he tried, he always ended up failing for some reason and he couldn't figure out why so he ended up asking his system.
'System, why can't I form this rune? It feels abnormally hard for some reason, are you doing something behind my back to prevent me from getting stronger?' said Yuki inside his head and the system was quick to respond
[Host, you bring shame to this system by being so weak. Why would I hinder your growth? Idiot]
Yuki found this kind of true so he asked 'Then what's wrong with me?'
[Host has the balanced magic core, and as the name suggests, it allows the host to use both light and dark magic which is a very rare thing beyond what your little brain can imagine… but just as its name suggests… It's balanced, and although it increases the power of your spells by 200%, the difficulty in learning them is increased by the same amount. Not to mention that you, as a normal human, expect to learn magic in a few days. How laughable]
Yuki was surprised by the long and detailed reply, and insulted as well… But he ended up agreeing with the system 'It seems I grew complacent from having my swordsman talent and seeing my fast growth with the sword… Indeed, I have no talent for magic, and even me awakening it was all thanks to the system, not to mention being in a world that completely lacked it…'
Yuki felt like an idiot for a little bit, but at least he regained some of his confidence since he understood that the circumstances were simply against him for now, but things will change when he gets summoned to that world of magic!
'I better focus on my sword training' concluded Yuki as he heard Emilia exiting the shower so he quickly went after her to wash the sweat he accumulated from the training…

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
