《MY Life In The Multiverse》Chapter 78: Aftermath and tough request

'How can I lose so easily and in front of my lord no less?' Thought Claude in astonishment before a rush of anger and humiliation overwhelmed him and he ended up giving in to his rage as he waved his hand and sent a huge dark ball at Yuki "Chaos EXPLOSION!"
Leon's expression darkened at this since they clearly agreed to not use magic and now Claude was breaking that agreement…
The strength of the body can never compare to the strength that magic grants, at least this held true in this world… So Claude using his magic now was truly an act of bullying!
With magic, you can even destroy cities and mountains and even whole continents! And now, Claude was breaking the agreement and using magic against Yuki who shouldn't be able to use it as a newcomer to this world…
Yuki stared at the fast-approaching dark orb and noticed that Leon has yet to make a move so his thoughts accelerated to superhuman levels 'Should I trust that Leon would interfere and do nothing or should I try and block it? From its speed, I will not be able to dodge and it might even follow me… What a tricky situation'
However, Yuki was quick to decide that he can't put his life at the mercy of someone he knew for just one day so his eyes quickly narrowed as he said "DARK SHIELD!" Causing a pitch-black magic shield to appear in front of him, but different from the illusory ones he used to create, this one was very thick. A clear indication of how strong Yuki's magic has gotten!
"Yuki-sama" Yelled Sacha and Kayle who were unable to help Yuki in any way with worried faces and watched with wide eyes as Claude's Chaos explosion clashed with Yuki's dark shield creating a huge zone of destruction around Yuki, but after the dust settled, he was completely safe inside of it as he stared coldly at Claude and said "This wasn't in our agreement"
Claude's face was full of embarrassment as he finally reined in his emotions and bowed slightly to his lord and said "I'm sorry my lord for losing my temper and humiliating myself, I will accept any punishment"
Then, he turned to Yuki and said "Today was my loss" and he was ready to leave but he stopped when he heard Yuki say with an ugly smirk on his face "Leon buddy, your servant's actions were truly uncalled for, I almost died just now when he used magic…"
Leon shot a look at Yuki's perfectly intact appearance and felt like killing Claude and Alrose for what his guts were telling him was going to happen… and his worst fears soon came to light!
"So how about you open your warehouses for me twice instead… It's only fair right?"
"My lord you shouldn't I..." Claude tried to claim responsibility but Leon shut him up with a glare that said 'I'm going to fucking kill you'
'I'm going to milk you dry hehehe' thought Yuki as he watched Leon frown deeply and glare at his subordinates before he turned to him and only said one word "Fine" before he left coldly…

And Claude's face turned a shade paler as if he heard something no one else heard and he quickly took his leave as well…
Walking through the golden corridors of Eldorado, Yuki was constantly pestered by Sacha whose eyes were shining as she stared at him "Yuki-sama, that was so cool, you actually defeated Claude-sama on your own!"
Yuki felt slightly awkward at the overly excited maid and only rubbed the back of his head and said "Well, we technically didn't use magic, and Is it such a big deal?"
"big deal? He's lord Leon's strongest subordinate! I'm sure your fame will quickly spread throughout Eldorado!" said Sacha excitedly before Kayle gave his experienced opinion…
"Yuki-sama, what Sacha's saying is indeed true. In fact, considering how the different demon lords keep tabs on each other's actions, your reputation might even reach them so you should be careful in the future just in case…"
Kayle's words were indeed helpful and Yuki decided to make some plans for the unknown future just in case…
'Fame huh? my third task required me to achieve worldwide fame, it didn't specify if it should be good or bad… But this is a good start' thought Yuki and he noticed that a new completion bar appeared under his third task and it was currently at 1%
'Considering that the incident had just happened, I guess it's normal for it to still be so low, but once the news spread throughout Eldorado, I think it will go up further' thought Yuki before he turned to the butler and the maid that stood up for him despite everything and smiled warmly at them before he said "Thank you for standing up for me earlier"
Sacha's face turned beet red when she saw Yuki's smile and lost her words while Kayle simply sighed at her and said "It's our job to serve you Yuki-sama, we were just doing our job"
'Damn Kayle, I wish you were my summon instead of that freakish ghost…' thought Yuki causing a certain ghost to sneeze suddenly and curse at whoever was thinking about him…
After having some more small talk with Kayle and Sacha and deciding that he had to find a way to repay them in the future, Yuki entered his room and began contemplating the important matter at hand… Which was how to milk the blond cow…
'What abilities or talents should I evolve first?' he thought, as he checked each one of his abilities.
'I would like to make body of diamond even stronger, however it's impossible since I require 100 tons of adamantine, but I don't think even the whole world's reserves would be enough… After all, Adamantine is one of the rarest metals in existence, even higher in rarity than Mythril and it's used only to forge the greatest of legendary weapons and armors granting them near unlimited durability and even some anti-magic properties…
So not to mention Leon's promise, even if I presented him with my ass, he would never give me his supply of such a rare metal so I better ask him for something else…' Thought Yuki before he let out a big sigh when he stared at his talents…

'The requirements for talents are even crazier… Absorb the bodies of 100000 Minotaurs, absorb the essence of 10 legendary grade swords… Absorb 100 tons of Magical ink…' he directly gave up on evolving his talents for now since he felt like he was summoned to the wrong world to evolve them…
"I guess I will just go with this for now…" He muttered before he called for Sacha and asked her to relay what he needed from Leon after making up his mind…
Leon's face turned dark when he heard Sacha who trembled slightly as she listened to his colder than usual voice "You said he wants me to take him to my magic cores warehouse…"
"Y-yes my lord" Said Sacha who never saw her lord so angry like this before…
'Is that brat sent by some other demon lord to take down my Eldorado or what?' Thought Leon before he ordered Sacha to call Yuki over… 'We are in dire need of these magic cores, especially since our supply of diamond is almost empty and those stupid elves will start complaining soon…' Thought Leon while watching Sacha give him a bow and quickly run away and return with Yuki not long after, although he noticed that she appeared to be almost hiding behind him which almost made him smite her with his laser…
'Calm down, calm down… Don't bother with this traitor' however, how could you calm down when the thief that was making your life miserable suddenly says with a warm look on his face "Leon buddy, is everything okay, your face seems paler than usual"
'You've been here for one day and you can already notice? Great! How about you also notice that it's also because of you that I'm like this… I'm starting to doubt that he used to provide for his family… No, he probably caused their poverty in the first place' Leon had many thoughts in his head, but he didn't know how to express them so he only said coldly "Why?"
"Leon buddy you will have to explain better, I can't understand you like this" Said Yuki while clearing his ear which annoyed Leon beyond measures but he regained his composure and said "Why do you need the magic cores for?"
Yuki put on a surprised look on his face before he said "Oh, so that's what you meant, well, I was traumatized after almost dying from your subordinate's Ch-Chaos fart I believe he called it… Ah how scary that was, so I want magic cores to learn how to use magic"
'It's good to have a built-in excuse' thought Yuki with an evil smirk…
'No, you ask for a book to learn magic, just like you ask for a pen to write... this bastard… Is he trying to make me mad on purpose? Is this world finally paying me back for summoning people against their will…' Thought Leon before he let out a sigh and said "I can't give you magic cores for now…"
Yuki who was oblivious to just how big of a pressure he put the economy of this country under asked innocently "Why not?"
Leon let out a sigh and begin explaining to him about their relationship with the elves and their love for making ornaments and magic amulets using their diamond, and in turn, making them their biggest client and at the same time, provider of magic cores which they need to power up all the formations protecting Eldorado against the possible invasions from hell…
"Mmm, that's indeed a problem…" Muttered Yuki and Leon let out a sigh of relief thinking that he understood their plight, but the dark-hearted Yuki simply said with a smile "But I'm sure you can figure out a solution, after all, you are a great ruler, a demon lord, a former Hero, a "
The more Yuki kept singing praises to the absolute astonishment of Sacha, the more Leon's face darkened as his hand kept lighting up with a dangerous light before it would go out and he was clearly struggling with a terrifying decision...
'Okay, I probably pushed him too far' Thought Yuki before he said "Ahum, of course I think there's a solution to this problem…"
Leon's hand finally returned to normal allowing Yuki to let out a sigh of relief and said "With your power, can't you just deal with the forces of hell directly, you won't need the formation after that right?"
Leon shook his head "I can't, Hell is the territory of Guy, a demon lord whose power can only be matched by Milim Nava, and demon lords shouldn't be starting fights with each other for no reason…"
"Mmm I see, but don't you think that the situation is already becoming unpredictable? With Veldora's disappearance and whatnot" said Yuki with a mysterious smile which brought a serious face from Leon as he asked "What do you mean?"
"Well, I'm not completely sure yet, I will confirm my guess once the investigations of the cave he was sealed in are completed, but from what I understand from what you and Kayle told me, he should be incapable of escaping on his own, not to mention completely disappear, it's very likely that this is the doing of a demon lord and probably a strong one"
Leon fell silent before he said "This guess of yours, I already reached it, but there's no evidence of it… Plus Guy wouldn't do such a thing, and the only one who has the power to do this is Milim but questioning her is impossible"
"Well, I might have a plan just for that, and it would also help with your magic core problems in the future… want to hear it out?"
After staring at Yuki's face, Leon couldn't help but feel his heart shiver slightly as he thought 'Why do I feel like I'm talking to a devil…'

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
