《Infinitium, Book 1》Chapter 16, A Couple Of Things to Take Care Of.

It took another two weeks to make sure everything was ready. Abi was safely back in my subconscious. I was now quantumly linked to Thor, Abi, and a copy of myself. An exact quantum copy of me had been created over the last two weeks. Also, Thor had figured out how to place the construct in an energy matrix so it wouldn’t deteriorate. The one thing we hadn’t been able to duplicate was the Adamantium Ring. Abi thought it had to do with the inherent magical quality from the originating dimension. Probably something to that theory.
“I wouldn’t worry about it too much, Johnathan.” she’d said while we discussed the ring. “If I’m correct I’m pretty sure that item is soul bound to you. Once we get over there it should take but a moment to make sure. If the ring is soulbound to you, should you die, the ring will reappear where you do.” Abi had said.
It had been weird being able to move back and forth between the two bodies. Which still begged the question, where was my soul? Though I’d stopped worrying about it. I didn’t want to become like McCoy from the original Star Trek novels. He’d been so obsessed about his soul he’d never wanted to use transporters. I tested my ability to move my consciousness by creating a total of three bodies. I was in my original body and there was one in a stasis that would be reawakened should something happen to the body I was going to go through the portal with. The third had been created, moved into, moved out of then destroyed just to make sure there were no ill effects. I’d considered trying to go multiple, an idea where one mind shared multiple bodies I’d read in a series by one of the best science fiction authors I’d ever come across, but if I was going to another Universe I didn’t know if the concept would work there, or the magic would make it impossible. The other thing that had slowed me down was making sure Amanda, Thor, and Abi had all the information they needed to ensure things kept running smoothly on Earth.
While I was gone I’d set the three of them up as a committee. Each had ultimate veto power over any idea that seemed too extreme but with Amanda as the moral compass, I wasn’t really worried. Ultimately it still all fell back to me but it was nice knowing that while I was gone I wouldn’t have to worry about anything. For Thor, I started to set up specific responses to specific conditions should they occur. I was going to try to cover every single contingency I could think of. Of course with my memories already a part of him, Thor saw what I was doing and shared a list he’d put together. I looked it over, agreed with his choices, and gave permissions if needed because some of the contingency plans would come up against the blocks I’d built into him. Programming 101, always leave a back door into your program if you need to make adjustments. I created the appropriate code and added them to his ruleset. Otherwise, any problems a man or woman might try Thor could handle without the need to kill anyone. Though, specific circumstances would allow for such measures.

I also tasked Thor with ensuring that Earth and any other location with Humans on it were safe from Natural disasters as well as possible alien ones. That had put Thor into a theoretical mode. Some of the defenses and weapons he’d come up with were based on some of the best Science Fiction I’d ever read. This was probably due to Abi having some influence on him. Science Fiction was one of her go-to genres these days. Some of those defenses were going to be placed just outside the Oort Cloud and at about the same distance from Trappist-1.
As for the general people throughout the world. Once they’d learned that they could have anything they wanted just by asking, most were ecstatic. Want the latest gaming console, yours. Want a bar of gold, yours. Want a brand new car, yours. Of course, there were groups in Europe and America that were still unhappy. The best we, Amanda, Jessica, Abi, Thor, and I could figure out was that these people must just hate everything. I’m talking about the social justice warriors, woke activists, and people that wanted to create causes just so they had something to rally against.
One of the causes that the activists were exploiting was Trans rights. The technology that I’d invented made it possible for anyone to be whatever sex they wanted. I hadn’t changed into a woman though I guess I could create a version of myself that was female and transfer my consciousness to it if I really wanted to. Truthfully though I had more important things to think about than how I wanted to have sex. Since anyone could be whatever sex they desired, gender was truly a social construct. I think that one action pissed off one group of people that kept claiming it wasn’t. Well, I couldn’t please everyone.
Figuring out how to change a man to a woman and a woman to a man and allowing them to have the ability to reproduce, which hadn’t been possible unless they froze their ovum or sperm before their transition, had taken Thor a full 3 seconds. Also, anyone going through the transition now had it a little easier. Thor would save a copy of the genetic structure and could return them to their original state in seconds. The actual Trans people, the people modifying their sex, so they could be part of whatever gender class they desired loved the change. No more painful surgeries or explaining to doctors why they needed to make the change. No more need to justify making the change. The only rule I’d made was that they needed to be 18 or have their parent’s permission. For those under 18 that had no parents, Amanda reviewed the situation with Thor and made the call. So long as the child wasn’t being exploited and it was truly something they desired 15-year-olds and up could change their bodies however they wished. Younger than that, they could wait a couple of years. They needed to focus on their education. Once everything was approved all they had to do was contact Thor and a minute later they were what they wanted to be. They could also change as often as they desired and make small alterations to their bodies. Even so, the activists were still claiming that Trans rights had been violated and I’d wiped out a species. The idiocy of that statement was not worth responding to.

As for the activists, I had set a very clear rule and unlike the religious radicals, it only took three people getting sent off-planet to get other activists to stop their horseshit. What finally got through to all the other idiot activists was the visit I had with three of the most outspoken activists that weren’t even part of the Trans movement. Just three idiots trying to cause trouble and use the Trans community to forward their fascist agenda. Once they’d been identified and moved to Trappist-1e I’d had Thor bring them through a portal to Earth where I’d frozen them in a standing position, unable to talk or move, they were only able to listen and see.
“This talk is going to be short and sweet, try to learn from it.” I paused for a moment then said very plainly with a resigned expression on my face, “Stop Being Stupid!” I walked around each, looking them up and down, examining each one of them as if they were a prized poodle at a dog show. I stepped back in front of them and continued, “I’m tired of the bullshit your group of activists keeps trying,” I said pausing for a moment.
I made eye contact with each of them before I continued, “You three have taken idiocy to a whole new level. What the fuck did you not understand about Thor is everywhere? See’s everything? You three have been trying to utilize the tactics of the Sturmabteilung that helped Hitler rise to power. Shouting others down, trying to curb free speech. Well no more.”
I paused for a moment, noting the defiance. Yeah, I needed to do something about that defiance. Through our link, I asked Thor if he had a good lock on them. I had my nanites lock me to the floor and then had a portal to the moon ten feet above the surface open directly behind each of them. They were sucked back into the near-vacuum then the portals closed. Each of them tumbled as they flew horizontally across the moon about ten feet above the surface in only the clothes they were wearing. Their nanites protected them though I’m sure they felt the cold. The moon’s gravity eventually drew them to the surface and they tumbled for a bit before landing in a heap. Thirty seconds after that Thor took control of each of them, had them stand up. They each stepped through a new portal to one of my test rooms where the atmosphere was added and the moon dust was removed by nanites. Then they stepped through another portal back into my office. “ Have a nice trip?” I asked as I noted that the defiance was now replaced by fear.
“Good, now you might start to understand just how fucked you are if you truly piss me off. That portal could have just as easily flung you into the Sun or a Black Hole. Think about that while you’re on Trappist-1e. Feel free to share your experience, and our conversation here today. I want everyone to know how utterly fed up I am with fascists that hide behind pleasantries and false claims. When you talk about your experience today, remember to stick to the truth. If you do not, you’ll be on Trappist-1e a lot longer.” I paused letting that sink in as I checked their vitals through their nanites. It seemed that I had terrified them. Good.
“I believe I’ve taken up enough of your time. We will not talk again. Access to your social media will return to you tomorrow. That should give you enough time to calm down and think about everything I’ve said. If you want to provide quotes for anything I’ve said, ask Thor for them. If you follow the rules and pull your heads out of your asses you will get to return to Earth in four months. Once you get back if any of you continue to try your fascist tactics you will find yourself back in a room like the one you’re about to go to except there is no exit and you’ll be there until you die all by yourself,” I said as portals opened up behind each, they stepped through and the portals closed.
I watched through Thor as each was released from the immobilization and then dropped to their knees hugging themselves and crying. I didn’t like being this much of an asshole but I’d become absolutely sick of watching professors shouted down or censored by the ‘tolerant left.’ Which was being tricked by people like these three assholes. I’d give them a chance to change. If they didn’t, no great loss to humanity when they disappeared. There was no place for such idiocy if humanity was ever going to be able to take full advantage of the tools I’d made available. “Thor,” I called.
“I heard; orders noted,” he said.
“Don’t put up with any of that crap anywhere on the planet. The Constitution’s 1st Amendment is the rule of thumb I want to go with for the most part. There are exceptions, but the only people that get to make those exceptions anymore are Me, Amanda, and you. Jessica is also on the list, though she won’t be making policy, just reminding us when we attempt to go too far.
“Understood,” Thor answered.
After those few items were cleared up Thor started to search for a suitable location for me to head off to another Universe.
