Puissant (adjective): powerful, mighty, potent

The fall from grace was a fall to hell.

Hidden in the shade of the bleachers, the tennis champion didn’t dare breathe.

Years of his undisputed dominance in the court was gone, dethroned by another talented, young blood that reminded him so much of his younger self. The worst part? He had trained the kid himself.

Sure, the audience’s admiring eyes have shifted to a new idol, but what he feared wasn’t the lack of applause…

But the overload of disdain.

Those faces that once followed him in awe will surely view him with disgust, pity, and apathy, now that he failed against his own apprentice. What will the other prominent players think? He was so proud of his skills before but he lost clearly today.

What became of him now?

Would he even be worthy of being called a tennis player? Everybody said it’s okay to make mistakes, until he became the definition of perfection. Then, the mistakes were made and it’s not okay.

So heavy was the head that wore the crown.

Yet nobody mentioned the horrid emptiness from taking it off.
